Post office retail location only accepting up to 5 prepaid packages?
I was out of town today, and decided to bring my packages with me (about 10) to drop off in the city I was going to rather than my local post office I usually go to. When I got there, the lady said they can't accept more than 5 packages even if they're prepaid since "they're only a retail location" and that I should go to the "main post office" 20 minutes away in the next city. I asked her to make an exception for today and she accepted all the packages, but said it was a one time thing. This seems really weird to me. I've never had this happen before, and I've been to quite a few post offices. I'd understand if someone had 50 or 100 packages but I don't think 10 is unreasonable at all. Of course scan sheets are preferrable, but I dont believe ebay, poshmark, or walmart SWW offer them when purchasing shipping labels through their platforms. Does anyone have any knowledge about this or if it's a real thing that individual post offices are allowed to do?
