My Hotel Room in Tokyo | Beautiful or Intimidating..?

This hotel in Tokyo features artistic rooms where Japanese local artists come to paint directly on the walls. Each artist will paint only on one room, making each rooms unique.

Would you stay in these types of artist rooms or it's a bit too much for you.? FYI, this was the Otafuku room in reference of a popular figure in Japanese folklore representing good fortune and joy.

If you want to check more rooms, I booked the hotel here.

Highlights of my Last Trip to Minami Aso near Kumamoto, Kyushu

I had a wonderful trip to the beautiful area of Minami Aso in Kyushu. It's a close to the volcanic region of Aso and it's so underrated! The best would be to rent a car to explore it. You can go to Kumamoto first for example and start your road trip from there.

I give you few tips and cool places to visit in my Aso Travel Guide.

Coconut Hill in Mirissa, Sri Lanka

The view from Coconut Hill was honestly even better than I expected. Standing there with the cliffs, palm trees, and the endless blue ocean right in front of me felt unreal, especially with the waves crashing below.

One of my favorite sunset spots I visited in Sri Lanka.

Check out my Mirissa travel guide for more travel tips: Things to Do in Mirissa.

The Gorgeous Lotus Lake in Kaohsiung, Taiwan

I took this picture near the massive Xuanwu Emperor Statue at Lotus Lake in Kaohsiung, and honestly the scale of it surprised me in real life. Standing right below it makes you feel tiny. I really liked how the dark clouds and dramatic sky behind the statue gave the whole place a mysterious atmosphere.

The details on the statue itself are also pretty impressive when you get closer, especially the sword and the dragon elements around it. Definitely one of the most striking places I visited in Kaohsiung.

Foxes Everywhere at Sasuke Inari Shrine 🦊⛩️

I randomly found this shrine while walking around Kamakura and honestly wasn’t expecting it to look like this. Fox statues everywhere. Some tiny, some a bit creepy, all hidden between the red torii gates and the trees.

Sasuke Inari Shrine is dedicated to Inari, and in Japanese folklore the foxes are considered the messengers of the gods. People used to believe they could protect the shrine, bring good fortune, and even carry prayers to the spirit world.

The atmosphere here felt very different from the bigger touristy shrines in Japan. Super quiet, a little mysterious, and you constantly feel like there’s another fox statue watching you from somewhere 😅

Probably one of my favorite hidden spots in Kamakura.

I spent 1 month volunteering in Tigman village and it's one of my best experience as a solo traveler in Asia. What made it unforgettable is how the people were so kind and simple. I wish I can go back there one day!
