Golf 7 Interior Upgrade: Better Than Expected!

Just gave my 2017 Golf GTI a small interior upgrade today! This is probably the most carefully planned mod I’ve done so far, and it really feels meaningful. The results even exceeded my expectations. I did run into a tiny hiccup during installation, but the seller’s support made everything smooth in the end. Anyone else tried similar upgrades on a 2017 GTI? Would love to hear your experiences

Custom interior setup

Custom interior setup is finally coming together. Super happy with how clean and OEM+ everything turned out — completely changed the vibe inside the car.

I did it.

This is the Caraktis ambient lighting kit I ordered about two weeks ago. Been super busy lately, so I kinda just left the box sitting in the corner and forgot about it. Yesterday I randomly came across it again and decided to finally give it a shot. Spent a few hours messing with the install while following the instructions, and I finally got everything done. Go easy on me though, this is my first time doing something like this lol.

Had this Caraktis ambient kit in for a few months now—finally snapped some after pics. Don’t roast me too hard, it’s not a mobile nightclub haha

Got my Caraktis kit and wasn’t about to tackle it solo, so I hit up my buddy. We knocked it out together—came out way better than I expected lol.

Just wrapped up my W205 interior—installed a 7-piece ambient lighting kit from Caraktis. Super easy plug-and-play install, no messy wiring. Fitment came out clean and the interior feels way more premium now.

I installed these ambient lights about six months ago, and now I’m getting ready to sell the car. I really put a lot of time and effort into getting everything just right back then. Hopefully the next owner appreciates it and takes good care of it.

Caraktis plug-and-play ambient lighting kit installed on a 2026 Civic—perfect finish.

Before installing, I was torn for a while—some said it messes with your vision at night, others said it looks like a moving club. Everyone has their own opinion, but honestly, if you like it, go for it! Plus, it feels pretty great when driving too!

Honestly, this looks way better than the stock lighting—this is how a BMW interior is supposed to feel. What do you guys think?

Second round of interior upgrades done. Finally swapped in a carbon fiber steering wheel—really ties the whole cabin together.

Nothing crazy, just a clean upgrade

Did a couple simple mods on my buddy’s 2025 SE today—added a Caraktis ambient lighting kit, kept everything nice and clean. Came out way better than expected.

Payment was free food, can’t complain 😂
