Blue Nun wine. Anyone try this?

I've heard of it but never had any. Nice label.

Day trips

Since it’s summer and lots of us have kids that are not in school, are there any good places to go for day trips or fun overnight trips? Kid friendly of course 😊

Wells Fargo Wix Secure message regarding loan

I have been a customer of Wells Fargo for over twenty years. Today I got an email from Wells Fargo with a secure message using Wix. I’ve never had them send me anything like that before. Anyway, I logged on and it required a secure verification code so I thought it might be legitimate.

The message said that I had a document missing from my small business credit card application. I’ve never applied for this. There was a phone number at the bottom. So I called it. It was an automated system. I spoke to a representative and he said that he could look up my account by the application number (which I didn’t have) or my social security number 🫪. NO!!

Just a heads up!

[Homemade] Sloppy Joe Stromboli

Ingredients:
4 cloves garlic
10 cherry tomatoes
1/3 cup olive oil
1 tablespoon Rosemary
1/2 tablespoons Rubbed Sage
1/2 cup Ketchup
2 Tablespoons Whole grain mustard
2 Tablespoons Worsterschire sauce
1 Chicken bullion cube
1 cup boiling water
1/3 cup brown sugar
1 pound ground beef
1 cup puréed tomatoes
1 tablespoon Wondura flour to thicken
1 pizza crust dough (pre-made)
1 cup shredded cheese blend
Olive oil to spray or brush dough
1 Egg white
2 Tablespoons cold water

Directions: Open pizza dough and roll out flat into baking sheet and either spray or brush with a thin layer of olive oil and let rest. Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees.

Heat deep saucepan or skillet on medium-low heat with garlic, tomatoes, oil, rosemary and sage, ketchup and mustard, Worstershire sauce until tomatoes start to soften. Add bullion, water, sugar. Let cook for about 10 minutes on low heat. Remove garlic cloves. Add ground beef and break apart and increase heat to medium heat. When beef is cooked through add puréed tomatoes and continue to cook. Add Wondura flour if necessary, at this time if mixture is too runny. It should resemble Sloppy Joe filling. The more you heat Wondura, the tighter (thicker and drier) it will make the mix. Add salt and pepper to taste. Remove from heat.

On pizza dough, lay a straight layer of shredded cheese (about 1/2 cup), and top the line with the mixture using a slotted spoon. Fold dough closed on top and pinch shut.
Grab egg and separate the egg white. Mix with water. Brush over the top. Sprinkle with salt and rosemary. Bake for 25 minutes. Increase heat to 425. Bake for 10 more minutes. Let cool. Enjoy.

Sultans Mediterranean Grill

Not a big thing but something that bugs me a lot. I took my daughter out for lunch today at Sultans Mediterranean Grill because their food is really good 🌯! I go back to grab a Dr Pepper and it’s like $2.50. 🤷🏼‍♀️ Whatever. They have a tablet where you tap your card and have the option to leave a tip and quick before I knew it the server added a $1.25 tip and totalled it out. $3.75. I didn’t catch it until I was out the door because I was in a hurry and had my kid.

But, what?! Adding tips? And yes I did tip our order the first time. I didn’t go back or say anything. I figured that word of mouth is good enough. Sucks because I like that place.

Today is day one

Today is day one after years and years of not having seen a sober day. I was sober for almost 15 years at one point but I stopped going to meetings. My work took over, I got married and life seemed more important. It wasn’t. I don’t know when I crossed the tipping point.

I know that I’m dragging along rock bottom and I can’t do it anymore now though. I have a few meetings lined up for today. I know that I just have to make it to midnight. That’s all any of us can do right?

New five Below opening!

Just drove by the closed Rite-Aide in The Marketplace and it looks like there’s going to be a five Below opening in the store, there. It’s on Ming and Haggins Oak.

Where are you at today?

I’m a F/46, lost my husband unexpectedly three years ago and have a 12 yo daughter. I think that after losing my husband I had this idea that there was a pre-widowing and post-loss stage. I assumed that my grief would change because of the time away from the initial shock. But, I have learned that my life has changed in so many different ways.

Many days I get down on myself because of where I am and where I thought I would have been (if he hadn’t died at all). My brain forgets that everything changed one day in March 2023. A terrible butterfly effect. There are days that I sit in my house and feel like I’m going to end up a homeless old woman, completely forgetting that I’m in a rental house for a few months while waiting for my old home to sell.

I just needed to check in. I hope everyone is doing well. Thanks for letting me rant!
