Impossible to eat pastry
There are these pastries that someone thought it will be a great idea putting thick soft layer of cream in between two hard crusts, so when you bite all the soft cream pushes to the sides before there's enough resistance for teeth to bite through hard crusts.
Always a mess and never get a proper taste of the best part, if not dismantled to pieces before that is.
Ever feel naked when not wearing the watch?
My first watch was gift from godfather at 15 years old. From that moment on I continued on my own and always had and wore watch daily.
I do, not so seldom, feel naked on street or while riding a bicycle. If I'm not wearing the watch for a moment it feels same as if I'm without clothes on.
[Leather check] Stock name?
I've added some small details on trouser pockets to add rigidity. It's all done, it looks and functions great.
Now, I want to make some other small things from leather, but I can't find this exact leather stock that fits me perfectly. Local shop that first gave me small cut-off doesn't have any more or know the name reference.
I will be appreciative if you can share me which type of leather stock is this. As from what I can see, it is brow tanned, mat, non textured and soft leather.
Let me know if I can share more images.
Bivy vs. Tent as an alternative?
Heyo,
In past month I bought myself some nice camping gear, I think it's not ultralight but sure is light, thats weights 1,7kg/3,75lbs. I started off with Ticket to the Moon Pro Mat Hammock and work out what I need around it.
My first proper camping was back in 2018. with a tent, but then or ever after, I never truly enjoyed camping as much as I enjoy one day hikes and being outdoors. Being wrapped in sleeping bag on small size sleeping mat that I have to accept being comfortable never worked for me. I gave it a try couple of times but it always ruined the trip.
Hammock overrides all of this in a single swipe. It's light, easy and fast to setup, comfortable with mat pocket, has allot of room and poses you can sleep or rest in. This in combination with quilt works perfect.
I went and bought TttM Lightest Quilt and Lightest Tarp, Rab Ultrasphere 5 LongWide and Big Agnes Fly Creek UL. It's complete sleeping setup for 1,7kg/3,75lbs. I've been using it for a month straight and have no drawbacks, wake up rested with energy.
It wasn't my full intention to go "ultralight", still I'm very happy how light things are so I want to keep it that way with my next purchase.
I need to extend this with bivy or tent that will be of use as alternative to hammock when/if I'm in a situation where there are no trees for suspending hammock.
At the moment I'm bigger fan of bivy since it takes less to set-up and most don't require extra tarp.
I've dug through websites and found Big Agnes Three Wire bivy and Rab Storm bivy that are close calls to what I'm looking for. Big Agnes Three Wire comes only in red and Rab Storm has no suspension pole in head area.
Are there any similar options around or ideas how to modify these two bivys?

Local authority in dutch province "friesland" is calling their purge of Sand Martin and accident. Please help in spreading the message
All credit to u/_Homo_Habilis_ for providing the sources as well as the video/photo
The video above was taken a day before they killed them all in their "accident". There were so many, likely hundreds in total.
Their excuse was that they were planning on leveling this dune, and didnt know there were birds (which already seems weird). The follow up picture will be posted in the comments, as I am not allowed to post both the after image and the before video. So the after image will be either in the comments (if possible) or on my profile.
It is genuinely insane to call this an accident, they literally covered only this hole with dirt, its unmistakably on purpose. This was likely done because, had the birds survived, they wouldn't be allowed to destroy this area for houses, since it would need to be preserved. This is both illegal and sad.
