Devastating Season-Ending Knee Procedure for #1 Pick Azzi Fudd

Devastating Season-Ending Knee Procedure for #1 Pick Azzi Fudd

Really sad to see these types of injuries in any sport at any level. Azzi Fudd will miss the remainder of her rookie season to undergo a procedure on her injured right knee. No other details have been shared on what exactly the injury or procedure entails, but clearly the organization is taking her health and recovery seriously and not trying to rush her back this year.

Nneka Ogwumike Announced this is her final season in the WNBA

11-Time WNBA All-Star and current President of the WNBPA has announced that this will be her final season. Her list accolades goes so far back but some highlights include:

2016 WNBA Champion, 2016 WNBA MVP, 2012 WNBA ROY, 11x WNBA All-Star, 4x WNBA All-Defensive First Team, 4x Kim Perrot Sportsmanship Award, 2017 Euroleague Champion, 2013 Polish National League Champion...and that doesn't even include her high school and college accolades.

We'll see if she takes a break from the game for a bit, or maybe we'll see her in the studio with her sister Chiney Ogwumike who retired from playing several seasons ago.

Ballhalla and the Golden State Valkyrie will play host for the 2027 WNBA All-Star Weekend. Dates haven't been finalized yet, but given Ballhalla's infectious energy and highest average attendance per game it seems the WNBA has finally made one good decision this year.

WNBA in legal fight with MLB's Cubs & Nationals over the trademark "The W"

The WNBA is likely going to lose since both baseball teams both play nationwide and have been using "The W" in commercial business.

Surely there will be some kind pf financial agreement when the dust settles

Public Service Announcement for Those Attending In-Person for the First Time

In 2 years I fully expect to see hundreds of posts complaining about this, so I'm going to share this information with you now. I have been fortunate enough to attend many Olympic Games over the past few decades. My friends attended MilanoCortina26 with me earlier this year and they were shocked to learn that you couldn't hear any broadcast commentators during the events, inside the venues. For example, watching figure skating my friend was fully expecting to hear some in-venue commentary on the types of jumps the figure skater was performing. Nope, zero commentary. We heard the skaters music and that's it.

So, for those of you who think you're going to hear some NBC commentator talking during say Athletics or Rowing or Fencing you don't hear shit.

LATE EDIT: Many events won't show replays!!!

Enjoy the Games!

UCLA Bruin Sophomore Somto Okafor Wins MVP Honors, All-Star Five Selection, and Undefeated tournament at 2026 FIBA U18 Women's Eurobasket

The Bruins lost 6 players to graduation and subsequently the WNBA earlier this year, so defending their national title is going to be a tall order especially against teams like UConn that are returning a solid foundation of starters. Other Bruins who played for their respective home countries included Lena Bilić (Croatia), Lina Jerković (Slovenia), & Christina Karamouzi (Sweden).

Indiana Fever Head Coach Stephanie White prepared 2 minute statement to share during pre-game press conference

Coach White finally makes a statement that wasn't prepared by some PR intern. She's clearly pissed with the narratives coming from bad faith actors trying to weaponize the WNBA and its players. At the same time, Fever fans continue to call for White's immediate firing because she doesn't represent and defend the toxic culture they so desperately want from weaponizing the players and the team. And yes, I am stating that this subset of toxic behavior absolutely started with all the new W fans who followed Caitlin Clark into the league. Quite literally none of these narratives existed before she joined the league. All the good she's done for the league is being overshadowed by all the hate and toxicity from her fanbase.

WNBA Players Association Issues Statement Emphasizing Inclusion

After several games of Anti-Trans protests outside of WNBA venues associated with Sophie Cunningham's remarks, the WNBPA has finally issued a statement emphasizing inclusion.

"We embrace justice equity, diversity, and inclusion...Those are the values that unite this Union and allow it to protect women's sports while creating transformational change. Hate, abuse, and demonization of any person or group of people, including transgender people, only fuel fear, division, and harm."

T-Shirts for Extreme Heat/Humidity w/Odor Control & UV Protection

I know Patagonia's Capilene Cool shirts are an option and I've got a local store, but before I run out and buy some tees I was hoping for other recommendations at a similar or cheaper price point.

For background context this will be worn all throughout South America and Southeast Asia and so I'll be dealing with temperatures as high as 100F and humidity above 90% in some areas. Will have access to washing clothes regularly, but the less frequently I have to wash things the better (so, odor control would be nice)

Budget: $50USD or cheaper per shirt
Activity Types: Daily walking, hiking, water activities
Features: UV Protection, Odor control

WNBA's Turnover Leader turns ball over in OT leading to Chelsea Gray hitting the game winning shot for the Las Vegas Aces

As usual in other close games this season Clark was subbed out in the final minute of the 4th quarter a couple times in favor of Lexie Hull because Hull is a better defender.
