I’m waiting to find out how much the first deposit will cost, because this looks PRICEY and I want to prepare for both payments. I’m also waiting for the size measurements to drop, since I’m worried that the sizes could be too small for me to fit into. 😞

To me, Cinderella is a story about community and support in the face of abuse. It’s absolutely beautiful to see the title character get the love she deserves from her Fairy Godmother, her animal friends and the Prince as a reward for her kindness and strength. Plus, Bibbidi Bobbidi Boo is a classic Disney BANGER. It’s so frustrating to see a lot of people overlook the fairy godmother in order to knock down Cinderella. They always assume she’s “passive” and needs rescuing from her Prince Charming, when he doesn’t even rescue her directly in the story at all (at least in the 1950 Disney version). All she wants is a night away from her mistreatment and to not be underneath anyone else. Her Godmother comes through for her and makes sure her magical night happens all before midnight. The Fairy Godmother is the TRUE hero of Cinderella and I wish more folks realized that.

What prompted me to make this post is that today, a bot account copied from a post I made a few years ago. I’m certainly not the only human account this has happened to (my username is ironic BTW). An influx of bot accounts have targeted this sub and posted stolen content from real users. Subreddit decay is happening here in real time and it needs to be promptly addressed by the moderation. This is the “dead internet theory” being a reality!!

My original post (first slide) has a carousel of photos and a caption describing additional details about the topic at hand, while the “rennanice” bot’s post (second slide) only uses the first photo and leaves out the caption altogether. As typical with copycat bot accounts, “rennanice” only joined this website hours ago and has very little karma. Of course, I promptly reported the copycat post as “spam” using a bot in a disruptive manner. I’ll update you if and when action is actually taken against “rennanice”.

UPDATE: the copycat post was removed by Reddit’s filter HOURS after I reported it.

What’s disturbing is that there are at least a few other bot posts that are STILL UP on this subreddit without any intervention from the mods. One bot post I commented on was only removed because it was detected by Reddit’s filters with zero involvement from a human moderator. Another bot post using a tilted screenshot from the human-made post it copied still hasn’t been removed and has gotten over 200 upvotes!! It’s incredibly sad to see a place I frequent fall to bot accounts that mostly go untouched due to mod incompetence. I hope to see a tighter grip on bots that makes this place more welcoming to Princess fans again.

It’s kinda irritating that all the photos are a bit far away because this set is GORGEOUS. I feel like it should be standard practice for brands to put close-up photos in preorder listings because details matter just as much as the whole picture and I don’t wanna be ripped off by poor quality pieces that only look good in photoshoots.
