Recently put up a feeder with peanuts and been getting a lot of red-winged blackbirds. Located in north central Fl
Recently got a hummingbird feeder for my backyard (north Florida). I’m addicted to watching them
Is my form ok? This was my 3rd set of 5 at a weight that is very heavy for me, it felt fine but I wasn’t sure if I was arching my back too much
Was on vacation staying with family at a house on the Halifax river in Fl. House had a nice little dock out back. Bought a fishing pole because I figured what the hell, idk what I’m doing, but it’ll be fun. First few day I was just casting out into the river. Didn’t catch much, mostly stingrays, catfish, and one little bonnet head shark.
My last day at the house, I wanted to sit in the shade, so I decided to cast right under the dock which allowed me to sit in a shaded area. FIRST CAST I caught dinner. I am such a rookie, I didn’t know all the tasty fish hang out under docks/near pilings. I thought the water was too shallow down there. Caught a few small mangrove snapper and a small flounder after this revelation. Sad that it wasn’t until my final day that I made this discovery, but I still had a lot of fun
Hi all,
Just bought a house with a red navel orange tree in the backyard. Didn’t look super healthy when we moved in (~1 mo ago) so I’ve fertilized it twice and have been spraying leaves with neem oil 1x per week because of mites and some white powder mildew looking stuff. Today I saw one of the fruits has fallen off and looks terrible. I’m thinking the tree has HLB, but I would love for someone to tell me I’m wrong!! I’m located in North Florida.
Tbh I’ve always hated squats, they’ve never felt comfortable and I always felt like it’s my low back/core that’s the limiting factor and not my legs. I’ve also never been able to hit depth without elevating my heels. Alas, I am trying to improve my back squat, but want to make sure my form is good before I start spamming them
Tufted titmouse is a big ole bully
Recently bought a house with a two car garage, and have been so excited to get a little home gym set-up. Still a few more things to add, but really happy with how it has come together so far
I recently bought a power rack for my garage. It came with dip handles, but I feel like the distance between the handles is too wide for me? I don’t have any pain doing them but they definitely feel harder than what I’m used to with narrower handles.
Just bought a house that has an orange tree in the backyard. I love oranges so I was really excited to have a tree. However, I don’t know the first thing about gardening so I’m not sure if the tree looks “good” or if I should be doing anything specific to care for it. Located in north Florida
We closed today, Friday at 1pm, on our first home and all was well! Rented a moving truck for the next day, my mom was planning to come in to town next morning to help us get settled, and we were (and still are) so excited to get into our first home. We even had our cars packed and went straight from closing and started moving stuff in.
5:30pm rolls around, we’re packing up our cars for another trip, and the sellers agent contacts our agent and says that the sellers didn’t receive their wire transfer today, so we cannot move in. Tried to investigate, and we did get confirmation that the wire was initiated, but I guess since it was late on a Friday, funds didn’t reach the seller and now we have to wait. I never knew that was a requirement, and no one during our closing appointment said anything about waiting until sellers receive funds to access the property. And with it being late on a Friday, we can’t reach the title company for any more info.
In the grand scheme of things, it’s not THAT big of a deal but it is disappointing because we had everything planned to move this weekend. I also just feel naive, I thought once we close then the house is ours! Just fortunate that we have a little wiggle room as the lease for our current rental doesn’t end for another week so we don’t have to be out immediately. Just going to have to take some days off from work next week to move 🙃
Has anyone else faced similar obstacles thanks to Friday afternoon closings, or were we just uninformed about the timeline?
Editing with an update as of today (Saturday): The title company sent an email to the seller’s agent yesterday at 4pm. Seller’s agent shared this with our agent, and again this is all the info I can get at the moment with it being a weekend. Title company said that they received confirmation from our lender that the wire has been initiated and will send confirmation once it is received. However they (title company) have a wire cutoff time so any wires that they need to send out will likely not go through until Monday morning.
We have also requested an updated closing statement with pro-rations starting on 6/15 (instead of our closing date 6/12). It’s probably an insignificant amount of money, but on principle, we don’t want to be paying property taxes and HOA fees from 6/12 - 6/15 since we have been informed that we cannot take possession of the home until 6/15.
Thanks everyone for the helpful comments. Hopefully by sharing this, we will save some other first time buyers from the headache that this has been for us
Moving in to this house soon, and I’m not sure what kind of seating to use in the breakfast nook. It’s not a very large space, and I’m not crazy about having chairs so close to the wall because they can be a pain to get in and out of. Wondering if banquette style seating would work here? Or any other suggestions for smaller breakfast nook spaces would be appreciated
Hi, I was recently prescribed Efudex cream for a spot on my face next to my nose. I had the spot for about a year, and it would scab over and bleed occasionally. No biopsy was taken, but they said to apply the Efudex for 2 weeks and see if there was any reaction. I’m almost at my 2 week mark, wondering what I should expect during my follow up

I’ve never seen such a cute spider in my life. He/she is now free outside again! Anyone know the species? (Located in north/central Florida)
I saw a dermatologist for a small spot next to my nose that I was concerned about. It’s a little pink spot that I’ve had for about a year that tends to scab over and bleed periodically. Was prescribed Efudex cream to spot treat the area, with the plan to reevaluate after two weeks and see how it was doing. Almost at my two week mark, wanted some dermatologist opinions on how it’s looking so I may know what to expect during my follow-up.
