Best Remakes?

Personally I love Mario advance 4. All the new content they added including voices for Mario and Luigi really elevates it for me.

Um why weren’t these mentioned in the direct?

Did I miss something from the direct saying these were gonna be added? Because I don’t recall it.

Is it really so hard to believe?

I feel like a lot of people fail to accept the fact that Toriyama was human and humans can forget stuff. Especially when you don’t give the old story as much attention as it needs to stay relevant, it’s no wonder he might forget and ultimately that’s fine. He wasn’t perfect, doesn’t mean he didn’t make something fun.

The announcer’s voice actor was going all out for this scene

I don’t feel people have acknowledged just how hyped and over the top the announcer was in this scene. He genuinely got me hyped for the last 2000 yards. Definitely helped make this feel more like an actual race than in the manga.

How I would write Ridley for a Metroid comic.

Context: I wrote this originally as a chapter for a book/pitch of a Metroid comic series. Some of the wording is connected to images that I can’t find anymore, or referencing a previous chapter. So if the wording seems a bit off thats likely why. By the way the art displayed along with this post was made by Wata_Ridley. With that enjoy!

Ridley's personality not being present in the games is arguably the biggest mistake Nintendo has ever made with this franchise. Even more than Other M. Because this insult to creatures everywhere is pure evil to his core.

If you've read the Metroid Manga released around the time of Zero Mission in Japan, you'll know exactly what I plan to do with Ridley, and I think most agree that's for the best. An absolute show stealer.

Like I mentioned before the only survivors of the K2L massacre were Samus and Ridley. But while Samus was simply adopted by the Chozo, Ridley made it out through a much more horrific way. By eating the flesh of the dead colonists.

But it gets even worse when he uses this fact to mentally torture Samus. The level of evil in his writing is staggering.

The best part about Ridley's character in the manga is the simple fact that he has no real motive. He has no grand vision, no true goal, no real purpose. All he wants is to spread death, misery and pain just because he likes it.

He takes great pleasure in killing people, especially those weaker than him, and views all life not part of the space pirates as inferior. Because he also rocks the mindset of nature sides with the strong.

But as I said, there's nothing more to it than that. He simply loves to be a symbol of death, fear, and misery. The space pirates allow him to do that continually and successfully.

Well for a time. Before all the ass beatings.

Because of course once Samus overcomes her fear of him, Ridley becomes little more than constant cannon fodder for the huntress. Losing to her a whopping 7 times not counting clones, or machine replicas.

So now the question is what to do with him afterward? Because if he's no longer a threat to Samus then what good does he serve?

Well on top of still being a major threat to other members of the cast, I think his defeats at the hands of Samus could serve to fuel his never ending hatred for her even further.

Ridley hates how his once scared and defenseless prey who he mentally tortured has now effectively made him into a mere pushover. One that he stands no chance against anymore.

He can't replicate what he used to feel before zero mission because Samus is now living rent free in the back of his head. Serving as a constant reminder that he can be beaten and he's no longer at the top of his made up food chain. It's makes Ridley feel insecure and uncomfortable.

So whenever he fights Samus again and again he becomes more and more pathetic and desperate to get one over on her to prove he's still the monster under her bed.

Until he finally dies in super Metroid, old, weakened, and even afraid of the battle hardened warrior who has been handing him loss after loss for years.

For the record the clone of him you fight in fusion and other m is not the original so he won't harbor the same insecurity for Samus. Hell he may not even have the same kind of pleasure Ridley gets from killing people.

As for the design I believe the picture above the title and the one I'm about to post are the best designs he could have for this comic.

Menacing and similar to his super Metroid design. Though if you wanted, you could also make him black like in zero mission. Perhaps he's black in his prime but as he ages he turns purple.

As for the meta and omega designs I believe they should be kept relatively similar to their game appearance out side of Ridley's body and color which would need to stay the same. to keep consistency. As it's the same exact monster coming back over and over.

What stand would you want for everyday life?

Gonna be honest, i think crazy diamond is probably one of the most OP for every day life. Something breaks, it can be repaired as long as it ain’t you.

Shoot me I think Josuke is Johnathan’s best successor

Sure Josuke doesn’t take shit from people who insult his hair, and at times his intentions can be a bit malicious but at the end of the day Josuke was a good hearted individual who often did the right thing when push came to shove. But that’s not why I think he’s Johnathan’s best successor. All the jojos from the original line have that same willingness to do what’s right, but where Josuke stands apart from the rest outside of Johnathan is his friends and foes. Often Josuke ends up befriending or at the very least taming his foes to where they end up part of the community again and not dead or permanently disabled. That’s not something every jojo can claim they’ve done. I’m not trying to devalue the other jojos or even say they’re bad. Hell no. They’ve all proven that they are good hearted people who understand when to help instead of harm. My point is that most of them don’t change people the way Johnathan could. Josuke id argue is the one exception. Doing the right thing is already really good but going a step farther to actually help others do the right thing is how you become legendary.

Virgin Single Joycon Koizumi vs giga chad double pro controller Sakurai?

Which do you pick the virgin single joycon koizumi who can’t win a game of thumb wrestling or the giga chad double pro controller Sakurai who can win a smash game against himself?

What should they do for Mario Maker 3?

So I’ve been debating this for a minute and I need more opinions. For super Mario maker 3, should they stick to 2d and just add more like Mario wonder and Mario bros 2? Or should they just make the jump to 3d level maker?

What’s with Pigma’s eyes

With the announcement of the new Star Fox and getting a good look at Pigma’s design, I think now’s an appropriate time to ask. What was the creative motive behind Pigma’s eyes in the Star Fox 64? It’s not like he always had it, Star Fox 2 proves so. So was there ever an explanation?

Ellen McLain as Mother Brain?

I can’t help but hear glados whenever Motherbrain speaks in the manga. An insecure machine.

Coincidentally enough Alèsia Glidewell, Chells model is the voice of Samus in smash bros. She’s who I typically hear when I think of how Samus sounds. Especially when she’s being serious.

What’s your idea for a treasure tracker sequel

I mean despite not being a giant hit on his own, Captain Toad has been popping up in Mario games since 3d world. I feel like he needs a new game with new additions.

Who do you think Dio hates more?

Remember that respect and hate can coexist. Dio may respect them both but it does not detract from his hatred.

Did the Sorrow kill Vulgin?

So I’ve been replaying through MGS3 and I realized that the sorrow has the power to control the weather. Or at least cause storms, and this is further backed up by whenever a storm starts and the boss is around she calls out to the sorrow. Considering how the sorrow punishes the player for killing, is it a stretch to say he did the same to Volgin? Volgin was beyond evil and actively enjoyed committing horrific acts, and if his body count is really 100,000 then that makes what the sorrow can do to the player seem like a drop vs the ocean. So the sorrow would have a lot to work with.

Getting to the point, if the sorrow can manipulate the weather and punish those who have committed awful acts, who’s to say he wouldn’t turn on Volgin? Like father like son right? Except the father has the benefit of judgmental lightning.

If I’m wrong about this please someway say so respectfully and explain.

So after reviewing the trailer and listening to the voices I think Fox, Falco, Slippy, and James are all voiced solidly if not well.

Peppy, Pigma, and Pepper I think could be better for different reasons.

Peppy’s voice sounds a tad too high pitch for an older character.

Pigma’s voice is only strange to me because I absolutely loved David White’s performance and style every time he played the character. So hearing this new voice doesn’t sound necessarily wrong but just different from what I expect to hear from Pigma. This one’s probably just gonna take some getting used to.

Pepper I feel is lacking a tad bit of tiredness in his tone similar to peppy but again that may just take some getting used to.

But other than that, as long as Leon doesn’t lose the evil British accent and tone I think I’m fine with the voice cast.

I will absolutely miss the old VAs but I get this may be a new era for star fox. So I’m willing to give the new guys a shot.
