Feedbacks that sometimes just make your day

I made an button to people to send some feedbacks to me through the game, i love people complaining about the game and telling things that have to be fixed, but sometimes, after some months of solo developing, with a lot of self doubt, comments like this, just gives that little push, it makes you think you are still on the right path... Thanks anonymous dude

Hello everyone, just launched my demo, and the stats are a bit weird, some people are saying that it was bots, but i have no idea

Look at that drop after 29 jul, i have no idea what happened

Demo launch was that last spike

https://preview.redd.it/zjldoebgylgh1.png?width=733&format=png&auto=webp&s=8b703465513d0024c0eb57ba481325f23f910844

Since I don't have a massive marketing budget, I've had to rely on organic traction, community building, and analyzing data. Here is everything I've done so far to get the word out:

  • Launching a Strategic Free Demo: We released a free public demo on Steam to reduce friction and get the game into players' hands. This generated massive organic interest, resulting in over 12,000 downloads and pushing us past 1,500+ wishlists.
  • Community-Driven Iteration: I set up an in-game feedback API alongside a Discord server and Reddit threads. Listening to real players was crucial. When data and feedback showed that players needed more guidance early on, I quickly pushed an update introducing a brand-new tutorial to improve our Day-1 retention.
  • Global Localization & Outreach: Knowing how huge the tycoon genre is in Asia and Eastern Europe, I prepared localized assets (Chinese and Russian).

The only weird thing about it all, was this supposed bot farm that striked my game, i guess since my game is really light, they flooded it, the graph is really forced to tell me that they were bots, i would like to know if has anyone had any experience with cases like this.

Got about 2:40 HOURS OF MEDIAN TIME PLAYED WTF (Demo launch)

https://preview.redd.it/6vd014sejdgh1.png?width=770&format=png&auto=webp&s=e66320851bf65b4606688e81b4d44d993cb14f87

(I think there is something wrong with that, there is no way people played for that long). I got a bit overwhelmed, about 780 concurrent players at peak, and now sitting at about 3-10 players, i guess it got out of the upcoming from demos, but the game stayed at top 2 on upcoming demos, it got about 5 game reviews on steam because (It is what i think it happend at least) i made a feedback button for people to report bugs, suggestions, etc.

I'm a solo dev, looking to polish the demo for my game, I'm playing it a lot, but i might have some vices while playing and might not approach a bug, could you help me with that?

Any Brazilians or with a similar situation as me (Steam cut + US Taxes)

I'm making a game and i know i might not make that much money, but as i saw, getting cut 30% from Steam and after that, a more 30%~ to US and after that a more 27% to my country if i publish the game without a company, and with a company that cut goes to 6%, the numbers might not be that accurate, but i would like to know if has anybody had that experience. I live in Brazil but i also have an Italian citizenship. I've gotten about 4 publishers getting in contact with me, I dont know if maybe with them i can avoid some of the taxes.

I've made two new screens for my game, would love to get some suggestions in maybe adding too much info (Since i'm a backend developer I'm not that good with UI/UX)

A little showcase of the worker AI I implemented in my game! It can help you with planting, plowing, irrigating and harvest, it does not calculate your taxes (Still)

[WEBSITE] | [STEAM] | [ITCH.IO]

Its a cozy farming game, its intended to introduce people to a little bit of how farming works, i do not want to make it more realistic, because people that want that are in Farming Simulator, so I'm making a cozy isometric farming sim, i will add more things, like fishing, breeding animals, so when you automate everything in your farm, you can do other things that you can also spend your money on. Please give it a try and share your suggestions!

Here are my results after 1 month on Itch.io!

I've gotten so many good interactions, i've grown a little community on the game discord (6 people, but still so helpful to have people playing the game and giving feedback!), the first post that i've made here got so many upvotes, it motivated me a lot to keep going, this platform is incredible. (I've added browser compatibility only one week ago, thats why it seems to have gotten more downloads, and is not in a playable state, since I'm doing in java, the compatibility is not great because of Threads and stuff, I'm just saying nerdy stuff, dont mind me)

I've got an email from a publisher, I was not expecting that, and they might just be spamming i dont know, but it does not looked like a spam for me, I'm probably just naive. But anyways, these are the results in a week of creating the page on Steam, I've remade the Header Capsule, because of that 1.1%, and I've made a website with a press kit to send some e-mails in other languages, because i intend in making my game in other languages, I've sent them 2 days ago, no responses yet (I was not expecting any actually since it was so little time), but yea, these are my results now, I also got 56 wishlists and I'm trying every platform, TikTok, Instagram, Youtube, X and Reddit. I started marketing 1 month ago, got around 60k views in total (If you count reddit posts views), other than reddit i got around 20k views in total, and some good interactions and insights, also Itch.io has been helping a lot, since I can see that people are downloading the game, and some even playing in the browser. I try to not tell friends about updates because I want to see a real number, they would probably spam watch all the time xD.

I just got the steam page approved, been working everyday after work on this project, i have now just added NPCs with a hire system, you can also buy land, and apply the workers you have hired to those lands, the workers also have skills, like plowing, planting, irrigating, harvesting, and some of them also come with vehicles, so you do not have to land them yours, the only problem is that they only know how to work with the vehicles that they own, if they have a low level harvester, you cannot lend them a better one, there will be only 1 vehicle for each type that will be possible to lend them. Thats it about the game for now, I'm working to make it as much polished as possible, in hope that some of you guys enjoy it!
