Trying trichromes with my iphone and my great granddad's old Kodak filters

I have Wratten filters A, B, and C5. The first one is the raw image that I mixed up in GIMP, and the second is color graded to match roughly what my eye sees. I took three photos with the filters and lined them up as best I could, and then converted those to monochrome and recolored them as their respective channels.

What adapter do I need to interface with this drive

I pulled this drive from a dead media storage device I got from a friend. it has some old videos from Africa on it (before the device died) and I want to get them off so I can repurpose the drive. it looks similar to IDE, but is smaller. none of my machines have any matching interface. for reference, the drive is about 3/8ths thick, to get the size of the connector. thanks!

[Mobile] [2016] Moon base game with giant bouncing robots

There was this game I used to have on my old ipad about 10 years ago. I do not recall the name. Basically, you were in a moon base in the side of a hill. outside the door was a deck with railing and stairs down to the surface. when you’d go outside, you’d soon be chased by these giant robots that bounced on a spring, and shot lasers at you. I know, cringe. I don’t know much more because 8 year old me was too scared of the robots to go explore much.

How can I delay an analog pulse by a small amount?

I’m building an RS170 sync signal generator using vacuum tubes. I could implement the two delays as extra multivibrators, but to save tubes I want to know if I can do it as an RC or LC or LR circuit or network of such. The delays: 1.5 microseconds delay of a 15750hz square wave (delay between blanking and sync pulse for horizontal), and a 190 microsecond one of a 60hz square wave (delay between vertical blanking and vertical equilization gating pulse)

any tips on how to go about this? my tools: oscilloscope, pulse generators (the rest of the circuit), and falstad circuit sim. the pulses do not need to be particularly sharp, only needing to trigger the following stage without more than 1-2 percent phase noise.

Phantastron circuit! It works! Now just time to build the next stage!

I’m building a video camera using only vacuum tubes or solid state diodes. These are some of the waveforms seen in the circuit, which will be the frame time base. I will post schematic in comments

Starting out working on a simple 2D online-multiplayer game in browser

So… yes, I know it will likely take a long time but I’m still interested. I’m trying to make something similar to pony town but in the 2D sidescroller style and with Gacha characters. (Yes, that will be ‘cringe.’) I talked with my dad about this, and he recommended I use typescript or JavaScript to do the game logic. I have ideas for how to pass player information back and forth from client to server (data formats) but not any idea what code would be needed to get that information through the web. The maps are going to be tile based, with code to load new tiles as a player moves, to save client memory. My dad said I should use an http GET to address server files to draw new tiles to the client side as you move, triggered by the position code. I did a little research and read a little about the HTML5 canvas. The game code will need to be able to load and manipulate lots (a few thousand) of SVG files (size, position, color) to form the characters, with animation. Is there any way to automate the animations that move the layered SVGs? I have note pages but I am unable to post the pictures for some reason. I am an amateur hardware engineer, so I’m more used to simple diagrammatic interactions etc etc 😭 thanks!

Yugo M24/47 shooting :)))

I shot a few rounds through my new Mauser. It kicks hard but it is very fun to shoot. I am still terribly shaky when aiming, but I’ll get better with practice. I blew a hole in a 3/4 inch thick cast iron weight at 10 yards at least :)))

So, I need advice for cleaning oil out of my rifle chamber: what to use?

I was oiling my new rifle, and I got some oil in the chamber and barrel. I read that this is not good. I have wiped most of it out, and I believe there is only a thin coat left. If I need to, what should I use to clean it out? I have dish soap, isopropyl (70%), and fels-naptha. I’ll dig around in the drawers to see if there’s any degreasers.

I hereby order you to meme this image

You may crop it however you like or change the background. It might be a good reaction image or something :))

Why am I not getting anything on shortwave/HF? Near Portland OR

I have a receiver I bought, a National SW-54. It works just fine despite its age. I can pick up the AM band just fine, but everything in the amateur bands produces nothing but static. I checked the websdr closest to my location… also nothing. Is all ham activity here in the west happening on VHF/UHF? Is it my antenna? (Random wire antenna from the garage) I get no clicking, no SSB, nothing.

Bought my first! Yugo M24/47

It’s a beauty. The barrel is a little dirty but can be cleaned- and I can pick up an NOS barrel for about a hundred bucks, instead of continuing my search for a completely pristine rifle. Still has a little cosmoline on it, and the extractor was a tad bit bent, but once clean and oiled it should work just fine, hopefully be buttery smooth. I’m a lefty, which is why I chose a rifle with a straight bolt handle, plus more leverage if a case gets stuck. If WW3 or a civil war happens, this will be my gun. :)))))

Old rifles are the best

I bought my first gun! It’s a Yugoslavian M24/47, from at least 80 years ago. It’s in pretty good shape and will be of good service.
