My younger cousin is 13 and im 21.

Recently she's been venting to me about her parents among other topics. Ive been starting to notice that she has been talking/ asking about more political topics.

Now I dont answer everything as even though her relationship with her parents is strained she's still a minor and I feel like I dont have the authority to talk about certain topics.

I encourage her to do her own research. I'm always honest and I tell her if I disagree and will have a chat about it.

I always tell her we can talk about (almost) anything and I'll still love her no matter what.

My worry is, is this age appropriate?

I was quite sheltered as my grandparents wanted me to stay innocent for as long as possible. so I didn't really get into politics until 17-18 and still only in like the last couple years truly took a interest in it.

I know Im a out lier but I really just want the best for her.

I've asked this sub about a day ago with my resume and I just like to thank this sub!

Alot of people told me to research different companies.

Now I literally just did a quick reddit search. I thought that would be the quickest way to get reliable insight on different companies and I could filter them out through my own research and preferences. And.... all I saw was a sea of people saying don't go to ABC.

I saw:

Filthy

Cash grab

Multiply comments how they're not nice to Autistic people

Mean girl

So now I know what to avoid.... but are there any good recommendations perhaps?

I got so.. caught off guard for a like of a better term how there is such a unified consensus on how terrible that company is, especially because there are multiple Action Behavior Centers in my area there is a high chance I would have ended up there.

Right off the back I will actually be doing an independent study as not to lie. And this is for a Registered Behavior Technician role.

I was kindly gifted a road map for my career progress. And as Im making my resume I got stuck here:

MISTAKE 2: Generic resume with no ABA keywords

Hiring managers scan for DTT, NET, data collection, behavior plans. A resume without these terms gets filtered before a human reads it.

Im applying to entry roles as I have no experience in ABA ( I do in child care ) and want to get the company to pay for Registered Behavior Technician Certification.

I can't put the relevant ABA skills on my resume... So I thought maybe an Independent Study section? So it would pass the filter, I wouldnt be lying, and it can show initiative?

Or maybe im over thinking...

Any Advice helps.

Im currently remaking my RBT Resume.

I've never worked in a RBT role before so I dont know what to except.

Without getting into to much detail, on my resume is

> Current Psych student

> My volunteer work at a church nursery

> Im literally right now about to pay for a CPR cert. and put that on there as in progress

I ofc have my skills being communication • Team work •Empathy • Emotional Intelligence • Writing • Child Care, etc.

I dont have another relevant experience. Its super short...

Another question is what question are they going to be asking?...

I feel like im severely under qualified but through my research it seems like just getting the CPR cert will help and my employer would pay for the rest. Which is what im banking on cause Im no very liquid right now...

Any advice would be very appreciated!

If curious I could share my resume when im done.

EDIT: in case relevant I want to focus on children not adults at the moment. Its just what I have experience in.

I've been looking at the Notion plans lately and realized the only thing I truly want are to AI features. Specially the AI notes. But they're all the way in the Business package... ( Do they think only business' want to take easy notes? That sounds great for students.. Im a student )

It would be reasonable and in my budget to pay for the Plus plan... But 20$ just to use AI seems like not the smartest finical move for me..

Do you guys have alternatives? Payed or Free ( prefer free though ) for the notes? Or any AI feature in notion?

Thinking about my car being a future home soon. Im trying to work things out at home but its a solid option I have.

The thing that really gets me though is sleeping at night.

Im going to be picking very public places to sleep like Walmart or Buc-ee's but just the thought of being alone, with all the windows blocked ( can't see the outside ), especially as a young woman im highly concerned.

Now that im thinking about it I could use my dash cams as security cameras. I have a hybrid and I think I read somewhere you can keep it running all night for the AC.

I would like to hear what kind of safety do y'all practice-- especially the ladies.

My uncle and cousin said they take me out to do whatever I want. And I mean whatever, they're fine with anything.

Im trying this approach where every other day he watches his ABC's ( mostly sesame street ) and I the end of the day we go over ABC cards ( we also spend at least 1hr outside. I dont know if this is to ambitious but Im trying to get him to spell his name before he goes to school next year. )Then other days he picks a cartoon to watch.

Hes recently been been picking Pinkfong and Hogi..

Sometimes I veto it because even though its supposed to be fun time but they're literal doing nothing.

Like the main thing they go through his colors but most of the episodes are nonsensical.

Then he likes watching where they just repeat the same jingle over and over again.

Maybe Im getting a little annoyed because I watch some of the show with him and am consistently listening to his tv since we are in the same room.

But I would rather him watch Garfield and Friends.

Defiantly not a pre school show but when he was struggling to learn to talk I felt like he was learning vocabulary from it way better than the pre school shows he was watching.

I dont want to take something away he likes but I want to protect him against pure brain riot.

Hes not going to be a iPad kid on my watch.

Notes on the Build:

The CPU, mother board, and ram pricing is weird. And ( I think) without context its weird I went with AM5 instead of AM4.

CPU, mother board, and ram are in a bundle from micro center. The price of the bundle is on the CPU being 350$. And the price on the ram is for 1 stick of ram as the bundle only gives you one. So, the reason why the ram price is 175$ ( instead of the going rate of 209$) is because that was the most common price on Ebay.

The reason why I got AM5 is because I wanted wifi and at least a 16GB of ram. The AM4 bundles had wifi but only 16GB total. Or wouldn't have the motherboard wouldn't have wifi.

The GPU is 420$ at micro center which I put there because.... reddit said it was good...

And the SSD is just a place holder for any used 1tb NVME SSD deal on ebay.

I did have to raise the budget so ima have to save longer but I feel it will be worth it..

The budget was less than 1000$ and the total was ~1300

Im trying to build a PC I already have a CPU. The Ryzen 5 5600x. But I can sell that and this one would be better right?

I heard that micro center was great for deals so I dont think its a scam..

and was actually had been recommended and was going to get the ASRock Challenger 9060 XT for a GPU cause it was a great deal...

But with this deal and the GPU deal?

That leaves me about 230$ for everything else...
