Is there any realistic chance that Creative Assembly & Games Workshop introduce their own "Grand Narrative" style event to TW40K in the future? Would that even be something people want?

Just curious 🤷 this is my repost from somewhere else, didn't realize this sub was already made lol.

Is there any precedent for that kind of thing in the Total War Fantasy franchise? I'm not familiar with its history.

I already know GW has a history with narrative driven tournaments via tabletop, and Battlefleet: Gothic (I think??). It just seemed like something that wouldn't be out of the realm of realistic BUT OBVIOUSLY LONG TERM, NOT RELEASED ON LAUNCH goals for the game. I'm not thinking a narrative as lore changing as the 13th crusade, though perhaps something with a similar format?? Where they compare Total war games and Battle Fleet Gothic (or some other game IDK) to each other and see who wins.

Though just using the game + tabletop could be interesting as well and may be easier, I was just thinking using two videogames together.

Especially if there's success similar to SM2, it could be an avenue for GW to guide more casual Warhammer fans into the GW space. If video-gamers were able to conceivably change the setting in some miniscule fashion, I'm sure they'd be more willing to wanna pick up lore books and perhaps codexes for tabletop.

I ask if people would want it, because it would take a lot of investment and maybe could be too taxing for an experiment like total war 40k

What Chapter would you like to see Saber expand on with cosmetics packs? Preferably ones represented in some books.

Seeing the Raptors and Exorcists get some love was not something I thought to put on my bingo card, but I am incredibly thrilled that they are.

What I am most excited for with this particular pair of chapters, is that they can be an avenue for some fans to branch out into a wider range of lore, using affordable one-off books and short stories that don't require a sequel.

Both of these chapters have really great books attached to their legacy. Plus, lesser known short stories that I have personally never read.

For the Exorcists

- "Oaths of Damnation," written by Robbie MacNiven. ($17.99 paperback)

- "Within These Walls," a short story written by C.Z. Dunn. (Appears to be free in the Black Library but not certain)

- I have heard that Exorcist Death Watch characters in Death Watch stories are particularly interesting.

For the Raptors

- "Elemental Council" - Main Antagonist within a Tau book, written by Noah Van Nguyen. ($14.40 paperback)

- "The Shot that Kills You." - a short story written by William Crowe. (Appears to be free in the Black Library but not certain)

While I am not the first to admit there are plenty of more narratively important titles, I believe these small and cheap pockets of lore are great to immerse yourself into the setting as a whole, enhancing the experience whenever you do end up reading the more important pieces.

What other Chapters within Space Marine 2 have a similar representation of 1-2 books that you would like to see Saber expand on with cosmetics?

Are Rubric Marines common knowledge within most Loyalist Astartes chapters??

Just curious if many, if any, veteran marines would take a glance at their mission-brief containing thousand sons and immediately think of Rubric - or if an Astartes would initially believe that they're fighting all flesh-forms and then later on figure it out / potentially struggle to adapt to the dust buckets.

Is it similar to Dark Angels and the Fallen? Where a recruit marine may not ever be permitted to learn about Rubric until they're more tenured in their position / finally find out about them via first-hand experience??

Also, would they know anything about Rubrics origins? Are they, or another Imperium organization, investigating how Rubric Marines work??

ASKING SM2/ANY CONSOLE GAME MODDERS! Do you guys have any initial thoughts about mods being accessible to console?

Just curious if any modders are willing to give insight or their off-the-hip opinion about Space Marine 2 modding coming to consoles.

Preferably those who work on Space Marine 2 or Arma Reforger, or other games that have transferred mods to console if there are any? Though I would also love to hear why you as a modder *wouldn't* work on console mods.

Will you guys jump on the opportunity? Will you refuse to touch console modding?

What were the most prominent challenges?

What are your biggest positives for console modding?

What are the general differences in how you approach creating a mod when it comes to making one oriented towards console vs oriented to PC? Positives or negatives.

I still waiver between Judiciar and Chaplain.

I still think this could be Judiciar guys.

Maybe I'm crazy, but their need to say "or something else maybe?" Makes me question those saying Chaplain or Apothecary.

Though perhaps I'm wrong and it's supposed to be heavy-handed to throw us off? If I'm just feeding into it - Bravo Saber.

But surely by now the devs know which class is coming next, right? And whether or not they do know, Saber is still trying to be secretive about which it is - but why would they even mention the Apothecary or Chaplain at all?

Also, yes the Greatsword is on the back-burner. But they still haven't mentioned much with the new class either. The 1H hammer might be the first weapon to come out, but with Greatsword + Judiciar being released later.

Like.. if they had just left it at "Absolver Bolt Pistol will be the signature weapon of the upcoming class." + Lack of Greatsword, I would genuinely be more convinced it's the Chaplain.

But so far it seems like Saber wants to have this big reveal later on - it feels like Saber wants us on the edge of our seat about what it could be - so why mention the two predominant theories of the new class, plus the "something else?" If you're still holding off on revealing?

Man, this analogy is about to be dumb as fuck I think BUT BEAR WITH ME HERE-

But imagine you're holding onto a wedding ring in your pocket. You need to make sure no one knows about it until your big proposal at the end of the day. If someone asks about the box imprint in your jeans, you're not gonna say;

"Oh well maybe it's a ring box, maybe it's a phone 🤷"

Like why would you even want to imprint that idea, even as a joke, of it being a ring box in someone's head if you want to hide it?

I think they were purposely saying it that way because it's going to be just that. Something else.

Now, I have almost no idea about the Absolver Bolt Pistol - though as far as I can tell from about 10 minutes of searching, it's primarily a Chaplain pistol. So 🤷 maybe it is Chaplain.

But I just don't see why they would've worded the sentence the way they did unless it truly was something else.

Space Marine 2 has officially kept a Console player from going to PC.

Depending on how the actual quality releases of course - but there's no doubt in my mind that I'm willing to stay on console for a bit longer with Mod Support coming to consoles.

Phase ONE will integrate the steam workshop?? That's nutty!! This, plus how expensive PCs are getting nowadays (Damn you Steam Machine 😡) - there's no reason for me to feel this incredible FOMO that I see other console players struggle with.

If it's as expansive as they're implying, I'll stay on console for another 3-5 years just getting my fix for Space Marine 2 while Spare Marine 3 gets released and polished out. This is incredible - Thank you so much to Saber for giving us console plebs an upgrade. You guys and Bohemia Interactive will be doing the Lord's work when it comes to making sure Console players aren't completely left in the dust for mods.

#As unlikely as it is, this gives me hope that other companies will attempt mod support for consoles in the future. And I am incredibly excited for that future.

The entirety of the Jedi Order are blanks while still being able to use the Force. How do they fair?

I constantly see comments and posts that boil down to "Most Jedi wouldn't be able to compete against your average psyker."

So I'm just curious if giving them the status as a blank would change things for the better or worse. I think in the long run, they'd fair better.

#Their blankness is relative to their power in the force within SW. Anakin would be one of the most potent blanks within The Order.

-----------------

I personally believe the Jedi would be wrangled by the Inquisition or Sisters of Silence. If they aren't immediately put down, there would be a massive investigation as to how these blanks are using the force.

Thousands of Jedi are likely dying within the first decades of their introduction.

But over time, I believe Rogue Traders and Inquisitors and other Nobles would enlist the human Jedi (sorry Plo Koon you're probably fuckin ganked tho) into their retinues after finding out the Jedi are stable specimens that aren't hindered by the Warp. They'd soon establish themselves as a fundamental asset to the lower-level operations of the Inquisition and other roles underneath nobilities.

I could see a world where some are taken by the Assassinorum, but they'd have to be Anakin levels of powerful IMHO. But let me know!

Best single piece of media or activity to get a newcomer into 40k, for each faction.

Whether its having your friend watch Pariah Nexus to get into The Salamanders, playing Rogue Trader for Rogue Traders, getting drunk and trying to paint Harlequins, or reading the Night Lords Trilogy for chaos, or perhaps prophet of the WAAGH of Speed Freaks for Orks.

The Tau find out they're in the Star Wars universe just before they would otherwise face the Imperium in Damocles. The year is 18 ABY. How are they doing?

  • This will take place immediately after the 2nd Sphere makes septs within the Damocles Gulf, but before the reclamation crusade. This means Commander Farsight and his contingent would still be within the Tau proper.

  • The other previous Tau Septs from 40k exists, consider this a small expansion to the galactic East of the Star wars universe.

  • The Star Wars planets that are immediately next to the Damocles Gulf are Kessel, Eadu, Lothal, and any other planet in that region.

  • The Tau have limited time to figure out how Hyperlanes work and how to route them and take them safely before the Yuuzhan Vong War, however their FTL drives and star-ship infrastructure are compatible with Star Wars FTL transportation.

Where would you rank the Grand Army of the Republic in a tier list of Imperial Guardsmen? Are they more useful vs any particular 40k faction?

  • The Grand Army is at peak power during the clone wars, so roughly 6 million (??) clones + Home planet of Kamino that is constantly making more clones.

  • How do Clone Commandos and ARC compare to Imperium Regiment specialists?

  • Republic Navy is also a factor here, though I don't know how many ships they had. I'd like to just make the assumption that there's enough to meet majority of the Imperium's demands.

While all other Clone Navy abilities are present, the Navy still faces the same issues as the Imperium with FTL Travel and must also have Navigators and Gellar fields. The Navy would be way too OP otherwise IMO.

  • Kamino and the Xenos species on the planet are forever protected from being discovered by the Imperium, being protected by multiple Inquisitorial guises and protections.

  • For common ground id like to simply give every battalion their respective Jedi and a Padawan, but no more and no less. Yes, all the named Jedi are here if they lead a known battalion.

  • Jedi are sanctioned Psykers.

  • Jedi council are manipulated to see the God Emperor and it's forces as ultimately worth fighting for, similarly to how they view the Senate and the Republic.

  • Order 66 will never be used by a member of the Imperium, but Inhibitor chips and the Orders do exist initially. Meaning an outside force could find a work-around for chips.

I'm also curious if y'all believe things would sway much if the entire 10,000 strong Order was present.

  • Kamino is somewhere in the central area of the Ultima Segmentum, perhaps slightly leaning towards Badab.

  • They appear as a fighting force right after the Cicatrix Maledictum (The Great Rift).

Having a hard time figuring out how to use insurance

Basically I got my insurance (Premier PPO) when I worked at Walmart and then I transferred to Sam's Club, Walmart never sent me my physical card or physical info, and Sam's Club managers are just too busy to do much for me right now so idek if Sam's could or will resend my stuff.

I really need to go see a doctor for the flu (I'm hoping it's the flu 🤧) but whenever I look at Walmarts benefits website to look for local providers that take Premier PPO, it only shows a list of plans and what my plan looks like compared to other.

I just don't have a great idea of what I'm doing and the managers are too busy ATM to walk me through it. How do I proceed?

Does EA know about our want for Battlefront 3 at all at this point?

I feel like the community has been So. Freaking. Vocal. We show up when it's needed the most like our resurgence days. We speak our mind whenever we get the chance on forums or in comment sections that relate to Star Wars Gaming, and we tell them in their own comments whenever they make social media posts.

Surely they have the numbers for player counts over the years. Surely they've read or heard about a decent chunk of the comments and social media posts. They *have* to know what we think to some degree, right??

Hell, they even added Star Wars to Fortnite. Battlefront 3 on Fortnite was almost immediately the first gamemode everyone got hype for.

Does someone have to tell them personally? Do we have to start yelling out from the crowd during game shows? Can we send a crap load of hand-written-letters to their home-office??

Idk. Maybe I'm completely out of the loop and EA or other game studios have already voiced wanting to make BF3 and this post is completely invalid. But MAN, I have not seen anything that shows that they have acknowledged us. It feels like they're oblivious. Which is weird imo, because we have money that we want to throw towards a Battlefront again! They don't care about us that's for sure, but damn I thought they'd care about our money!

Ik I'm being the keyboard warrior type and this is all stupidly grandiose and I'm doing too much, but I'm starting my weekend gimme a break 🤣 I'm just a man that knows what he wants.

This is how I got into the Star Wars movies, and thinking back on it, I believe it was the best way to start watching.

- Episode I, Phantom Menace.

- Episode IV, A New Hope.

- Episode V, Empire Strikes Back.

- Episode VI, Return of the Jedi.

- Episode II, Attack of the Clones.

- Episode III, Revenge of the Sith.

I can't go into TOO MUCH details cause I'm on lunch break and don't have all my thoughts neatly listed before typing, but I think being able to see a young Anakin as a child with no context was great. I personally had many months to a year+ wondering what the hell they were gonna do with Anakin until I got my hands on the original trilogy.

I also got my hands on the OG trilogy *after* Lucas added Hayden Christensen to Return of the Jedi, and I had no idea the same Actor was gonna be in Attack of the Clones & Revenge of the Sith afterwards.

Once I got into Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith, I was completely gripped the entire way through on how and why TF Anakin was gonna turn sides - I think being able to see young Anakin, then straight to his dark side representation without any good prequel knowledge was 🤌 true peak for me.

Curious if anyone else had thoughts on this, as I know I'm dusting off an ancient conversation and it's probably been rehashed over and over and over, but it's usually (from what I have seen) simply about watching release order vs chronological order.

I just found out that Pepsi discontinued those wonderful drinks 😭 are there any that, if existed, would even be good to drink now if I had made an attempt to buy from a 3rd party? I miss that vanilla so much

Almost at my first 2 weeks here. I'm honestly loving it.

Transferred from Walmart stocking 1 over to AM full-time merchandising and I genuinely have enjoyed myself, curious how many others can say the same. Only asking because naturally, people will post their negative experiences over their good ones.

The time shift from having to wake up at 2-3 and going to sleep at 8-9 is still a little rough right now. But that's legitimately my only major complaint I have - cause when I'm at work here I somehow feel refreshed, maybe because I feel like I got time to get work done - those 4 hours without customers are sublime.

But even when customers are in, it's actually mostly pleasant? People are (usually) all walking on the right side, and they actually look both ways before bombing through an aisle corner, and the folks seem friendly enough even when my device slows down trying to find an item.

Not to mention the cafe 🤤 while I'm 100% gonna get fat with how cheap some of the food is, even the weighty salads are only like 3 bucks and they're amazing, it's so nice not having to worry about packing lunch or face a $13 lunch bill. AND THE BREAKROOM OMG - best break room I've ever seen - even has its own private crushed ice machine plus free energy drinks and waters on the table, what's not to love about that?!?

I'm sure it also helps that I'm finally getting paid a decent wage for what I'm doing, but man it feels great being here overall.

I always think I'm out of place lurking in the Sam's reddit because everyone else seems to be posting their bad experiences, hoping I can hear some good ones today. Cheers!

What did I just pull out of my Series S? 😭

Was going to clean it, did a very simple unscrewing of one of the green torx t10 screw that holds the shell together. Should I be concerned?? It's a small puff of what I assume is metal that was threaded so finely that it feels like wool, but I got no idea.

I placed the piece as close to where it was on the screw that I could, it came off from the smallest pressure but it definitely was connected somehow.

Does Jar Jars luck factor outmatch DOOM Guys "Too badass to die" factor?

I'm almost positive the answer I'll get most is no, DOOM Guy is better. But I just really want to listen to arguments for why Jar Jar would manage to take a W 😂

With Year 3 support being confirmed, I just wanted to see where people are at.

IDK why the complaints tag is on here I didn't click that one.

Personally, I've been crushing and loving the PvE the most, but I really want to see PvP expanded on (and please give us the darn Camera-angle-switching).

For the most part they've really out done themselves in the PvE. Of course there's always some things they can change (Still think the tarantula needs better positioning), but if their mission release schedule stays similar, I really don't see the need to give it hard focus?

I would really love to see them try out some PvP expansion and give us the camera angle switching (they likely won't). Ideally, in the perfectest world, I want Saber to try out their version of Eternal Crusade.

Give us the taste of Warhammer Battlefront that many of us want! While I don't think "Battlefront: 40k" is truly feasible on SM2 - something akin to it (Eternal Crusade) would be somewhat feasible with this game in year 3. More PvE players may be keen to try PvP within a larger layout with more players per team within open terrain, perhaps alongside NPCs? Anything that feels more casual, as the current PvP is imo a fast-paced, competitive-tournament layout. Not suitable for the larger base. But Unfortunately, I'm assuming we will just have more of that format and get quicker gamemodes such as kill confirmed or just simple arena expansions.

Y'all got thoughts?
