ISO queer friendly room

Hey everyone apartment searching has been exhausting

I’m currently looking for a apartment around 800-1200$ and looking to move sometime in august or September 1st

I'm a 23 years old trans woman and enjoy all types of gaming, for example PC games, card games, and board games. I often spend my weekends going out and playing card games at stores.

Little about my work I currently work from home and need stable internet and wired connection(Ethernet cord into router) but I don’t ever stay home during my off time work I enjoy going out and getting some sun and hanging out with my friends.

All I need is a safe place to call home and some safe people to be around!

If you need any information let me know I’m also always open to calling and getting to know my roommates prior to move in.

NYC Mayor Zohran Mamdani joined inmates at the Rikers Island jail to watch England's World Cup semifinal against Argentina. The watch party was part of a program for prisoners rewarded for good behavior.

Woman sticking her stinky feet next to me

i was on the train after work and this woman just… took off her shoes and stuck her bare feet across the seats towards me INCHES FROM MY LAP essentially. I was sitting with one seat between and she just… extended them further until I had to move. Then she stuck them out fully and I had to move again. I could smell it too and had to get up. Was so nonchalant the whole time 😭

What the actual fuck?!? Istg this would never happen before covid is this normal now??

Edit: why does everyone think I’m a guy 🫩 straight woman (who finds feet gross) and yes I should have said something but I was honest to god gagged by the audacity

Why does everyone say to “mind your business?”

Context: I’ll be in NYC this summer for work. I’m from Minneapolis, a notoriously friendly city.

After browsing reddit for some advice, I’ve found that everyone mentions to “mind your own business?” I get just kinda tuning out your surroundings out of respect and the chaos of the city, but is there a reason why?

I’m so used to smiling at randoms on the street here in Minneapolis and making small talk with strangers. Want to be respectful and avoid trouble.

Any other advice would be appreciated!

Edit: Thanks to everyone who took the time to reply. I will be minding my biz!

Car doors stolen @ 2nd Street & Prospect Park W

Hi! My roommate’s 2 right side doors were stolen last night. Anyone have any ring camera footage of the area? We’ve talked to the police and insurance. There are apparently detectives assigned to the case, but I wanted to do my due diligence incase they don’t find anything.

Thanks!

Where are women in their 30s organically meeting serious men?

30F from NYC and I genuinely don’t understand modern dating anymore 😭

Every single time I go outside, I get stared at, complimented, or catcalled. Men always assume I have some huge roster or that I’m constantly dating, but the reality is… I’ve literally been single my entire life 💀

I think people assume attractive women automatically have endless dating options, but attention and actual intentional approaches are two VERY different things.

Most of the attention I get feels surface-level, unserious, or just straight up awkwardness. I rarely experience men actually approaching with confidence, conversation, and genuine intentions.

And before anyone asks: no, I don’t want dating apps lol. I want to meet someone organically in real life.

The problem is I work remotely, I’m naturally introverted unless I’m comfortable, and I honestly don’t know WHERE people are meeting quality men anymore. Especially in NYC where everyone seems emotionally unavailable, scared to approach, or only looking for hookups.

So realistically:

Where do women in their late 20s/30s organically meet serious men these days?

Not club guys.

Not “wyd” texters.

Not men looking for a situationship.

I mean normal, confident, emotionally mature men between late 20s to early 40s who are actually intentional and not afraid to approach women respectfully in real life.

I’m a Black woman, 30, born and raised in New York, and honestly just tired of feeling isolated romantically and socially.

Any genuine advice is appreciated because I refuse to believe staying home and hoping my soulmate spawns into my living room is the solution 😭

Is anyone driving from NYC to South Carolina or Georgia on Friday?

I know this is an absolutely insane request and I’ll probably get posted in the circle jerk sub for this but somerhing came up last minute where I need to get to southern SC or the Savannah area. If need be I can fly but quite frankly the tickets are super expensive for last minute travelers. I know Amtrak exists but that is also super expensive. So, if anyone is doing something like that I would of course be more than happy to pay for gas + any extra reasonable cost.

Isolation from Brooklyn friends?

I'm being completely irrational... with that being said... obviously it's not too long a ride from east williamsburg/bushwick area, 40ish minimum. 25 min car ride. i'm worried this move im making to astoria is gonna isolate me from friends.

Is $2.99 a lb for ground beef the cheapest deal in NYC right now?

I saw this deal at Chinatown Supermarket of Manhattan. East Broadway. They said no photos allowed so I couldn’t take a photo. The ground pork for $1.99 a lb was there too and it looked fatty. I couldn’t tell the lean for the ground beef since it wasn’t listed. I saw much higher prices around lower manhattan.
