Friend wants to borrow RAM from my laptop to see if that's the problem with his laptop. Is that risky?

So my friend's laptop stopped working and he thinks it could be his ram. He wants to open up my laptop and take out the ram and put it in his laptop to see if it will work.

I'm just afraid it could ruin my laptop. Like maybe he won't be able to put the ram back in correctly or something. Or he will damage something when taking the ram out. If this was my desktop, I would have no problems, but a laptop is harder to manage.

What do you guys think? Is this a risky move or not?

Residence Permit by investment from transferring USD money into my NBE Bank account?

I'm an American that moved to Egypt a little over a year ago and I'm living on a 6 month residence permit by tourism. Apparently after 2 years of applying for these tourism residence permits they will flag it and give me 7 days to leave the country.

Last year I transferred over 50K USD from my US bank account to my NBE Egypt bank account (which got translated to EGP). AI is telling me I can get a 1 year residence permit by investment for this (without actually owning a company or buying real estate or anything). Is that true? This site sort of says that but it's not super specific.

Does anyone know? Should I talk to a legal expert or lawyer to find out?

I'm currently looking for someone to help make Java and Spring Boot videos. These videos will teach Spring Boot concepts and help beginners learn how to start using Spring Boot.

DM if you're interested. I will give interviews to anyone who sends me their resume.

So I had a couple interviews (as a software engineer) and they hired me and they said they'd pay me $100 for the interview process. I stupidly gave them my bank account and routing number and they sent a screenshot showing that they sent the $100.

Then I started getting suspicious about everything. They didn't have a company website and I asked how I knew it wasn't a scam and if they had a LinkedIn account. They then said "you know you're going to be impersonating a developer with 10+ years of experience. We are making the fake profiles for you".

They said it's not 100% legal and that I can leave if I feel uncomfortable impersonating someone. They said they'd pay me $500/month for the onboarding, then it's $5,000 - 20,000 / month. I left.

Sounds like they wanted people that spoke native English and lived outside of the USA (like me). Anyone know about this type of scam? Also: I should add: I already quit the scam company once I realized what was going on.

So it seems like it's almost impossible to land a job as a backend developer (specialized in Java Spring Boot like myself) - there's literally 100s of applications for each opening.

I talked to AI about this and it recommended I learn some cloud skills such as AWS, Kubernetes, and Terraform and rebrand myself as a "Cloud-Native Java Engineer". Then I would have an easier time finding work.

Anyone have any insight on this? Is it true? If not, does anyone have any other advice they could give me for finding an opening? Maybe I could pivot to either DevOps or Cyber Security?

I came from a well off family. And I used to have a friend that would always emphasize how rich my parents were. Every single time I talked to him, he would always be like "Your parents are filthy stinkin rich!". I mean every single time. He would say it really loud so other people could hear.

It made me feel pretty uncomfortable. I think it's maybe because he's basically saying that I don't have to work for anything in life and everything is just handed to me and I've never actually accomplished anything on my own. I eventually just stopped talking to him.

Was he being a jerk for being like this? Or was I being too sensitive to cut ties with him over it?
