Is it a waste of session time/client's money for a therapist to do the intake verbally during the session instead of giving the client a form to complete beforehand?

Some of those intake forms can be time consuming to fill out, especially if the therapist is reading everything out verbally and considering that the session is only 50 minutes to begin with.

I just had a therapist tell me that they do their intake in session. I don't know if I like that. That's a lot of dollars per minute that I'm going to be paying just to have the therapist confirm my zip code and stuff like that.

I asked a student "you are not out roaming around the halls, are you?" and she couldn't keep a straight face lol

She said she wasn't, but her smirk betrayed her lol. She couldn't hold it in.

Just 10 minutes earlier, there was an email go out about her roaming around.

How do you deal with a student like this?

Grade 9 students. I'm a school librarian.

I was kind of caught off guard.

I think I genuinely have a good relationship with them, it wasn't sarcasm. I just didn't know what to say back.
