Got some goodies from Polychrome Fibers in Denali!
I was honestly surprised they had spinning fiber, and I'm delighted with my haul! I spun up a couple samples on the train home :)

It's just a bit of a bunch of stuff, but they will be fun to use in my crazy quilted shawl embroidery, so I'm excited.
I've been wanting one for years, and I'm over the moon with this find for $15! There was no question, it absolutely had to come home with me.
The ties on my skirt decided to be difficult unexpectedly, but ripping them open sure worked with the music! I got the song "shake it" from a list of one hit wonders.
I don't think I've ever noticed fasciation before, so this was neat to spot! The stem is flat and extra thick.
It started with the concept of a "bed jacket" to keep me super cozy while sitting in bed crafting in winter. After two years of piecing, it's finally in a wearable form!
I've been hand sewing this shawl from scrap fabric for two years. I wanted something cozy for sitting in bed crafting in winter, but it's also quite ideal for taking the dogs out on a chilly morning. I will probably add to it with patches, embroidery, and other additions for a long time, but for now I'm happy to say it's finally out of the project bin and in a wearable form!
Please excuse the cat fur! This hand sewing project has been a breath of fresh air. I'm not terribly worried about perfection in any regard here, just combining various scraps from different projects as I go. I feel like this will always be growing and evolving, especially as I add patches, embroidery, stamps, and other bits. It feels good to have someplace for my scrap materials to go!
I'm about a year into this scrappy project. It's not elegant, but it is fun! I finally have enough done that I'm starting to do the actual quilting part. I don't know if it will ever be fully finished, but I'm aiming to have it at "wearable" by this fall. Then I can just tinker forever! :)
I've been thinking about getting some sections of hair dyed for a fun peekaboo splash of color, but if I'm being honest, I don't think I would maintain it super well right now. I decided to play with jewelry supplies I had around the house and these wig clips. Each strand is made of beading wire, and finished with crimp beads. A couple of the ends need adjusted, I decided to finish without my pliers, so I clumsily squished the crimp beads with a key. 😅 But they're done, and I kinda love it! Green is up next!
Edit: now that I've had a day to wear them, I can report that they didn't drag or pull, they're light and secure enough that I hardly noticed them. They also didn't tangle in my hair. I'm posting a green one in the comments!
This is Oliver and his yarn. I was just curious if I could even spin it, and what it would be like. It's kind of a pain, but boy oh boy it's satisfying. I want to make a small something or another with it, and I'm tempted to do it for all of our furry pets.
I'm spinning it as a 3 ply on my itty bitty Turkish spindle and working it up as a flowery lacy crochet shawl. It's fuzzy and so insanely soft! This is the amount of yarn I was able to spin in two days, and I'm so glad I ended up going back for more fiber
Freehanded this drawstring bag from scraps of upholstery fabric. Nothing super special, but it feels vaguely magical and it's nice to finish something useful.
This is all bits and pieces from my aquariums. I can't remember what this vining plant is, but it's sprouting the tiniest little flowers I've ever seen! She's due for a trim here soon.
It's been running for about a week now. Everyone is totally enamored with it. I think with the sump it's about 20 oz of water? It's from PNW Custom.now I need to get mine set up!
Orange tropical floral print, and glow in the dark spooky girl bralette. It's good. Spooky girl summer fit, perfect for doing queer coded patriotic tattoos.
The Gollum crochet doll started it all. Now my trinket shelf includes a hand made vhs diorama, and two of the vinyl figures made from my favorite movie, the 1977 animated Hobbit. I'm utterly spoiled!
Man, it's nice to sit down and finish something in a couple hours! No pattern, this is a design I've worked out for myself and done a couple times for adult scale. It's so fun to see it in mini scale! It's worked in short rows with back loop single crochet rib stitch, switching hook size for sense rib finish at the bottom.
Dense rib is 3.25mm hook, top portion 4.5mm. I held Knitting For Olive silk with Sandnes Garn Line (cotton, viscose, linen)
I'm working on some matching booties, but I was too excited to share!
I'm a tattooist and had a little extra drawing time this morning. I've had this idea to add onto my witchy sleeve for a while, incorporating all four elements into a tower. My coworker offered to put it on me, and we got the line work done today! I love how it's coming along! Sorry it's not the best picture 😅
I'd love to see your elemental inspired tattoos as well! :)
P.s. hope everyone is having a lovely solstice season! ☀️
It's not soft, but I had to. I love odd fibers! I was initially hoping to get some roving, but they ended up just doing spun yarn.
