I am aware of how subjective wine ratings are, so this question may not have a real answer, but here it is. When I see a rating - particularly for a wine that benefits from long aging such as a Bordeaux, say - am I to take the rating as indicative of the reviewer’s opinion of the wine‘s quality at the time of that tasting or more representative of the wine’s future potential after optimal aging? Thanks in advance to any of you wine pros who can help enlighten me on this point (or just provide helpful info related to putting wine ratings into context).
