[TOMT] creature sighting videos. one with something walking in desert, with with something by car, one with creature in house. some possibly in the same video

ever since i was 7 ive loved watching creature videos. im in my mid teens and now, so i would've probably been 10-12 when i saw this. my guess is maybe 2021 latest, but it was probably uploaded before then

basically the video(s) were on a channel like chills (the burger king foot lettuce guy) or something similar. they might have been the same video

the first one was called something like 'top 10 scariest creatures caught in deserts'. one of the supposed creatures was like this figure covered by lots of hair or a cloak or something in a desert. it walked really slowly, and had like black feet and a dark face maybe. it was really pixelated so hou couldnt really tell, and im pretty sure it was recorded up in the air. like from a helicopter or something. it was maybe in Arizona or Nevada according to the video (if i remember correctly)

the second one might have been from the same video (probably not tho). all i remember was a car and there being some sort of creepy guy who they called a 'zombie'. it was really grainy and the zombie was liek walking in the middle of the road but then like disappeared. it was in a wooded area i think. possibly could have been about Chernobyl or nukes or something. or maybe on the nukes top 5 channel

the third one was like a guy going around his house looking for something, and then he got to a storage room or something and there was a face looking at him through a shelf or something. he might have dropped his camera or got attacked by it off camera or something but i dont remember. this one was also in a desert and might of started outside the house. if i remember correctly, apparently someone had gone missing.

and no, the third one isnt that freddy krueger/zombie sighting in one of the chills zombie videos where theres a guy calling out for 'ali' or something in his basement. i think you can also find it on a channel called 'billschannel' under the name 'freddy Krueger sighting real or fake?' or something like that

YouTube recommending random channel to send videos to

i wanted to copy the link for a song on yt and randomly got recommended this random channel to send to. i have never watched their vidoes in my life and have no idea who they are. its kind of weirding me out a bit because i feel like it means ive sent them something before or theyre in my contacts or something but idk. every video has the same thing not just this one

why is this happening?

thanks

edit: theyre also like a lolcow of some sort after looking at their channel. no offense to them obviously

were they influenced by hüsker dü?

I was listening to like a ritual today and it reminded me of a song but i couldn't figure out what it was for like the entire day until just now. it was this: https://youtu.be/DxKcEurO5jA?is=OwX-hoS8vNvRcaCd

for the record im not saying they ripped off this song. its just 4 chords in a forward and aggressive rocky structure idk

but also theyre both shoegaze adjacent hardcore bands

so is there like any influence (they we know of) from hüsker dü onto title fight?

how to make snare sound like this

i saw this really cool drum cover of the equally really cool emo band first day back on Instagram (i didnt link the video n screen recorded the corner instead just in case they dont want it like posted to Reddit or something).

this is the greatest snare sound ive ever heard

the snare itself looks quite shallow but i asked them and they said they didnt know the brand and it was just like at a rental studio or whatever. it was metal too

for the record i have no experience with drums, but if i ever learn them, or get to like dictate how they sound, i want the snare to sound like this

so like how do i make a snare drum sound this way?

how are polvo math rock?

BEFORE YOU DOWNVOTE ME OR WHATEVER I AM A POLVO FAN. I LOVE THEM

i hear polvo get called math rock a lot but i dont really see how they are. they have one song thats not in 4/4 that I've heard, and a couple parts in songs that use weird time sigs, but all of their other stuff is in 4/4. ive only listened to the early stuff tho (everything before exploded drawing) so maybe the mathy stuff comes later

also im a firm believer in 'just because a band uses weird time signatures occasionally doesn't mean theyre math rock'. for example, Calm (one of my favourite bands) (the band before duster) has a song that has 3 measures of 4/4 in the bridge section instead of 4, and a snippet of a song in like 5/4 or something, but everything else is in 4/4, yet they get called math rock instead of post hardcore or emo or shoegaze or whatever they are

is it more to do with style polvo plays in? like sort of noodly angular stuff?

or did they just inspire a bunch of math rock bands?

i might be completely wrong so sorry if i am

what is this time signature?

i didnt really know where to post about this but i thought this would be the best place

theres this really obscure math rock band from the 90s called heavy vegetable and ive been trying to figure out how their song saloon (https://youtu.be/qxkvtR9tHYI?is=hhYlfLYXuGFnGOQ4) is structured.

i know nothing about music theory but from what i can tell its like triplets in 4/4 or 8/8 or 4/8 or something, but then one part goes into a quintuplet (its a few seconds in) and i was wondering how that would actually be structured

for the record im trying to make a guitar tab for it and genuinely cannot figure put what the quintuplet part would be because thats like too slow or something. for the record its at around 120 bpm (i think)

how to stop bass sounding so metallic

when i play the E and A strings they sound really sort of metallic (i guess thats the best way to describe it). like the high end is really weird. the D and G is fine though

i play a kay k-2b (i think it has hoffner violin bass pickups or something similar) with the volume full and tone around 7. my amp is an ampeg rocket bass 112 with these settings: bass full, mids 6-7, treble 5.5-6. when sgt is on (when the metallic sound is most present) i have it set to 6.5, 8.5, or full. i also use a bass big muff nano sometimes which fixes the metallic sound.

i got my strings changed around a week ago which could be the issue. my actions also pretty high but im getting that fixed. my strings are ernie ball short scale regular slinky bass (45-105)

amp sounds different in two different places. how do i fix this?

i know i just posted on here but i had another thing to ask about

basically i play guitar in two main places. they are in separate houses and have different areas that i play them in

basically i use a very cheap single speaker combo amp because i havent upgraded it ever (ive only been playing guitar for about 3-ish years, maybe slightly more).

in one place (my main place), i really like my tone. i use guitar->OD->big muff->guitar and it sounds great. roaring and bassy and everything else i like. really smooth sounding too.

the setup in this place is my amp with a wall quite near behind it, a cabinet about a foot away from it on the left, nothing really in front of it except for a couple pedals, and nothing on the right of it for a few feet. i sit on an office chair type of thing here

in place 2 i get the opposite. same setup, but terrible tone. its too muddy, aggressive, spitty, velcro-y. it makes my big muff sound like a fuzz factory when i have the od engaged, and really really bad even when its just the muff.

i sit on the couch here. the amp has an ottoman to the right of it pretty close, nothing really behind it, and a shelf about a foot or two on its left.

How do i make it sound good in place 2? do i need to try replicate the conditions of place 1? is it because of the electrical grounding or something?

thank u

best speaker for me

in a few months ill be getting an EHX Mig 50 and will need a cab to go along with it. my budget isnt massive so ive decided to go with one of the harley benton 2x12s, but im stuck between getting the one with v30s and the one with creambacks. which one is better for me?

i play a j mascis jazzmaster through the bridge pickup with the tone knob rolled off a bit. i might get humbuckers in it eventually

i play clean, but also use:

a marshall bb2. im planning to get a BATW witchburner as a replacement for that because it has more bass

i run that into a jhs crimson which is also very bass heavy and mids boosted

i also sometimes use delay, a bit of reverb, chorus and/or phaser, maybe some other stuff

as for amp settings:

i keep it clean or very lightly broken up. through the mig50 ill probably use the normal input.

my amp settings on my current amp (a very cheap combo) are: treble 4, bass 10, mids 8. ill adjust those a bit for the mig50 obviously, and probably keep presence low (around 2-4).

i dont want my tone to be too dark to have a bit of clarity, but still very dark. i also dont want it to sound boxy or honky or whatever the bad things that come with having too much mids are. obviously i use a lot of mids and font mind the stuff thats perceived as bad when it comes to low mids but the mid mids and high mids are my concern. i also want my treble to sound airy and soft instead of harsh, but still have a bit of bite.

...so should i get v30s or creambacks?

thanks

(also for the record i play sort of alt-rocky shoegazey stuff but with doom metal and midwest emo elements idk if this matters.)

best gear for me

before i say anything, i dont care about price or anything i just want a general consensus. i want to know peoples opinions on what's best for me both with actual basses, and amps n stuff

what i want out of my bass is to be really really thick sound, and have a roaring/grinding quality to it, and also cut through the mix a lot because the guitar sound i use is very dark and bassy. i plan to use it running into a jhs crimson (mids boosted green russian big muff) or an overdrive of some sort, or clean (but rarely).

also i play with a pick

bass sounds i like (these are what comes to mind. the 1st and 2nd are quite similar to what im going for):

od with lots of low end

i really like the eqd plumes mode 1 sound, and the marshall bb2 sound, but neither of them have enough bass for me. i play guitar and like a lot of bass in my sound, and i want an overdrive pedal that retains the low end of my clean tone, or boosts bass slightly.

i use a marshall bb2 before my fuzz pedal (a jhs crimson) but it cuts a bit of low end which i don't like. ive looked into the eqd blumes but it has too much high end for me and sounds very different to the plumes

i want something thats soft clipping ideally as a hard clipping overdrive is not really my thing if im using it on its own or before a fuzz/distortion/hard clipping od pedal.

for the record i like rolled off prescence to where i still have bite but my top end is more airy sounding than harsh, enough treble to have clarity but a slightly darker sound, lots of mids (around 6-8.5 depending on the amp) and LOTS of bass (around 7-10 depending on the amp). basically just a dark and thick sounding guitar tone

[TOMT] dark fantasy song on tiktok with guy rapping over classical kind of castle-y song

i might be misremembering this bit but it basically was on like a harpsichord or organ and it alternated between these two really suspenseful chords kinda and then went really complicated with a guy rapping over it or something

it was used over a few dark fantasy tiktoks when that was really popular couple a years ago
