Shady, 13 weeks old and 14 pounds. He's like the Energizer Bunny and the Tasmanian Devil all rolled into an adorable bundle of irrepressible energy.

Waiting for their master/mistress?

I was walking my dog today in a pet cemetery that adjoins a people cemetery. These headstones faced the pet cemetery. It appears these dogs are awaiting their people, and have a view of their friends in the pet cemetery.

Shady, 3 months old

He is fearless and unstoppable but he does a good Recall. I know he's not reliable yet but we keep working on it.

Shady just got home from the vet. He is 14 pounds and perfectly healthy. The vet commented on how muscular he is. He's on the thin side of normal.

I was recently at Hungry Mother SP in VA and a sign there talked about how thrilled the boys were to be able to eat their fill at CCC camps and how these young men typically gained about 11 pounds their first month due to being able to eat as much as they liked.

Bread, beans, and milk were mentioned in the sign. A 19 yo in the depression they said they were happy to work for food alone. CCC laborers got $30 a month with $25 being sent home to their parents leaving $5 a month for their personal needs.

Our little brown dog that won't quit. If he's in the crate with the door closed he's frantic. He cries and digs and howls. For hours. He was delightful all day, playing and exploring. He goes potty outside but he will only sleep if he's not in the crate. He wants to be touching me at all times. I know he's just been wrenched from his family and this takes time but it's only getting worse. We even tried putting the crate in our bed. I'm sleep.deorived and desperate. He had been sleeping in a crate with his siblings for seven hours at night.
