Why do you think so many people struggle to accept the legitimacy of this diet and its more "extreme" counterparts?

I'm curious why you guys think so many people have what are effectively knee-jerk objections to this diet, or carnivore. Even if you don't "appeal to nature", the biochemistry is all laid out, and it's only a matter of accessing it. It's insane to me that people are fine eating what's considered food nowadays, especially when there indeed are cheaper meat options e.g. heart, brain, liver that don't necessarily have to set one back financially if they're struggling. There's just no real excuse for the negligence, but so many people associate vegetables and nuts with health for some reason, and can't even tell you why. "Fiber" is what it seems to come down to most of the time…

Why has shortness not been rooted out more intensely if there's such a widespread aversion to it?

This question may sound inflammatory, but as a short guy, I'm curious why tallness (given the positive traits that it supposedly represents) has not been selected for more intensely worldwide than it is. For what is said to be a globally desired characteristic, there are only a handful of nations that have what could be considered a substantial average height, most of those being Western (with the exception of some South Sudanese groups etc). Is there a reason for this? It means I can't tell if the height craze is just recent or perennial.

Why do you think birth rates are dropping worldwide?

I see this silly argument from those in developed nations that people there aren't having children because "the world is such a mess right now/cost of living is too high etc", yet those in less developed nations are still having children (although their rates are falling too for the most part). Curious what you enlightened folk think

Why did successful steppe nomadic cultures become sedentary?

This transition has never made sense to me. From the Bronze Age onwards (correct me if that's wrong), there is a consistent pattern of steppe nomads thriving, but over time they all seem to become agriculturalists like those from the regions they expand into. Is there any proposed reason for this? It makes little sense to me that these successful nomadic groups would want to emulate the lifestyles of those they conquer.

Anybody turned their life around after 25?

I graduated in the summer of 2023 with a Master's degree in Chemical Physics. I was ultimately wanting to go into patent law even before university began, but despite getting a few interviews after graduating, I didn't progress through any of them. I tried diversifying my career route into nuclear, consulting, and now development, but I've only had some four interviews over the past two years in those fields compared to the seven I had for patent law (which has now all but dropped off the face of the Earth). I've applied to countless jobs even entirely unrelated to my degree (from admin to accounting), but I've only heard rejections.

I'm incredibly demoralised as I never figured it would be this bad. I've been doing supply since 2024 and was lucky enough to get some experience with a family friend's personal products organisation in technical liaison which I've included on my CV (obviously), but it all doesn't seem to be making much of a difference. I'd appreciate it if anybody could provide advice if they've been in a similar position and succeeded, especially in this job market.

What's the deal with Omega-3s?

Are all polyunsaturated fatty acids not prone to oxidation? I understand that seed oils are avoided for this reason (high Omega-6 content), but what distinguishes Omega-3s then (which only differ in where their double bond is)? Surely a pan-fried salmon, for instance, would still contain oxidised PUFAs?

Is my underbite causing my profile asymmetry?

Attached are my right and left profile, respectively. I'm aware that I have an underbite, but there's something else that makes my left profile (second photo) look so much worse. Can somebody help me identify what's going on? Thank you.

How often do you consume seafood?

I aim to have salmon + mussels once a week when the fishmonger is open, but I haven't done so this week. Mostly worried about missing out on Vitamin D and manganese (respectively) although I do have steak, eggs and kefir every day, so hopefully those will compensate.

Developing lactose tolerance?

I've taken to drinking kefir every day to source calcium (and other nutrients) because I'm not lactase persistent. However, given my regular consumption of cultures (bacteria and yeast) in kefir that CAN break down lactose, would that not effectively make me lactose tolerant, meaning I could hypothetically digest milk provided I keep my kefir intake up?

What's surgery's limit, and who is it best suited to?

I've often heard people say that surgery can only do so much, which leads me to wonder what that limit is, specifically in reference to different people's attractiveness. For instance, would a 4 benefit from surgery more than a 6? I imagine the latter would have to undergo fewer immensely transformative operations and so would maybe have better mileage, but I'm not sure so I'd like to hear your thoughts.

What are your staples for gaining weight?

I've been having pitted Medjool dates filled with about a teaspoon of butter for years, and they're beyond addictive – in the best of ways. I'd be interested in hearing others' ideas!

To go with or without glasses?

I've tried many frames since I first started using glasses, but I've never been able to figure out which suit me best. I even tried thin rectangular ones when I was much younger, but those made me look like I worked in IT lol. Should I keep trying or go without? Thank you.
