To explain, I'm in r/DeathBattleMatchups and found out that my favorite matchup between the Turn A Gundam, and the Taranis (Fuga: Melodies of Steel) has actually inspired a few people, to check out both series.

This gives me joy, as Turn A is like my favorite Gundam show and having people actually check it out and even coming out of it fans is so cool. Plus it also introduced people to Fuga (cool game series) and the rest of the Little Tail Bronx games (so underrated).

I know powerscaling is looked down upon these parts, but this isn't about the powerscaling, plus I like this matchup for reasons other than dumb powerscaling considering the nicheness of the MU in question.

I just wanted to share how Gundam can spread even in places you don't expect. Also if you're wondering Gundam isn't that popular of a subject in DBM and the only super popular matchup I can recall is between Lelouch from Code Geass and Char Aznable which checks out.

Matchup in question: Turn A Gundam VS Taranis (Fuga: Melodies of Steel)

Rules:

This is specifically Island so no stuff from later seasons or spinoffs.

Let's just say that the character in regardless of the uneven contestant lineup.

The protagonist can be split into various versions or incarnations if needed. (EX: 0079 Amuro vs 0093 Amuro, or Season 1 Setsuna vs EOS Setsuna).

Obviously, no Mobile Suits. (That would be funny though).

No outside equipment or weapons, but inherent abilities are fine. (So no explosives or guns, but Newtype powers and martial arts skills are fine).

No runbacks, so no situations where the character can return as a contestant.

Finally, character in question is just part of the TDI world, so no character is basically Isekai'ed typestuff.
