when I press the back bios button, the pc turns on for 1 second and turns off again.

Even when I plug a usb key with the firmware file on it. Is there a max partition size and type that the motherboards requires?

I just bought the board, and to my surprise, it looks like it is not possible to replace the cr232 battery without first:

- unmount the whole motherboard from the case

- flip it over

- remove three screws from the back of the motherboard

- flip it over again

- remove the m.2 cooling plate

- remove the chipset cooling plate beneath the m.2 cooling plate

And then repeat in the reverse order. This is so stupid, or am I missing something?

Hi, I'm having difficulty figuring out what speed drop I can expect from a x870e motherboard with usb4 and m2 nvme slot sharing, so x2 and x2.

I would occasionally use an external 40gbps nvme enclosure at 3500Mb/s on large read/write. How would that drop when going from x4 to x2?

Similarly, how would a gen5 nvme ssd performance drop on large read/write Mb/s when going from x4 to x2?

Hi, I have a question about the premiere status of my film.

It won best special effects at an Italian intl. film festival, and I'd like to submit it to another Italian film festival which asks the premiere status for the Italian region.

Please note that the first film festival didn't show the film, and we were discouraged from attending in person. There was virtually no public and very limited screenings because of the very recent passing of one of the organisers.

Is it right to assume that my film did not premiere in Italy? It would feel wrong to me to say that it premiered in Italy despite not being screened and the event being virtually not public.

we're going by moped, or like we say in Italy, by scooter. Is it easy to park nearby with a scooter without needing to walk too much and needing to pay for car parking fees?

I'm thinking of getting a aorous elite x870e x3d eventhough I don't have a x3d cpu. I have a 9700x.

Purely because this board has better lane sharing compared to the non x3d board.

Any downside?

Also, price is similar to the msi tomahawk with similar features, why would you recommend the gigabyte over msi or asus?

How does it behaves when mounting mid tier cpus like 4070s and not 5090s on the pcigen5 x 8 (because of lane sharing with m.2)?

Somebody says that pcigen5 x8 = pcigen4 x16. But I'm not convinced; it seems to me that the 4070 would run at pcigen4 x8.

Why is this board classed as gaming, but not mag meg mpg and not listed on the website as gaming on its own?
where does it sit in trends of quality compared to mag gaming boards?

tbh, it appears to have the exact components seen on mag x870e gaming boards minus some bios features.

I can't find reviews of this board. I can only find reviews of the max version, which is much more expensive, and that has Realtek LAN-WiFi instead of Qualcomm 7800.

I bought the X870e gaming plus wifi (non-max) and had all sorts of problems this week. Now, it's likely the CPU. But in my searches, I found endless posts of people with Wi-Fi, LAN, lan and memory issues

The experience left a bitter taste in my mouth.

Honestly, is this board a good long-term board, and are all issues ironed out? stability, black screens, and especially wifi and LAN issues.

I guess that the first batch of x870e MSI boards, like this one, are hardware-plagued by some issues which have been resolved quietly by the release of the max versions; for instance, Qualcomm has been replaced by Realtek.

I'm considering returning it and replacing it with an Asus X870e TUF Gaming Plus Wi-Fi. But I'm open and would love to hear if the board's hardware is fine and it is now mature and stable enough to use.

I updated to the latest BIOS available. I also noticed that the Qualcomm drivers on the MSI websites are one year old. There are newer drivers from January 2026 on the Lenovo website, but not on the MSI website. Is MSI dropping support and updates for this board?

I'm a big fan of the reimagined Battlestar Galactica 2003 tv series. It introduced novel ideas and approaches, and the story and characters are compelling and 3dimensional.

But

it shows its age in the form of longer-than-needed seasons, with alternating episodes that serve the story and filler episodes.

Has anybody done a cut of the complete seasons reducing the runtime and (in my opinion) condensing and improving the material?
