I went fishing a couple days ago at Sherwood Island park in Connecticut, didn't land a thing. Was using the HiLo rig and some squid. I had maybe a couple taps on my rig but no hookups. What size hooks should I be using? Should I downsize my bait? Or is there a method of hooking them l'm missing? Im thinking of just visiting Liberty State Park next week instead. Feeling bummed since I drove an hour to catch nothing lmao

I'm 22m from NY. I've been interested in lifeguarding recently but I fear that I'm too old to pursue it. My family never told me to get a job until I was almost 19 and I resent them for it. I see lots of lifegaurds at my workplace who are teens so I scared that even if I do become a lifeguard I'd have no one around me age to be with (and be supervised by someone younger than me).
I also have mild self confidence issues with my body since I have stretch marks from drastic weight loss a couple years ago. Do lifeguards wear shirts at all? I also wear glasses so I'm not sure if I can be accommodated for that..
Aside from that, I'm a little lost on the first steps to becoming one. I haven't swam in a while so do I have to take swim lessons before I sign up for a course?

Hi! I'm looking to join my local IBEW (363). I was wondering what the application process looks like. How do they ask for proof of residency? How long do you wait for the application to be reviewed? Also, can you apply at 22? I feel like I'm starting a little later than other ppl. I appreciate your advice. Thanks!
