what happened to the humans/star people who stayed on the earth after the star people were ruled by the qu in different planets? the book does not say anything about it.

something that never made sense in the book
how come a cube that can not move at all evolve but the mantelopes could not?
the mantelopes were intelligent who could move and knew their history, why didnt they do selective breeding and how did the tool breeders do all that they did with the same handicaps the mantelopes had
