Help me find a venue!

Hi! I’m throwing a surprise party soon and it’s going to be sports card themed! Does anyone have any ideas for a place that wouldn’t be to expensive, would not give anything away, and is still relevant enough it connects in Wichita? I’m even up to hear ideas for things to do or have at the party too if there’s any major party planners who live for this kind of stuff that have been bored lol I need your help! 🤣 sorry for my chaotic word vomit

[request] Send Cards to help me create an amazing gift/project [kansas,USA]

This might be a little different than the usual requests here, but I had this idea and really want to see what comes from it.
My husband is turning 25, and while putting together his birthday gift, I accidentally started building the beginning of something MUCH bigger.
I’m working on starting a foundation with one simple goal: **helping kids believe they can do incredible things, no matter where they come from or what life has thrown at them.**
Sports, athletes, stories, collecting, and memorabilia will be a big part of how I hope to do that.
So I thought… why not ask a bunch of completely random people to help me start it? 😂
If you’re willing to send a card, put **whatever you want inside.**
⚾️ A drawing from you or your kids
🏆 A sports memory that means something to you
❤️ An athlete who inspired you and why
👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 A family sports story or tradition
💭 An idea for something the foundation could do for kids
💰 A fundraising idea
🏪 An idea for the future sports-card shop/grading side
📚 An educational idea
🌎 An idea for how athletes, teams, schools, collectors, businesses, museums, or regular people could help
💌 Or just some encouragement for a mom trying to build something completely from scratch
Seriously…ANYTHING**.**
A drawing, story, memory, idea, joke, question, advice, or even something your kid scribbled on a piece of paper.
I don’t want these to just be random cards in a box. I want them to be little pieces of the beginning.
If this eventually becomes what I hope it can become, I want to be able to look back and remember the strangers who decided to throw a tiny piece of their own story into this crazy idea. ❤️
And if you’re reading this thinking, *“Wait… what exactly are you building?”* — tell me! I’d LOVE to send you a card back explaining the foundation and bigger vision, because if you’re contributing to the beginning, I want you to know what you’re becoming a tiny part of.
You don’t need money, connections, or to even be a huge sports fan.
I just want to hear from people and give you all the chance to be apart of one tiny piece to something that hopefully becomes something really meaningful. 🥹❤️

Help planning surprise party

Hi all!! My husbands turning 25 in October! I’m starting to plan a little early so I can pull off an awesome surprise! I want to throw a sports card themed surprise party! Does any one have any ideas on what I should include with this theme? I’m in Kansas so I’m not really sure where to host this that wouldn’t be too expensive but also not as obvious as our house and all of the cars parked outside giving it away haha. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Probably a long shot…(ISO) (Any Sport) requesting unwanted sports cards/bulk

Hello!! ‼️‼️ KANSAS FRIENDS ‼️‼️
I am working on a few different projects and I am in dire need of anyone in the community who has access to sports cards of any sport any years any kind that they are willing to donate to help me out and I help out by getting them out of your space and hoarding up my own! Haha! Wichita area and close cities I can have the stuff picked up and off your hands as soon as tomorrow if you’d want them gone asap!

I’m just going to generalize the projects if anyone wants to hear more or even help me spread the word of this farther in trying to reach as many people as I can (not about getting bulk cards but other aspects of the projects!) let me know which one you wanna hear more of and we can chat! I just don’t wanna have a 10000 page essay of a post!

Project 1. For my boys’s birthdays this year I want to start them out with just a really full collection but obviously base to start but with base they’re able to learn and cherish all generations of the sports.

Project 2. My father played in the NBC tournament and then went off to semi pro ball in the 80s and I’m on a hunt to create a keepsake of all of the players that he played with and or against during that time that made it all the way to the bigs. And maybe even get into contact with some of them sharing this story not necessarily asking for anything in return but just to share a story that might take them back and make them smile

Project 3. My husbands secret surprise birthday extravaganza I have been reaching out to a lot of teams and organizations and fans to help me create a very special top secret surprise sports card themed birthday party and with all of the cards and responses I have received by the party will be put into a keepsake for him to be able to share with our kids and some day our grandkids and so on for years!

Lastly project 4. I am working on starting a nonprofit that has to do with sports cards. Children. Type 1 diabetes. And the players and all of the people and coaches behind the scenes and working in the stadiums, etc. if anyone knows anything about getting a nonprofit up and started or getting the gears moving if you will I’d love help and even some people who may be interested in being apart of the foundation as a whole!

Thank you for taking the time to read this long saga
Sincerely, a momma who wants to keep the true meaning of sports and the kindness and heart of the game alive when it’s sadly slowly fading away.

Looking for bulk collections

This might be a long shot, but I figured I’d ask. 😊
Does anyone have a box of old sports cards or memorabilia they’re not doing anything with and wouldn’t mind parting with?
I’m working on a really special project for my family that’s centered around sports, the stories behind them, and preserving those memories for my kids. It doesn’t matter if they’re valuable or just a bunch of commons—I’d honestly love them all.
If you were already planning on getting rid of them and would be willing to let me have them for free, I’d be so thankful. I’d be giving them a home where they’ll actually be looked through, appreciated, and become part of something that’s really meaningful to me.
If you have any you’d be willing to pass along, just send me a message. Thanks so much! ❤️

Please Help me

So this is probably a long shot but here I am lol. I’m working on this amazing/ birthday present that my husband can cherish with our two sons for years and their kids for generations so on and so on. Now I am a stay at home mom, 23, still in college online, the list goes on and on that being said I am not the most financially stable or wealthy if you will lol.
I know that probably sounds bad but hear me out please.
For this project there’s two things I’m dying to add that would make this so much more amazing so I am asking
Is there any artists who would either for free help me create some photo mosaics (those ones that take tons of other photos to come together to create another photo) of my boys and their namesakes and also someone who’d be willing to draw or sketch some things for me (people who can do athletes and people in general well would be best for this project but anyone willing to help me would be amazing!)

Thank you from a mom who needs all the help she can get to pull off this amazing surprise!

Requesting/asking for a favor…help for a special super super secret birthday surprise!

Hi everyone!

If any one knows of anyone looking to get rid of their sports collections of any kind please send them in my direction! I don’t have a ton of money but hopefully someone’s willing to help me out!
Also if anyone knows some good organizations, people, places or honestly someone that may know how to get in contact with players in some way please let me know even though I am almost 10000% sure that is impossible lol!
I had such an amazing response to my first initial post!
I just wanted to say thank you for all the kindness on my last post. I was honestly blown away by the responses. Several people even reached out and asked if they could send something personally to include in the birthday gift I’m making for my husband.
Reading those comments was the most amazing feeling knowing that there are people out there willing to help me all over! With that being said if anyone is interested in helping me with this keepsake project that was be amazing, weather that be writing us a letter or email about a player or a sports story that inspired you, sending a birthday card, maybe some sports cards or a pack if you’re feeling generous, or anything at all, I would be so grateful and so touched that so many people too some time out of their day to help me!
Let me reexplain the project at hand, a super secret birthday surprise.
So let me start from the beginning.
This may look like a sports memorabilia project…
But it’s really a family legacy project.
My husband has loved sports cards for years, but what has always meant the most to him isn’t the value of a card, he see all of the stories behind it. Every player, every team, every autograph, every ticket, every program, every little piece of sports history represents a memory and the people who helped shape the game.
My husbands had a tough year through major life changes, difficulties with his type 1 diabetes and so many other things wearing him down I wanted to create the most special infamous gift/keepsake that we can look through for generations to come!
For his 25th birthday, I’m creating something I hope our family will treasure forever.
I’m building a one of a kind or lol 1/1 (if you will) keepsake that tells the story of sports through the people who make it special. Not just the superstars, but everyone: the players, coaches, broadcasters, photographers, grounds crews, front office staff, mascots, volunteers, collectors, fans, communities, and anyone whose life has been touched by sports.
I’ve been reaching out to players, teams, colleges, organizations, broadcasters, mascots, and others across the country, asking if they’d be willing to become part of this keepsake by sharing a signature, a note, or even a favorite sports memory.
My dream is that years from now, our two little boys will be able to sit beside their dad and flip through these pages together. I hope they’ll learn that sports have never just been about winning championships or collecting valuable cards.
They’re about perseverance after failure.
They’re about teamwork, family, community, generosity, and inspiring the next generation.
Every contribution tells another chapter of that story.
Then someday, I hope our boys can share it with their own children, and they’ll see that this collection wasn’t built by one person. It was built by thousands of people connected by a love of sports and a willingness to make a difference in someone else’s life.
After reading all of your comments, I realized something.
This story shouldn’t just include famous names.
It should include the incredible people from this community too.
So if you’d like to be part of this family keepsake, I’d be honored.
Whether it’s a favorite base card from your childhood, a ticket stub, a birthday card, a team postcard, a handwritten note, a story about your favorite sports memory, or simply a few words about what sports have meant to you, every contribution becomes another piece of this story.
(An amazing example: today we were working a card show so I let in some other venders on what I was creating and they cut me so many deals and gave me so many things (from autographed balls to full card sets) to take home and put into this project for my husband and our boys, I am so utterly blessed!)
This isn’t about creating the most valuable collection.
It’s about creating the most meaningful one.
If you’d like to be part of something that I hope our family will cherish for generations, leave a comment or send me a message.
Thank you all for helping turn what started as a birthday gift into something so much bigger than I ever imagined.
If you know someone I should contact or would be able to share this so I can reach as many people and places as I can to make this the most memorable special birthday surprise of my husbands dreams!

Super Secret Birthday Surprise Update

Hi everyone!
My husband has loved sports cards for years, but what has always meant the most to him isn’t the value of a card—it’s the stories behind it.
I’m building a one-of-a-kind keepsake that tells the story of sports through the people who make it special.
