Thinking of using minidv for my first feature film

I guess I’m more talking about how I want to shoot on minidv for artistic reasons. The story is about a character being stranded In the city of the dead after being murdered. It’s a film about trying to find hope in a place that’s devoid of love and warmth. The reason I want to shoot on minidv, is because I love the look of the cameras and I feel it’s aesthetically appropriate for the film. The city of the dead looks a lot like a big city at night. I feel it’s mostly my fear of using minidv, as it could condemn the film to sheer obscurity. I feel though it needs to look that way visually. I’m gonna spend the next two years writing and perfecting the screenplay.

Is Mandy.com good for work experience? Asking as someone who just wants to fill out their resume.

I’m solely asking as someone who just needs work experience. I don’t care about pay right now, I only care about gaining experience right now. I know Mandy.com has a price but I’m willing to pay it. Just any pointers would be good thank you. I have tried facebook groups so I’ll wait to see what happens with that. I’m mostly looking for PA work. I can’t drive, but I’m very reliable and can commute to wherever.

I think the fandom has totally killed my love of this series

Like I’m serious, I have seen some of the most whiny, angry, ridiculous stuff in this server. and this ranges from a character being a certain gender, a sexuality not being written right. Like Jesus fucking Christ. The thing is, the show is riddled with fandom that it’s almost impossible to enjoy it without encountering these fuckers. It’s like having a rocket missile aimed right at your house, it’s impossible. Like I don’t I’m ever gonna rewatch this show as I think the fandom has killed any interest I have with it. I just feel depressed and exhausted. Was the finale perfect? No but it wasn’t that bad! Like judging by half of some of the crap I have witnessed with bad movies and other shows this was pretty good! Also I made me trans :3

I really need some pointers and help on what to do after uni.

So you see I’m about to start my last year of uni. I’m terrified. I have no idea who to do after it. My big goal is directing and screenwriting but of course I can’t just do that. I’m gonna need to get a job. Like I feel I’m so under qualified for the roles that go into film sets. I do plan on the last year to get better at cinematography and camera work. I just need to know like where do I look for work when I leave uni? Like any work PA etc. Also who do I look for sand ask for jobs. It’s more the where, the how, I’m trying to figure out. I just need a pointer on where the hell im going after uni.

Not sure what to do after uni, film production course. Advice needed

So you see I’m about to begin my last year of my university’s film production course. I’m a little nervous as I’m about to start the last year and I feel i haven’t really honed anything technical wise, like camera, sound etc. but I feel the only thing I’ve personally truly improved on is screenwriting. I don’t study it at uni, but I just love personally doing it. I just love writing so much. I love screenwriting. I still plan to get better at camera skills in the last year. I just need advice on what to do, after uni if the skill I’m best at is screenwriting.

I really need help on figuring myself out

I find the reason I struggle with discerning my own transness and my self doubt comes from the that I can’t answer questions like “if you had a button to turn you into the opposite gender, would you press it?” Like I can’t answer cause that’s not how I think. Like I don’t have my current body, and I could stay like this, but i feel I wanna transition mainly because I hate being related to my dad other cis guys. Like I just hate it.
It’s also just stressing me out because if I transitioned it would definitely be t4t, cause Im just really stressed because I only feel normal and safe solely around trans woman and don’t have to hide myself behind a series of stupid useless shitty masks. And I don’t want people to see me as a chaser, cause I’m not.

Like I really need advice

Am I screwed if I can’t drive? (Asking as a person who wants to start with Production Assistant and Runner.)

Am I screwed if I can’t drive? I mean like I do not have the funds to start lessons. I mean I want to start on set as a production assistant or runner. I just need advice, on what should my response be when applying to jobs and they ask me about that.

Like is it a total deal breaker or not?

How do you approach planning a second draft?

Just wondering as I am about to read through my entire first draft and note down everything. I mean do you write detailed character sheets? I’m just trying to figure the best method to planning it. Should I rewrite my character to be more comprehensive? Or re outline? Just need any advice or tips or ticks.

Pain back of lower pelvis and pain in hip, for nearly two weeks

Like it’s been like this. Like nearly two weeks I went to bed and woke up with a pain in my hip and back of pelvis. It only really hurts when I walk for too long. Especially when I press the afflicted area it really hurts. ibuprofen helps a bit. And rest definitely makes it stop hurting. I just need others opinions so I can stop feeling paranoid.

How do you tackle theme and multiple characters, let’s say 4 characters.

I mean I approached this story from
A desire to create an allegory for my experience as a neurodivergent person, I wanted to make something that represented my and others experiences of perceiving the world in a certain way. The main character is a mute clown who lives at a circus and finds himself taken away by a tornado. He is sent on a mission to find his way home. There are characters he meets on the way. The film was inspired by wizard of oz.

Inside my mind I see the story aesthetically as it is, like I see the way it has its quirks and inner voice. I just want to understand how to make characters who are compelling but aren’t ultimately echo chambers of each other. Like the big theme of this film is trying to find your way in a world which is chaotic and doesn’t always make it self known. So the clown fits that bill. Also a theme I imagine is trauma and there’s a character who suffers from ptsd. It’s just I have two other characters to get through. It’s just difficult to understand how to one not sacrifice what makes the story interesting to me but also I want compelling characters who aren’t gonna be echoe chambers. Like wizard of oz, the scarecrow is intellect, the tin man is love and the lion is courage all masked by their insecurities. Maybe I should use that to help craft my characters. Like using aspects of neurodivergent experience, such as anxiety.

How do you effectively write a drifter character who has no goals but to keep moving? But we learn more about him as the story progresses?

I asks this as I have gotten feedback as one of my secondary protagonists doesn’t have a clear goal or objective. Well I’m finding it difficult as the character is a drifter who’s may goal is to keep moving from place to place. Later we learn of his traumatic past and estranged loved ones which has caused him to be a state of “keep moving, don’t look back” I’m just struggling to make this work as I don’t want to explain everything immediately about the character.

I really need some help. My hair is making me super dysphoric and I need to know what to do with it.

Here’s my hair, it’s really thick and curly. People tell me to let it grow and apparently it’ll understand gravity and go down. But I think my hairs so thick it’ll just keep going up. I’m lost. I hate buzz cuts as it
Gives me dysphoria as well. Like I’m lost I don’t know what to do with my terrible hair.

Is to normal to only experience gender envy and dysphoria from trans woman and not cis women?

Hey I rly need to know. I feel a tremendous amount of impostor syndrome and self doubt. I need to kinda be reassured. I find I mostly rly get gender envy and dysphoria from trans woman, but never cis women.

can someone give me a definition of my ethnicity. It’s confusing for me to put it into words

So my father’s paternal father was Spanish, and his mother was Persian. My mother is British and has very faint Scandinavian ancestry. I’m wondering how to put my ethnicity into words. I was born in England as well.
