I’ve come across a listing for an "Original 1964 Stereo Pressing" of Introducing... The Beatles currently being sold for 600€. After looking at the details, it is clearly a counterfeit, and I wanted to warn anyone here who might be considering it. If you are looking at this listing, please be aware of these major red flags: Label Layout: The artist name ("The Beatles") is printed under the spindle hole. On genuine Vee-Jay pressings, this is a major indicator of a modern bootleg/counterfeit. Back Cover Print Quality: There is significant ink dropout/missing print on the word "HONEY." The quality of the rear slick is consistent with mass-produced fakes rather than original 1964 paper stock. The Matrix Numbers: The seller is citing matrix numbers that are commonly found on mid-2000s bootlegs. I’m posting this as a heads-up because the seller is charging a "collector premium" (600€) for a record that is worth a fraction of that as a novelty item. Always check your matrix numbers and label font variants before dropping that kind of money on a Vee-Jay record. It’s a minefield out there!
