Juniper Hill - Part 2 - anywhere online in the UK?

Stupidly, Channel 4 showed Part 1 of this the other night, and were scheduled to show Juniper Hill Part 2 the next night, but it was replaced with some other random show. The following night, they skipped to a later episode.

They never answer queries, and Hotel Hell is not on their catchup service at all.

Is an uncensored version available online anywhere, please? I see the pinned message refers to US links, but then US content is usually censored anyway, and while I've found Part 2, technically, the bleeps are so jarring that I can't be doing with it. It'd hurt my ears less if they just blanked any swear words. Thanks.

Edit: I've also looked on Youtube, but they're not whole episodes, just clips, or videos of 'influencers' waffling over it.

Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves 35th Anniversary

UPDATE: The Trainspotting 30th Anniversary only has ONE showing, and at the same time as the Premiere of the new Rise of the Footsoldier film! :(

Only just came across this by chance. Odd that it'd just be given two random screenings on a Wed and Thurs, rather than at the weekend when people would be more likely to come and watch it, and it might help if they give it a mention.

Who decides to put out these re-releases, and at a time when they'll go by unnoticed? And they wonder why they're poorly attended?

This would also be the first time that the 12-cert uncut version is shown in the cinema, as I understand it. The original version was badly censored, partly for the fight - and loss of hand - at the start, and Christian Slater's catapult reaction changes to "Fuck me, they made it!" (from 'blow me')

New Mira electric shower - get it replaced by Mira or a local plumber?

I was initially thinking about the latter, but now the former is looking more like the right answer.

Basically, it's the Mira Sport Max shower below, and it's £255 from B&Q, but £310 from Mira, or £420 if you include installation. That would mean that a local plumber would effectively need to charge less than £165 to be financially comparable, but if it takes up to a couple of hours to replace it, it's going to get close to that or go over, anyway.

And since Mira aren't charging a fortune by comparison, I'd have more comeback from them if something went wrong, than a local bloke if he botches it and then runs out. So, I think I'm going the Mira route, but wanted to ask here. Ta.

Are last-minute flight prices normally so crazy with surcharges?

Last year, I picked a fairly last minute (with about 2.5 days to go) trip to Vienna, mid-to-late July, for my first holiday abroad in years, and it all worked out rather well.

I try and do the same for mid-to-late August this year, was planning Zagreb*, but around a week out from the potential flight, and the only options are either a direct flight (yes, please) with Ryanair (no, thanks), or via a short stop in the middle, but paying anything extra from £100-250 extra.

Even more mad is a smaller surcharge of £10, but a 25-hour flight?!! Well, including a stop that runs for almost 22 hours. Does anyone REALLY take that option?

So, the questions are: Is it really down to late planning that for Zagreb, the options are bobbins, or even with additions, would Ryanair be worth the suffering? I don't like that it says the extra charges are "£10-60" - that's a wide random gap. Can't they be specific? Thanks.

BTW, the only reason I definitely didn't go for Zagreb this time, and basically it's now a bit late for the summer anyway, but it's been a weird couple of months for me, is that for the chosen week (which we're now in), it was going to be insanely hot, even getting up to 37C tomorrow, with a real feel of 39C. Vienna was mostly a decent 25-30C throughout. Maybe next summer, we'll be back to that sort of temp.

(*thanks to all those, a short while back, who helped me see that the Zagreb card isn't really worth it, and on now realising that there was a Vienna card also, I see that was crazy-priced if I'd have bought it, for what I would've used it for)

Is there a way to disable mission timers in Vice City Nextgen Edition?

I've tried Autocide numerous times, and given that the vehicles and bikes are terrible to drive, and the cops swarm on me, I just can't get through it. In the original Vice City, a motorbike can turn instantly! Thanks.

Expedia - You have to laugh.

When I joined them last year, over 12 months ago, I didn't realise there was £15.00 'gift', which then expired after 3 months, before I would have use it, as I booked a holiday after that had gone.

I only spotted that recently, asked Expedia via DM on X, and eventually, they added the £15.00 back as a 'Service Adjustment'.

Somehow, that's also triggered the addition of a £10.00 'welcome gift', which will only last a month, and so is likely to disappear before I use it. So, I've got the £15 I asked about, but won't have the £10 that I didn't ask for.

Crazy times 😂😂😂

How to pin a post in a subreddit? (on desktop)

I've created a post on a new subreddit, but whether I look at the three dots or the shield next to it, there is NO option for 'sticky' or 'pin post'. What is it and why make things difficult for us?

I'm on PC desktop.

Ashton Under Lyne: Can someone please tell me which screens are 1.85:1 and which are 2.39:1?

The website doesn't state this, and while I know which are which for Didsbury, I will go to Ashton at some point, and there are films such as Odyssey, Spider-Man and at Xmas, Avengers Doomsday which have issued 2.39:1 and 1.90:1 version, depending on the screen in question.

Spidey opened up to 1.90:1 was so much better than the tight cropping of 2.39:1, since it's much more a vertical film than it is wide. Thanks.

Bare feet in the cinema - NO!

I saw Goodfellas on the big screen for the first time, recently, since Cineworld, since have had a Scorsese/De Niro season.

And this starts with sandals, but moves on to bare feet.

Despite there being seats available to this right (so the following person could've left a space between us at least), it was around 30 mins in when the guy sat next to me put his right leg up on his left – sat the way men do, and revealed he had sandals on... but no socks! In the cinema! Ewww!

Normally, when someone’s being disruptive, I will say something, but this rather blindsided me. After a bit, the foot smell went away, but then a bit later, he cracked open some sort of crisp snack that stank as if Satan’s back passage had opened. And as the film went on, he removed his sandals, so while he tucked into those crisps, he’d periodically have a good scratch of the sole of his bare foot! And then back to the crisps that were going into his mouth!

Beyond gross!

How can a screen be Laser one week, and regular the next? (Trafford Centre)

For yesterday (same today), screen 12 (a 1.85:1 screen) states it now has a Laser projector for The Odyssey, but not for next Friday, for The End Of Oak Street.

I've also seen screen 16 fluctuate between being listed as Laser and not, but I'm just hoping that the screen 12 change finally makes them fix the fact that the picture has been overscanning for years, meaning it is effectively zoomed-in by approx 0.2:1 all around the screen. This is most easily spotted if a 2.39:1 film is on there, as the black bars look more like something between 2.1:1 and 2.2:1.

Yes, I've mentioned it before, and I've been told that technical people have been out to it, and think they've fixed it. They really shouldn't hire Mr Magoo for that, as nothing has ever changed.

Is the Zagreb Card really worth it?

I haven't been before, but after going away last year for a week to Vienna, for the first time in ages, it's a place I'm thinking about. I did consider Dubrovnik, but that's far more expensive, due to Game of Thrones being filmed there, as I gather.

However, since I enjoyed checking out various museums in Vienna, I was looking for something similar. I see the Zagreb card has a number of free museums and discounts for others, but then if I went for long enough to have one day on a walkabout to get used to the place, and another 6 full days in the town, that'd be two cards I'd buy.

But the price of a 3-day card is 48 Euros, and a lot of the museums seem to be less than 10 Euros anyway, so I'm not sure whether the value is there. Plus, a lot of them are shut on a Monday, for some reason.

Sure, it gets you free public transport into the bargain, but I like to just go for a wander and take in the random streets - seeing where it takes me, rather than get on a random bus that takes me away from the familiar, and I've no idea where it's going.

Thanks.

Bare feet in the cinema!!

UPDATE: HE TOOK THE SANDALS OFF DURING THE FILM!!

I thought I'd seen the worst with bare feet, that time with The Long Walk in screen 5 at Trafford Centre, when I relaxed into my seat, only to find that like some of those onscreen who'd given up walking, so had the woman behind me, who put her BARE FEET up on the seat next to my head!

But then recently, while I really enjoyed seeing Goodfellas on the big screen for the first time, recently - albeit at Cineworld, since they had a Scorsese/De Niro season, rather than just Taxi Driver.

Anyhoo, despite there being seats available to this right (so he could've left a space between us at least), it was around 30 mins in when the guy sat next to me put his right leg up on his left – sat the way men do, and revealed he had sandals on... but no socks! In the cinema! Ewww!

NOTE: Later, he took the sandals off, and that's why I'm talking about bare feet and the foot smell, but it was still smellable when he put his leg up with the feet particularly odourous.

Normally, when someone’s being disruptive, I will say something - like the above feet, but I'd forgotten about that until now, and it rather blindsided me. After a bit, the foot smell went away, but then a bit later, he cracked open some sort of crisp snack that stank as if Satan’s back passage had opened. And while he tucked into those, he’d periodically have a good scratch of the sole of his bare foot!

Beyond gross. Bare feet are NOT okay in the cinema!

Three+ "2 for £10" tickets work out slightly cheaper than expected, this week...

I wasn't expecting that much of a discount, though.

Does the Trafford Centre IMAX air-con work?

I ask, because prior to the work going on in that corridor, which seems to be taking ages, they'd propped the door open, same as they're doing with screen 3, and that's because the air-con is dead in there.

Propping the door open for 3 makes zero difference, and it feels like a sauna in there, so I can imagine that a packed IMAX screen will be even worse! I haven't been in that IMAX before they started propping the door open, just walked past to see other things.

Three+ killed off the £3 Cineworld Fri-Sun ticket voucher

While I expected that after a few years this might one day go up from £3 to £4, for example, because Vodafone have taken over Three, this is one of the vouchers that I'd use from time to time.

The replacement offer is "2 for £10", which is no good if you go on your own, and it's not like the occasional "2 for £6" vouchers they had before, where you could scan it for each of the two tickets, so could see 2 films in total, or just one for £3 anyway. So, that's 233% inflation.

My Cineworld is closer than any other cinema, and with it being a cheap £3, it was a no-brainer if there's only one film I wanted to see and with Cineworld showing something no-one else is, like most of the Scorsese/De Niro films, such as the forthcoming Goodfellas.

And sure, £5.99 isn't a huge amount for a legacy film like these ones, but when it was £3 before, it goes from an impulse purchase to less so - especially when I understand that the aircon is broken at Didsbury, so whichever screen you're in, it's a sauna! (and if certain screens are fine, please let me know which ones)

UPDATE: I see GiffGaff have an unlimited data plan offer for £14/month with an 18-month contract, which will be cheaper than Three. Think I'll be switching....
