Hi all, I've made some posts before showing my "minimalistic" setup in my student room, so I thought I'd show the fruits of my labour!

They're doing well, aside from the fact that the snack peppers are not really snack peppering. The last 3 varieties come from Ile de Reunion, an island next to madagascar!

The moustache turned out pretty darn well, and my gf approves of both moustache and beard! My favs are #2 and #6, but I think that I'll gravitate towards a proper moustache with a short beard.

#2 is 4 days after shaving clean, and #3 was some fun I had during shaving clean.

Red & yellow are stems, green = leaves.

The main trunk looks like a lil dude with 1 eye to me (last pic), and I liked the idea of giving him stems as "arms" holding bushes at the ends—sorta like someone holding a ∞ shaped balancing scale.

Was curious if cutting the top back to the blue line could roughly allow my idea, and if it would be fine for the plant.

Hiya, here's a late update to my post from 3 months ago. Last picture in this post is of said previous one.

I let the Aji Amarillo cutting's roots grow much bigger, but have also been fighting a seemingly endless war against aphids and thrips. I finally ended that about 2 weeks ago, after which I planted the cutting in soil.

It's been responding amazingly, and has pushed out a bunch of new growth! I've been able to remove all old, pest-damaged leaves as well.

Update on the droopy Aji Amarillo after uppotting. I still plan on doing some big prunes, but I'll let the cut roots settle first

I am still in awe with how beautiful they turned out. The leather was in an amazingly good condition for being over 80 years old!

Once the outsoles were off, we found out a previous cobbler had ruined the welt and midsoles with a previous resole, so those had to be replaced entirely.

For any boot lovers in the Netherlands: I cannot recommend Schoenmakerij "Wim" enough. They were very excited to fix these boots and delivered impeccable work.

I'll soon upload a video of them using their old machine to stitch the soles together!

Hiya, did I mess up?

It was a warm day (30C/86F)so it may have been too hot, but I don't trust it. The soil is still fully moist from the uppotting.

I've noticed this pest(?) lingering around my plants the last few days. I feel like it is predatory, but I just don't know for sure.

Anyone have a clue? Google lens also couldnt tell me if it eats my plants/peppers

Here's a flower I plucked off my Purple UFO. Not only a big cluster of aphids, but also a banded thrip on the calyx.

The advice is usually to check the (underside of) leaves, especially for aphids. I've found that they also love going on the flower buds. Maybe this depends per variety of aphids, not sure.

I usually check the flowers first when doing a pest-check, as they offer more contrast against aphids than the leaves do :)

Hi all!

I'm making a cushion sleeve for a friend, based on the cover of the first Dutch translation of The Hobbit. The plan is to cut the shapes from felt, stitch them to the pink fabric along the felt's edges, and then sew the cushion sleeve.

I am unsure on whether to make the details (facial features, belts, bilbo's mighty leg-hairs) out of felt, or if I should zig-zag embroid them.

The total cushion will be about A3 size (300x420mm / 12x16.5in), and the second pic (in cm) shows size of details.

Would love to hear some ideas :)

Am having a birthday dinner with some friends. It's quite warm out, so these linnen pants and breezy button-down seemed nice to me.

I have chukka's as well, but prefer the boots as they are very comfortable. Am not sure if they look too "heavy" for this outfit.

Would love to hear some thoughts!

I got these Piment Cabri (pepper) seeds as a gift from a friend from Île de la Réunion (island close to Madagascar), and this was the only surviving seedling.

We are having very harsh sun here in the NL (8a), so I had already hardened it off some before moving it out yesterday. Today I found it in this state already :/

The other plants are mostly fine, so this was unexpected. I moved it to shadow already, but is it still salvadgeable?

A friend of mine asked me to help place padding inside her bra. I don't have experience with this, so I was wondering which seam would be best to open up.

Any other advice which I should keep in mind is also appreciated, as I am a dude and therefore not knowledgeable on bras at all
