Given that our colleague just found a stack of crystals, I'm looking for one that might fit this watch.
The measurements are:
29.5mm (inner/upper)
33.5mm (outer/under)
2mm height.
What do you guys suggest?
It was running.
Timegrapher showed a snowflake.
So I thought: Wonderful specimen to start working.
Removed Hairspring and Pallet Fork.
It was actually easy, because each one was held in place by it's own bridge.
Assembled it back. wouldn't run.
Removed again... Assembled it back... No can do.
After some time after removing/reinstalling the Hairspring, It got bent.
RIP sweet prince.
I'm very frustrated right now, cause it was working after all.
This is the second hairspring I destroy...
I need to buy some kind of oil to try to lubricate the watches I'm working with.
AFAIK, when assembling a watch there are 5 different types of oils for every single specific kind of joint.
That's not what I'm looking for.
I'm looking for something generic that's better than olive or sunflower cooking oil 😄

Hi guys, my Zanussi dishwasher is flooded. i.e. it keeps beeping whenever I simply turn it on.
It has been in this state since Wednesday, and it won't unflood.
It is an integrated model, so I'm refraining from moving it and opening it, which I never did before.
Last hack I did was using vinegar. But I'm not sure it worked.
Anything else that I can do before removing it from the cabinet?
It is also sort of old : 7 years. I believe that should be sort of 50yo in Appliance years...
Perhaps I should replace it?
Any thoughts?

I had this yellow Irony that was broken (please Identify if possible), so I found this working black donor (please also identify, Fig 3), and made this restoration ! (Fig 4 on)
The watch is running perfectly, including chronograph.
The black one has the original box and manuals, but not the receipt, which doesn't matter much since they are both from 1999/2000.
I don't know if I keep it or sell it on eBay.
Is it Original? Both swatches were originals.
Are the papers included? Manual and Warranty yes, but no receipt.
I can certainly keep it, but the truth is that I'm not going to use it. And I already have some that have fallen out of rotation.
What should I do? And if I sell it what should I advertise?

The Green Reef GMT with Milanese Bracelet completely changed my opinion over the Reefs.
Finally got a chance to see the Field watches in Titanium. they are very light and rugged.
And last, the Aria !! Ohh the Aria !!! I tried it on. It's so light. It reminds me of a Quartz Seiko that I have...
Finally I bought a Leather Band for my Essence 39. It's the same of the Black Pearl.

I actually drove the 220 km each way just to get in touch with Formex because I'm a brand enthusiast. I am NOT affiliated with them, just a fan.
My only regret was only not having a better camera with a tripod in order to document every single watch that was exposed.
The Black Pearl, The space ghost, the blue Leggera, and finally, the Aria.
The Aria is a thing on it's own.
I tried it on my wrist. Completely fell in love with it. Its Rugged, but light and thin as a feather. Reminds me of Seiko quartz that I have that is completely weightless.

This is an American Microbrand.
The CEO was there and I had the chance to talk a little bit with him. He is trying to establish a partnership in Germany.
Right now, since there is a problem exporting/importing from the USA, the brand is covering taxes and S&H costs if there are any problems with their watches.
The heart is either Seiko or Miyota. He suggests Seiko for ruggedness and Miyota for accuracy.
Nodus also recalibrates every Seiko movement before shipping.
The Nomad (last picture) caught my eye. It is a very thin rubber strap, in a NATOish configuration (not quite a NATO strap). Very comfortable to use and the price is around USD $600.
I hope that they bring nice stuff to show.
So, Last month, I bought the watch at a flea market for 5 Euros.
It came without a crown. The old stem was rusty and the original crown just fell off.
So I set out to find a new stem + crown.
It was not that easy. And I really want to THANK every one that helped me procuring those items.
Ended up ordering from CousinsUK:
Stem + Crown = 12€ + 13€ Shipping and Handling.
It took roughly 20 days to cross the English Channel due to bureaucracy and returned to sender and back.
Meanwhile, I watched videos and prepared myself psychologically for trimming the stem, because I would have only 1 shot. I also found this pincer on a flea market for 1€ and sharpened it specially for making this cut ! 😄
Since I was improvising, I used this 0.9 Pentel mechanical pencil for holding the stem while cutting and screwing the crown. It worked very well !
Cape Cod Polishing Cloths and Polywatch gave the final touch.
As you may all see, I'm VERY HAPPY with the result, although, I'm sort of surprised by the total price:
Watch ................... 5€
Battery ................. 5€
Stem+Crown ...... 25€
Strap ................... 25€

The name may be wrong, could be "The return of the phantom" or the "the ghost returns", or something like it.
I cannot find it in IMDB, or pictures of It.
It has nothing to do with The Phantom comic character.
It is a B&W comedy from around 1930, with sound, i.e. not a silent movie.
The synopsis is about, people that moved to this apparently haunted house, and a young lady is murdered, i.e. she becomes the phantom that returns.
She doesn't know why she was murdered in the first place and she tries to find out who did it, and why...
One of the most memorable scenes for me is completely out of context. The family's driver opens a secret door somewhere and end up in a sewer, where a SEAL lives.
Yep, no crocodile, no monster, no roaches, no rats, but a seal....
I watched it only once. I would like to have more info about it: Release date, director, actors, etc.
So I could at least try to watch it again, somehow... 😄
I have been searching for a long time for someone who could make me a Rally Strap for my Formex Essence 39.
I have this rubber black strap that I'm attaching the measurements.
It should fit the clasp.
Already talked with two guys that stopped responding after I sent the requirements... 😢
