Hey yall.
Been getting into to more country music as of late, and I really enjoy the softer, more somber sounding songs. Songs that sound a little haunting. The first 30 seconds of Far From Any Road is *exactly* what I'm looking for, but the rest of the song doesn't quite match that feeling. Could I get some recommendations of more songs like that?
Cheers.
Hey yall, playing an elf dexadin with a one handed sword. I would like him to have a shield, but they just don't fit the vibe. Big shield, small shield, buckler, nothing fits. I would love some suggestions for what to flavour the shield as to be more fitting for the character. Opinions I've got so far is things like a parrying dagger, a cloak, an armoured gauntlet. What other options have yall heard of, thought up, or used?
Playing in a Grim Hollow game soon and the DM is letting me play a gargoyle! They're letting me reflavour one of the official races, I just have to choose one. I'm not too familiar with all the DnD races, but I have a few things I'm looking for that I hoped you all could help me narrow it down from.
Flight - An obvious one. Dudes got some big ol wings only makes sense he can fly. Or perhaps glide if flight isn't an option?
Natural Armour - Dude is big and stony, would probably make sense he gets a natty AC buff.
Special long rests/trace - Unsure how to describe this one other than that. I think him perching up somewhere to get rest but not necessarily be "asleep" sounds thematic..
Claws/Tail attack - I know some races get unarmed attacks special so that could definitely work for him.
Thanks in advance!
I have a racial ability that makes my character take a long rest in 4 hours. Given the other party members take 8, and I don't want to make the group sit through a "me me me" mini adventure every time my character has 4 hours free, what would you all recommend I do during those 4 free hours?
Roleplay things aside, I would like those hours to be functionally useful without taking up too much RP time.
Hey yall, newish to DnD and thinking about playing a druid in a new game. I was looking at playing a circle of starts druid, and was very excited until I saw the level 6 ability. Is it me, or is cosmic omen super weak and underwhelming? For a level 6 ability you get to add/subtract on average 3.5 from a roll 3 times a day. Versus subs like shepherd super boosting summons and spores getting to raise a killed creature in combat at 6th, it just feels bad.
I see this being the go-to for a looot of people's builds to pump damage, but taking a -5 to hit just sounds so detrimental to your average DPR. That's more than the average negative from disadvantage, so I can't image the +10 is more than the new pile of misses.
Anyone have experience or have crunched the numbers?
Title. Long story short I would love to get some tips on how to reveal big parts of a character's backstory without it just turning into a boring one-man monologue. I'm the type of guy that could easily take 5 minutes straight talking about just my character in-character, but that feels like a lot for the other players to just sit there and listen to without any input. Especially if I'm playing a character that isn't usually so chatty.
It was such a good way to diversify the playstyle without needing to add entire new weapons. But both the arbites and skitarii's weps don't seem to have them.
Title. Starting a new game at level 4 and will have access to 4 feats (one freebie at character creation, one origin feat, one from variant human, and one from level 4 in place of ASI).
I am planning on playing this character hybrid, using my beast form + rage for melee combat and spells for utility/control when not in wild shape. Non wild shape melee is also a possibility.
I have access to both 2024 and 2014 feats, please advise!
I got a very old knife from my great grandfather before he passed and want to maintain it.
