The actual amount of peanut butter in these white chocolate peanut butter bears.

These things weren't cheap either. If you're a parent, you're intimately familiar with being guilt tripped into buying expensive fundraiser candy. They were like 10 bucks, and they weren't even good. The "white chocolate" just tastes like straight sugar. No flavor. Could even taste the peanut butter. 0/10.

Controller swap

I have a 1999 club car ds with a series motor. 48 volt, lithium swapped. Will a controller swap get more speed? I got a 3 mph increase with the lithium swap. I'm currently running about 19 mph. I'd like to get it closer to 25. Can't really afford a motor swap right now, but maybe a controller swap would help? Is there anything speed adjustment on the stock components?

TIFU by becoming unceremoniously embarrassed

This is a story from ye olde high-school archives. I was in V.I.C.A. (vocational and industrial clubs of America). I was the vice president for the southeast Missouri district. More like the president because that guy never showed up.

We had to dress fancy and wear these itchy red polyester blazers, with black pants, white dress shirt, black dress shoes and black tie. I also had a plethora of tiny and annoying pins that I had to put on my lapels. Packed into a crowded auditorium, I was hot, itchy, and ready to get the day over with so I could go back the hotel and flirt with the many cute girls in attendance.

One of my dress shoes had some rubber coming off the heel that kept getting caught on stuff. Probably should've glued that back down, but I didn't think of it while packing my overstuffed suitcase. Now I'm 200 miles from home, and nowhere near Walmart. Definitely a new experience for me.

We had to do the opening ceremonies for the conferences and stuff, which consisted of each officer lighting a candle and placing it on a V-shaped stand, and then flipping the page on a giant transparent flip book and telling what the symbol meant. All the pieces overlaid to form the logo for the organization. It was a whole thing. You had to be there.

As I'm going up to place my candle, that piece of rubber on my shoe caught on the carpet and I tripped. I rolled down the steps of the stage with my lit candle, and caught both the carpet and the sleeve of my blazer on fire. Fire extinguishers were brought out. The sprinklers didn't go off, thankfully. I was now missing a good chunk of my blazer sleeve, and we didn't pack extras so I was stuck with it.

This was in front of a couple thousand people. I still had to get back up and complete the opening ceremonies, and then do other duties and greet people for the 3 days of that conference, burnt sleeve and all. Did I mention that it was also televised on all the local news stations?

TL;DR: Broken shoe caused an embarrassing (and flammable) moment.

Cool rock

What kind of rock is this? Found in a creek bed in southeast Missouri. Looks like it used to be a sphere but was broken at some point. The grayish bands have a sort of metallic look to them that doesn't show up well on camera.

Find of the week

This thing is huge. Can easily fit two people. Queen size bed for scale. Paid 15 bucks at the thrift store. It's heavy duty canvas with a real flannel liner. Like carhart jacket material. Very thick. Can use it as a mattress topper it's so comfy.

Sideburn blunder

This was 20 years ago. What was I thinking with those sideburns? I don't think they were fashionable even back in 2006. Thankfully my wife still though I was cute. She still does, especially since I make much better facial hair choices now. 23 vs 43. Big difference.

2010

I don't even know what to call that hairstyle. I was 24. I definitely wasted my best hair years. Lol

Speedometer question

I upgraded to the chins lithium battery. I get 18 mph with everything else stock. Gained 3 mph with the swap. Takes off way faster and hits top speed pretty quick. Doesn't slow down going uphill like before. Would a controller get a little more speed, or will that not work with the stock motor? And can somebody recommend a good speedometer/odometer?

Big time balloon fail.

Wife ordered balloons for my kid's birthday party from Etsy. This was how they arrived. They're supposed to say "I ain't aftaid of no ghost". How do you mess up the spelling SO incredibly badly!? Went back to request a refund and the seller's account was mysteriously gone. Had to do a chargeback on our card to get our money back.

Huge plant

Grew im really fast. Looks to be about to bloom yellow flowers. Almost looks like a sunflower, but seems way too short for that, and the leaves look wider. I didn't plant it, it just grew there. Southeast Missouri.

Garage sale leftovers

There was a garage sale this morning at this house. Driving by later that day just to see if anything was left, we spotted these. Best believe I snatched those up.

Snail statue

Someone said I should post my thrifting find here. He's huge. Normal brick for scale.

Picked this up at the local thrift store yesterday.

He needs some tlc. Probably gonna strip it and stain it gray. It's very thick terracotta. It'll hold stain well. Paint, not so much. My kid calls it Larry the snail.
