Never been there but thinking of living there from NYS next year for retirement. Mostly interested due to the inexpensive cost of living, although I don’t have to be in a dirt cheap place. Worried about being in a red state, but also want a great small city/place. I like that it’s interesting and walkable and could probably afford to buy a place outright, saving on housing costs. I’m worried that it would not be enough for me after a short period of time. Any comments?

Lately when I ask to meet up with her to go do something that I find interesting or fun, the answer is in some way no. She only wants to do the things that she wants….things that are her idea. Or she’ll say yes to something then go ahead and change it. For example, I wanted to go explore a certain area of the city that I haven’t been to, she’ll say yes but then change it to someplace else. Or change it to meet up with a third oerson someplace else. Usually though, she’ll just say no to my idea. Tonight I got a text that she wants to go to a beach that is near me. So I asked her if she wants me to meet her. If she didn’t want to meet me she just would not have mentioned that she is thinking of coming out this way. So when I texted back about meeting her then she said that oh, she’ll call me if she actually goes because her “energy is low.” So I asked her that if she doesn’t come out here does she want to go to Chinatown? The answer of course was no because she gained five pounds and doesn’t want to eat Chinese food in Chinatown. So what does that mean??? She’s not going to eat tomorrow. She has to eat whether she’s in Chinatown or at the beach or at home!!! What am I supposed to make of this friendship??? She won’t meet me unless it’s something she wants to do, and even then it’s a maybe. And no to things I want to do.
