What reusable items do I buy so I don't have to keep buying for every party I host?

I started hosting dinner parties about a year ago for my family and friends and I've come to enjoy it. I typically host anywhere from 6 to 8 people so not a big group, and it's really simple like no decors, just good food and some games. We recently moved to a bigger house with about 100 sqm yard. so I'm excited to finally up my game when hosting.

What are the things that I should buy so that I don't have to keep buying stuff when I host? Like things I can reuse, and decors as well so that there could be variety. Maybe string lights? But where do we hang it? I'm thinking of buying one of those arches that can be disassembled when you don't use it anymore? Will that work? Or is there a much simpler way?

The events I host are my birthday, my husband's birthday, we recently had a child as well so we will start to host for baby's birthday too, New Year's eve, occasional Christmas day lunch.

Aiming for elegant but not plain vibe when hosting.

I appreciate the help.

Workplace Survival 101

I'm thinking of facilitating a webinar para sa mga fresh grads or yung magjojoin pa lang sa workforce.

It will be like "Things nobody teaches you before you enter the workforce" ganun.

Ito yung mga naisip kong ituturo:

- common practices and tips sa paghahanap ng trabaho.

- common hiring practices.

- common job scams.

- paano magbasa ng job offer at employment contract.

- probationary vs. regular. Contractor vs. Regular

- remote work doesnt automatically mean VA ka na.

- govt mandated benefits

- red flags sa contract

- learn the game of work type. Like how to do a good job pag may work ka na, like performance is not enough, visibility and communication matters too. How to navigate the workplace ganyan.

May magiging interested ba dito? Yung totoong information lang na magagamit talaga. How much are you willing to pay? Naisip ko maybe 2 hours na session with a 15 min break in between.

Ang magtuturo ay yung kaibigan ko who does this occasionally for small schools. With more than 10yrs experience, sanay na sya sa mga ganito kaya marami syang natuturo. I've seen one of her sessions and very helpful talaga for newbies. Para syang ate mo for adulting stuff. Hindi sya content creator. She's been an applicant and a hiring manager too, may business rin. Pag kasado na to, I will add her profile dun sa sign up form para mas credible.

What to put on the awkward space beside the couch?

We just moved in to our new home so curtains were haphazardly put up, barely. There's a space on the side of the couch where the black console table is. Not really sure if that's a console table tho it was my husband's furniture from his old house.

We're going to buy a bigger dining table so we will move the a little sofa closer to the wall to make room for the dining table. This is to accommodate our growing family.

What should we put on the side of the sofa? There's a power outlet on that wall so maybe a floor lamp? Maybe a small table?

Should we move the black console table somewhere else so the drapes can flow freely?

Thanks I'm on my wit's end because of unpacking and the mess. :(

Pedia sa Angeles City, Pampanga

Title.

Please recommend a good pedia. Thanks!

Woodworking classes here

Anyone knows someone who can teach woodworking here? I saw Wood Academy sa metro manila pero malayo kasi. Tesda naman walang inooffer. PSU need mag enroll as a full time student, hindi pedeng yung woodworking classes lang nila ang itake.

Okay sana yung Wood Academy one day lang pero ang layo for me right now. May marerecommend ba kayo?

Thanks!

What kind of blinds/curtains for the sliding doors and windows?

Image 1 is the dining area, POV from the living area adjacent to the dining area. The door, which will be painted green as well to make it a hidden door, leads to the kitchen. The sliding windows on the left leads to the porch on the side of the house.

Image 2 shows the sliding doors and the windows next to it. The door leads to the porch.

Please help me what should we put on the sliding doors and 2 windows on the side of it? Maybe curtains on one rod to cover all of them? Or roman shades? I live in the Philippines so it's hot most of the time. Thank you

Books about business journey or climbing career ladder

Hi everyone! Hindi yung tips na tungkol sa business but yung story sana ay from the POV of the owner who built it. Just raw story with all the ups and downs.

Naghahanap rin ako ng book about someone who has climbed the career ladder. Not just advice but sana written from the POV of the person who actually did it.

Ireregalo ko sa isang friend ko na very driven sa business and career sana. :) Thank you sa mga makakapagrecommend.

Please put a trigger warning for miscarriage posts!!!

Please be sensitive naman. For pregnant moms na nag-ooverthink na tapos makakabasa pa ng mga posts na ganun, or even the moms na nagka miscarriage before but don't want to relieve the experience, it's just terrible.

You can post here about your miscarriage, just please put a trigger warning in the post's title.

Kailan nagnonotify sa company ang SSS about MatBen?

Asking for a friend trying to OE. Wala na rin syang need gawin, as in mag back to work na lang sya.

Mag sstart sya ng J2 roughly 2 weeks after nyang bumalik sa J1. Regular job ito with benefits and all. I read somewhere here na nahuli yung isang OE dahil nagnotify sa both companies yung SSS about maternity leave.

So my question is: after all the process ba, may notification pang isesend si SSS kay employer about MatBen? Possible ba na magkaproblem si friend ko?

Thanks

Mas madali bang palitan ang diaper pants kesa taped diapers?

Question is in the title. Wala akong makitang online tutorial pano palitan ang diaper pants. Mas madali ba yun kesa taped? Mas maraming coverage ba kesa sa taped?

Edited: Actually asking on behalf of my SIL. 3 months old yung baby nya and liquidy pooper parang peanut butter kaya nagfoflow. Tapos 7 to 8 hours matulog sa gabi kaya minsan nagfoflow sa likod nya yung ihi nya. Naka one size bigger na taped diaper and secured ang pagkakalagay ng diaper kaya iniisip if mas okay diaper pants para di magflow patalikod yung ihi? Assuming diaper pants have more coverage than taped diapers?

Paano kapag magcr daughter with dads when you're outside?

Asking on behalf of my SIL. My brother and SIL have a daughter na 3.5 yo potty trained na. Di sila pala-labas talaga kasi sakitin yung bata.

Dinadala ba sa men's room then to cubicle?

Thank you

Hoping for stories from people na nakagawa na nito. I want to learn from you guys. How did you prepare for it? How much ang gastos nyo?

Thank you!

Edited to add: Sa mga nagdownvote sakin because I asked about student loans. Chill, we're rich and have multiple rental properties. Nabanggit ko lang to dahil my dad, who is a british citizen, kept on saying na students can get this and institutions there prioritize hiring people with student loans to pay back the govt.
