" I stopped meditating because it was bad for my mental health." - Josh Johnson

I don't like to meditate. I feel like I should, but also, that feels like some privileged azz BS. What are ya'll doin' to check your mental health? Is there a style of meditation that would be better for someone like me, who doesn't have a lot of finance or a lot of patience for the way that class and privilege has seemingly cooped this practice.

🌸💐 Varetta Childs’ Outburst Embarrassing Toni 💐🌸

🎬 Girlfriends

Season 2, Episode 20 — “My Mother, Myself”

📅 May 6, 2002

Mother’s Day brings plenty of drama when Toni Childs’ mother, Veretta (Jenifer Lewis), comes to town with her loud, over-the-top personality — completely embarrassing Toni at Joan’s Mother’s Day brunch. 😂🙈

Paris is Burning - Memorable Quotes

There was recently a post crossposted from r/BodegaJukeBox about Arsenio Hall and "Queer Nation" I want folks to know, that there is no homophobia allowed on that sub.

Please do no miscontexualize Arsenio's work and support of the LGBTQ+ community. He like my mother and myself, knew many black and brown POCs from that community who tragically lost their lives in the fight for equality.

Peace.

Paris is Burning - Memorable Quotes (1990)

My mom lost a lot of people around this time to HIV and AIDs. Lots of Black and Brown LGBTQ people feel isolated and unwelcome in the broader community. I want to be clear, to me, if you are queer, you are safe here.

Ok, We Need to Have a Real Conversation about Girlfriends v Sex and The City

I'm not here to start a war. I'm peaceful. But we need to hold a town hall style discussion about the similarities the important differences between these two shows. ( Not including spin offs, or movies although talking about how differently the shows were treated is fair game)

I really want to know what ya'll thinking. I think about this all the time.
