Tips on making long straight hair look good?

I can't grow a beard to go along with it but want to make my longer hair still look nice. I have very straight hair so I feel like it's difficult to make it look good or interesting. This is with some dry shampoo and that's all

Feedback on reels don't seem to make sense to me.

I've made a few basic reels of the various voices I can do, but the feedback I get is that "it should only be one type of voice per reel", or "it needs to be short but show off your emotional range". Another thing I don't understand is why add music to the background? How exactly do you find what music to put with it? I've done pretty decent getting jobs so far but want to go as far with this as I can.

My main confusion comes from limiting what I show. If I'm trying to show my versatility for a role, shouldn't that include both emotional range as well as the range of voices I can do? How do you put that into a minute/minute in a half clip?

I upgraded some stuff and improved the sound quality drastically and I'm planning on making a new reel this weekend but I want to make sure I make it as good as I can.

For reference, here is the last reel I made when I was still booking some work but not working as frequently as I have the past couple weeks.

I cannot get my two dual shock controllers working

I have Dolphin as my emulator on emudeck for my steam deck. My controllers work for all my steamdeck games and all my other emulators but not in dolphin in either gaming mode or desktop mode. I've gone through and done all the configurations and it will not recognize them at all. I'm losing my mind. Can someone help?

Urevo walking pad, carpet, walking mat, and air vent

I have a Urevo walking pad that has its vent directly on the bottom of the treadmills top with the screen and motor. My problem I am running into is that my whole apartment is covered in carpet. I bought a rubber mat for it and have that under my desk and even though I am able to walk on it, it seems as though the mat is right against the vent and I worry it's restricting the air flow. The walking pad is typically pretty warm for about half an hour after about half an hour of use. I don't understand why they would place it on the bottom of the machine that would go against the floor

Exploring David Lynch

I am very interested in checking out David Lynch and his work. I picked up Mulholland Dr. On the last sale and while I certainly enjoyed parts of it I felt like a lot of stuff is simply random and would be considered a negative if it were done by any other director. When the credits rolled I genuinely didn't know what to even think or if I had any understanding of the film whatsoever. I wouldn't say that I hated it or anything, simply that I don't understand why it's held in such high regard. To my understanding, much of Lynch's style involves unexplained imagery and random weird visuals or plot lines.

Judging off that thought coming out of it, should I watch more Lynch? Did I not pick a good jumping in point? I've always heard such high praise of his work but again I feel like if any other director released the movie all the bizarre stylistic and plot choices would be viewed more as incoherent rather than cryptic artistry.

Did anyone else have this kind of reaction to lynch at first and then grow to love his work?

Switch and GameCube games don't allow 2 players?

For some odd reason, anytime I have tried to play 2 player games with two controllers connected it only responds to player 1s controller. It severely limits the games I can play with friends and wanted to see if anyone had advice on how to resolve this issue.

How do you determine what movies you decide to upgrade?

I have an absolute shit ton of DVDs (a literally overflowing bookshelf) and I've been upgrading various DVDs to 4ks. In the past couple months I've upgraded Boogie Nights, Blade Runner, Blade Runner 2049, The Big Lebowski, Nightcrawler, Malcolm X, Casino, The Social Network, Batman: Mask of the Phantasm, Pulp Fiction, Reservoir Dogs, No Country For Old Men, Apocalypse Now, The Untouchables, Ocean's 11, Raging Bull, Mean Streets, and the first 4 Indiana Jones movies.

This isn't counting all the movies I got the 4ks for that were not replacing movies I already owned on dvd or Blu ray. I have loved getting to watch these but man, it's honestly something where I feel like if I don't calm the hell down I'm going to replace every movie I own but there's so many sales I don't wanna miss out on. How have you all navigated this kinda thing?

I got a 4k tv as a pick me up after losing my dog to cancer in April but I think I've developed a shopping addiction. However, I will say that I feel as though my love of film has been fully reignited and it has been helpful.

I've only ever watched the Connery and Craig Bond films, am I truly missing out not having seen the others?

For context I prefer the more grounded vibe rather than the campy versions of things. I'm personally the same way with Batman. After playing First Light I was curious about potentially trying to view more of the Bond films but I know a lot of them fall more into the campy side of things and I'm not terribly interested in that. What are your thoughts?

I think Jeff Daniels is a very talented actor, but I don't know why you would cast him as Ronald Reagan

This is for the upcoming film Brink Of War

Been trying to grow my hair out but I have extremely straight hair

I hate the way it looks, obviously it looks like Anton from No Country which is really not what I'm going for. I don't want to dump a ton of product into my hair or do a perm but I genuinely have no clue what can be done with how straight and fine my hair is. Any advice is appreciated

NDS emulation....worth it?

I have the trim UI brick and have a variety of different consoles I use for the emulation. Game boy advance is the primary one that I use. I do know that apparently you're able to do it with a Nintendo DS, but I'm curious as to how that actually works since most of those games require a touch screen or being able to see two screens. Does anyone have advice or recommend doing NDS emulation or is it not worth the hassle?

I have genuine difficulty watching Cape Fear (1991) and not just seeing Donald Rumsfeld whenever Nick Nolte is on screen

What do you think is likely to be next for Rockstar after GTA 6?

Clearly, production will begin on a new game following GTA VI's release. I'm curious to know what everyone's thoughts are regarding what could potentially be on the creative conveyor belt for Rockstar.

RDR 3: due to the massive amounts of popularity, this seems like an obvious choice. That being said, since they did make that their last game in between GTA VI and GTA V I'm not certain that this is the franchise that they're immediately going to select to jump back into. I think that Red Dead 2 is easily one of the best games ever made so I wouldn't necessarily be mad if this was the path they chose.

Bully 2: while a long shot, bully has garnered a pretty massive cult following over the years. We know that there were at least two attempts to develop a sequel that was scrapped. Dan howser cited the primary issue with the development being bandwidth issues, so with as much time passing and technological advancement as we have had since their last attempt, maybe that would give them a reason to return to this project.

L.A. Noire 2 or spiritual successor: much like Bully, this game has developed a pretty massive cult following. Arguably more than Bully has. Couple this with them appointing Brendan Mcnamara (the head project director on L.A. Noire) as head of a rockstar development studio in Australia and you do have an interesting case for this being likely. I would have to imagine given the controversy Mcnamara had with L.A. Noire's development that they would have to feel like they NEED him for something specific to provide him a leadership role again. Along with that you have the progression in technological developments that would allow a more fully realized vision of the facial reading initially envisioned for the original game's interrogation gameplay. There was an attempted sequel in development previously but was ultimately dropped prior to the completion. However, Rockstar has not abandoned this intellectual property entirely. In more recent years they released a VR Port, and more importantly a remaster which to me shows their interest in keeping this franchise in the public eye. There have been quotes from higher ups at Rockstar talking about how they view L.A Noire as one of their major franchises.

Max Payne 4: rumors recently began circling around the remasters for the original 2 PlayStation 2 titles being developed as of recently. This could certainly be an indication that they plan on attempting to continue this franchise.

New game: there have been a number of canceled or rumored original projects in more recent years. Games such as Spy, which I think is going to be less likely due to the success of Hitman and the likely success of James Bond: First Light later this month. The most recent rumor I've heard regarded an open world style game set in medieval times. While I think a game like that would have a more difficult time competing with something like Kingdom Come Deliverance, I do know that Warhorse Studios did offer to assist Rockstar in development if that was the project they decided to work on next.

I'm curious as to what everyone here speculates to be next. Personally I'd love all of these options but I think the best and potentially most likely is a spiritual successor to L.A. Noire. To me, the hiring of McNamara to lead Rockstar Australia, the advancements in facial scan tech, the massive cult following, and most importantly the lack of ANY other franchise or game to fill the void that game left all seem like great reasons to begin work on that particular project.
