Hint: >!one of the new tanks was considered a massive failure the first time it was actually deployed in force against an infinitely more famous tanks!<
The Orion Autocracy were running into problems with their expansion. After all, an empire built on exploitation and slavery needed an ever increasing amount of sapients to fuel their growing economy. But at least, due to the increase of new working class population, the Autocrat was able to make good on his promise to subsidize every Orion with the necessary resources for survival at no cost. They even had such a surplus that the latest benefits included a modern computer system and on demand access to the universal extranet for every Orion citizen. Truly, a paragon of the idea of "panem et circenses."
But their expansion. The Autocracy had known once they embarked on this mission, they would need to constantly stay two steps ahead of their enemies. Their hovertanks and exofighters, already considered superior to their adversaries, were taking ever increasing casualties. This was to be expected, as anybody would rush to find a new method to deal with their enemies equipment. But their latest upgrade package, the Tandi Block 15 class, failed to properly meet their expectations. Despite upgrading their reactive armor to a self-repairing ablative variant, the new tanks kept getting mission killed. Not destroyed, the crews were usually still alive, just rattled, but rendered inoperable. Camera systems were a favorite target, as they would be rendered inoperable by snipers from afar. Such a tank became a burden on the Autocracy's military, as infantry that would usually be clearing a building were instead diverted to escort the disabled tank outside of the engagement area.
And so with great haste, the Block 16 was expedited. Transparent aluminum armor now protected the cameras, and the number of tanks getting operation killed quickly dropped for a while, right before shooting back up again. This time, tanks were losing their horizontal traverse, as very little armor protected the mechanism itself. Enemy hovertanks, some of them even tracked variants that fired a metal dart kept threading the needle between the turret and hull that wrecked havoc on the sensitive mechanism. At least the tanks were still operable, but complaints were rapidly arising between drivers and gunners who found themselves frequently at odds with one another. Again, another upgrade package was rolled out.
This cycle continued for over a year. A vulnerability would be discovered and ruthlessly exploited, military progress would grind to a halt, a fix would be implemented, before a new vulnerability would become another issue. And most concerning, the time for these new fixes to no longer solve the problem was shrinking. The Autocracy attempted to see if there was an espionage leak, but it quickly came up empty as the population was wildly content if not fiercely patriotic. Thankfully, they were still making some progress, so it would take some time until their economy of conquest could no longer be self sustaining. But perhaps it might be time to start putting an end to military endeavors, as they attempt to consolidate their gains.
Meanwhile, in a newly discovered sector far behind the frontlines, Terran intelligence agents were having a meeting. Their ascension to the galactic stage had been very sudden, and they were still confined to a single planet in an era of empires spanning multiple solar systems.
"How is work on the Mesk class reconissance vehicle?"
"Thanks to the post by user OrionSupremacist493, we have managed to accurately model their internals, but still we lack information related to the new APDS ammunition designated as V8421, despite being referred to as next-gen."
"Make it a miniscule upgrade to its predecessor, somebody should step in to correct the round before long. How are our financials?"
"Thanks to the economy rework, our sales of premium accounts and packs have jumped over 200%. We will be at the goal to fund the space elevator within 3 months time, although I do worry that our rapid infrastructure development is outpacing how much we can expand as a planet."
"When the Mesk class is released, give it a 30% discount for a week. I trust our diplomats will be able to give us another nice boost to our finances selling the information we have gathered to other nations. Perhaps we will be able to launch our first colony far ahead of schedule."

The entire army is gone. Not dead, gone. The general commanding disappears, the barracks get deleted, so on. PDX please fix.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Type_93_torpedo
Japanese torpedoes were considered superior to Allied torpedoes during WW2 as their use of oxygen tanks enabled them to hide the distinctive white bubbling trail that gave away the location of the torpedo. However, in game, all torpedo models have the same white trail. Due to bad game design, it is relatively hard to tell distances without a lot of scrolling with distance adjustment with the green cursor, but you can clearly see that even at a long distance the trail is still visible.
For comparison, British torpedoes have been screenshotted in the same manner, and the same distinctive trail is visible in both pictures
