Made Pizza today

I made two batches, and the second (the 1st pic is the 2nd batch) turned out way better, with a crunchier crust (figured out the proper temperature and settings for that one).

More than homemade, this is assembled. Got pizza base and sauce from the market, but at least now I know how to make the sauce more flavourful and the crust crunchy. Hopefully, one day I'll knead my own dough.

Studiowest Sale Picks: Berry Bomb, Berry Love, Heart Strings

Visited Westside on a whim a few days ago; most of the perfumes were, of course, already out of stock. But I was able to pick a few good ones.

Now, I know these don't last long. But the sale prices, the quantity you get, and the scent profile make them worth it for everyday use, when you wouldn't want to use up your more expensive perfumes.

And yeah, ignore the bottles copied from BTSO.

1. HEART STRINGS

Notes listed

>Top: Marigold, Saffron
Middle: Caramel, Sandalwood, Violet
Base: Amber, Moss, Tonka Bean

The bottle has a cute charm.

I don't really get any marigold. To my nose, this is a delicious woody caramel gourmand. It is not a creamy gourmand, but woody and powdery. Not something out of the box, but very pleasant, and if you are a gourmand lover (like me), this is a great deal at this price point.

Weakest longevity of the three I have bought, despite being a gourmand. I have left it to mature and will take it out in winter.

2. BERRY BOMB

Notes listed

>Top: Davana, Cherry, Pink Pepper
Middle: Lily of the valley, Jasmine, Cedarwood, Sandalwood, Vetiver
Base: Vanilla, Coffee, Praline

This one smells so bad on my skin, almost medicinal (probably from the davana). This is something along the lines of Lost Cherry, but doesn't have the cinnamon blast in LC that I hate. This was earlier sold as Cherry Bomb, and they should have kept that name because there are no berries here. It's a lot better on my clothes. Smells like dark cherries dipped in booze and spice (no boozy notes listed, but I get a strong rum note). Read a bit about davana as a note, and I think the booziness comes from it. It becomes a rich vanillic cherry as it dries down, and on my clothes I do get hints of coffee. My mom likes this, and it's a complex and dynamic scent. She wore it to her office and said it kept changing throughout the day; the notes really came through.

Longevity is not bad at all for the price, almost 4-5 hours. Projection is very low.

3. BERRY LOVE

Notes listed

>Top: Peach, Jasmine, Cherry
Middle: Rum, Sandalwood
Base: Vanilla, Patchouli, Praline

Did they accidentally include rum in this one instead of Berry Bomb? Lmao, no rum to be found in this. BUT, this one is my absolute favourite out of the three. This is such a beautiful freshie. It opens with watery, juicy peaches and cherries. Imagine biting into ripe peaches and cherries, sitting in a bathtub, and the juices flow down your hand. It reminds me of Valaya (definitely not a dupe, but a similar scent). Really evokes the feeling of freshly washed skin. This is rather linear after the initial burst of sweet fruitiness and has a hint of floral touch that keeps it balanced.

This projects the most on my skin and lasts a good while too. I should have picked up more of this.

-------

I also tried a few others — from which I can remember Glazed Vanilla (really yummy smooth vanillic gourmand, kinda like Bianco Latte), Coco Swirl (body mist, this was good too), and something from the men's line which was a really good aromatic freshie (it was either Untamed, which is the green bottle, or Savage or Wild from the same range).

[Homemade] - Pink Sauce Pasta

Made pink sauce pasta for the first time and it was really delicious 😭😭😭😭 family members loved it too. Guess I like pink sauce more than Alfredo or Arrabiata.

Appreciation post for Muse Beauty

They have been posting stories in support of the protests for almost a week now, posted a carousel a few days ago to spread awareness, and then the founder also posted a reel yesterday talking about the protest and customers leaving or DMing them and calling them anti-national. Kudos to them for standing their ground. The founder is also attending the protests in Mumbai tomorrow.

More brands have finally started to speak up recently too, whether it is because of pressure from people or performative; at least it is still reaching more people. I expected better from Fae considering their branding, but better late than never.

Another brand, Styxways, that sells clothes, has been posting on their stories for quite a few days now.

This might not be your usual post, but given the gravity of the situation, I think we need to have these conversations, especially after everyone has been asking influencers and brands to speak up for so many days.

Saunfe has a competitor: Misogynistic Brands

https://preview.redd.it/i23hruw9h1ah1.png?width=492&format=png&auto=webp&s=7e27de236b5f26a689c71c2f0937ec83197ddba3

Remember how Saunfe INCESSANTLY advertises products rooted in misogyny and body shaming women and young girls? Picking apart every minor so-called 'flaw' and anything that isn't a smooth, fair 'baby-soft' body feature, propagating toxic patriarchal beauty standards rooted in pedophilia.

A friend got this advertisement on Insta and sent it to me. Now, we have another such brand born out of Shark Tank, trying to gaslight young girls and naive women into thinking that they need to smell like roses and taste like a dessert down there just to please their boyfriends. Because what is pH and what is biology, RIGHT?

They also deleted my comment calling their misogyny out. Disgusting.

Hating these scents will get me hated

Already wrote a passionate hate post about Libre, so why not come out and confess about the others. I can cut Coco Vanille some slack here, it's not 'disguRsting' like the other two.

What are some scents that are really hyped but you hate? Let's have a fun discussion.

Mother Dairy Coffee Walnut Ice cream and Pista Kulfi Cassata

Pista Kulfi Cassata: Really good, though doesn't look like what's shown e pic. But it was really tasty. The bread was a bit dry.

Coffee Walnut: SO SO GOOD! I'm a sucker for good coffee flavoured ice-creams anyway. This is less sweet than Amul Tiramisu or Coffee. There are chunks of walnuts. Must try!

HOT TAKE: YSL Libre and a dupe

When I bought a 'dupe' of YSL Libre last year from popular attar seller Gulabsingh Johrimal, I wasn't aware of what the original Libre smells like. But I got really curious after the GSJM dupe became my mom's favourite. I grew out of it in a few months, because I once applied it while being sick, and that made me nauseous, so I didn't want to use it anymore after that. But I love it on my mom.

It rarely happens that I hate a perfume to such an extent that I try to scrub it off my skin multiple times with every soap, handwash, bodywash, and shampoo within my reach. And YSL Libre made it to that very short list (another being Mancera Coco Vanille). Oh, did you think I was gonna bash GSJM? Oh no, their 320 rs attar is WAYYYY better than whatever Libre is at 10-12k. Libre is downright diabolical; it makes me want to put my arm in the washing machine, so I don't have a single trace of this snake venom left on my skin. I am sorry if I offend any Libre lovers with this post, but if I smell this on someone, I would probably throw up.

Libre on my skin opens with bright mandarin, extremely citrusy, then the citrus becomes screechy, you get fresh lavender, still bearable till this point despite being like men's cologne. Then the orange blossom and jasmine start to come through, and I think, 'Hmm, okay, maybe it gets to the good part now.' WRONG. HELL NO. THIS SCENT HAS NO GOOD PART. It only becomes worse and worse. It becomes cheap chameli ka tel, gag-inducing white florals. As it dries down, it becomes EVEN MORE HORRENDOUS. The white florals completely take over, and they are not the good kind because not everyone is Mugler Alien Goddess. I had to spray it again on my arm to write this review and channel my disgust. I am making faces as I write this. Jail to this perfume, life sentence.

Now, coming to the 'dupe.' I don't think it is a dupe; the DNA is not at all similar. GSJM Libre is not screechy, it has no white florals, and it eliminates the bad parts of YSL Libre (which, frankly, is everything). GSJM 32 Libre is pure fresh lavender, opening with mandarin. There is vanilla in the base that makes everything sweet and stops it from becoming a screechy cologne. It is still very fresh and clean, almost like laundry. Quality of the oil? Insane. Amazing longevity, projects all day. I can smell it on my mom until night, whether we go out or she comes home from work in the evening. So whatever GSJM made is not a clone; it's a redemption of Libre. There are very few scents that my mom absolutely loves, and this is one of her top favs.

On that note, if someone thinks this is a promotion post for GSJM or is a fake review, this is actually a HATE POST for Libre. You can't even pay me to praise Libre, ever. Thanks to the friend who sent me this sample and saved me from going out to test this abomination myself, or even worse, actually spending my money to buy a sample of this cursed perfume. I know scents are subjective and react differently on everyone's skin, but I can't imagine myself liking this on anyone.

Feel free to ask anything.

EDIT: A little update. I just couldn't get over the fact that the names on my bottle and on the website are different, so I contacted them. They said Liberty on the website is not the same as the one I have. The one I am using isn't listed on the website, so you would have to contact them on WhatsApp and order directly (the name is YZL 32 Libre).

Fragrance Haul- Muse Beauty and Nivea

Bought Muse Beauty Scandalous Honey from their website when they were having a sale of 50% off on the 30 mls (it's probably still active on some scents that are available in 30 ml), and also got Kitty Cereal Milk with it.

2 ml samples from when they were running an offer of 5 samples for 100 rs. Reviews in the comments (a more detailed review here)

Picked up Nivea Pearl and Beauty roll-on yesterday from a nearby mart. Smells clean and fresh, not as fresh as the regular blue one that I use, but this one is great for layering with clean scents.

Tried some unique pistachio flavoured ice creams from Mother Dairy

Cream Cheese Pistachio Cone: This is very peculiar, but not exactly bad. It has that cheesecake like sourness with the nuttiness of pistachio. Don't buy if you don't like that.

Crafted Premium Pistachio: This was really good, had a very prominent milky flavour with sweet and nutty pistachio. The Crafted Premium line of Mother Dairy really amps up the milky flavour. Worth a try.
