i really want to scream like this (examples below) but im really scared of damaging my voice. ive literally never screamed before. my voice is very soft and quiet naturally and thats how i normally sing

what tunings do polvo use on can i ride, vibracobra, the drill and sure shot? i cant find anything online and the thing on rate your music is inaccurate

im pretty sure the drill uses the same tuning as stinger five wigs

kind of like a flanger or phaser. like a wah where you turn a knob for the speed and then it constantly sweeps the mids (or whatever a wah does) to that rate

i love loveless so much but my main problem with it (as well as most mbv stuff) is how thin and harsh it sounds. i usually turn leave the treble at noon or turn it up a little on my record player's amp, and turn the bass almost all the way up. it still sounds really thin, especially on 'what you want', which is my favourite

so what pressing has the most thick, dark, bassy sound?

for the record, i already sound a bit like clay. like my voice is kind of breathy and quiet when i sing, and i have a similar range.

im more curious about how i should compress vocals, how close I should sing to the mic, how i should eq it, should i add like a little bit or distortion?, etc etc.

and im aware that all of this just came from recording onto 4 track tape machines. i mean how could i replicate it in a modern setting on like a daw

does anyone know how to get a tone like starflyer 59 on silver. or like exactly what he used?

from what i know it was some sort of gibson les paul style guitar, maybe a fender jazzmaster. then a dod chorus pedal, and some sort of vox drive pedal, and like a tremolo pedal or something. also a lot of stuff from a roland jc amp (i think a jc 120)

i think theres some photos in the silver cd booklet but nothing is really that clear

i dont really have that much experience with bass. i know how to play it and im pretty good, and i know the sort of sound i want i just haven't really gotten round to actually making sound the way i want it to. ive been playing on borrowed equipment until very recently.

basically i just want my bass to feel and sound good

i ideally want a very mids focused tone, with a lot of bass too, and not much treble. idk how much strings affect tone on bass, like if they change it more or less than on guitar.

i play clean mixed with heavily distorted parts (using a bass big muff). i normally play in drop c# but sometimes go down to drop B or up to E standard (and tunings between those).

one thing i dont like is how metallic my clean tone is. i got my strings changed pretty recently but even after playing a lot the metallic quality has died down a bit, but not enough. should i get flats?

also i play a short scale for the record

so yeah basically im just kind of what rounds or flats? what gauge? etc etc
