Eclipse Eight can apply the property of light to physical mass inside of its mist field.
He can reflect the pen off the deck, he can transmit himself through the floor. He can scatter the light in all directions away from him to make himself invisible.
Now, how can this be used. Well imagine you're hiding behind a wall, Eclipse can throw something and have it pass through the wall without breaking it and then it would go through you physically and tear through you.
A truly horrifying ability.
Being able to overlap mass and control the direction of mass itself. The diffraction could even create illusions, absorption can make attacks less effective.

I did two separate posts for beauty of male and female characters, I went through all the comments and I have the final results of who was voted for the most.
The most beautiful couple ever would be DIO and Lisa Lisa according to all of you. If they had kids they would produce the most beautiful family in the entire world.
I asked the female version of this question the other day and I was surprised with the variety of answers, so I'd like to see what people say here. My personal pick is part 6 DIO.
I did some testing with supers and learned that for some reason Fist of Havoc grants far far more ammo generation progress than every other super in the game.
Every 2 kills you get gives you 90% of your special meter and 60% of your heavy.
And that's without Ammo Finder mods.
I don't know why it's like that, but it is. So if y'all ever wanna know why you would ever use the super that's a reason.
So, let me explain my full understanding of mechanisms in part 9.
Mechanisms are the physical manifestation of societal expectations and hierarchies that are placed upon us by those with more power over others.
The only way to evade these mechanisms is to follow the same path of those who have placed the systems in place, and once you're above the mechanism you can break them away for others to not have to abide by them.
In Steel Ball Run, Valentine brings up the idea of choosing the first napkin, and the first person to choose the napkin sets the expectation for others to follow. This is the mechanism being developed by the person who has the first step in control.
In Jojolion, the rock humans are trying to use the rokaka fruit trade to flip the societal hierarchy and place Rock Humans above regular humans. They are trying to break the mechanism that has been set in place by their counterparts over the years.
Now in Part 9, we see the concept of Mechanisms relating to societal injustices and abuse of power. Mechanisms that allow those in power to remain above punishment, while being able to punish those that are forced to abide by them.
This entire concept is related to the spin as well, as spin is the ability to control life through motion and golden ratio. Something that can be found in almost everything in nature.
Life is all about cycles, circle of life, ecosystems and expectations. Spin allows humanity to literally break these Mechanisms and control the mechanism of life itself by imposing their own system on what has been placed beforehand.
Spin is the ultimate tool to break past mechanisms in this universe.
Okay, so we all know Araki cooks up really thematically fitting deaths and punishments. And I think I've thought up the perfect death for his character.
Howler would have Lulu's loyalty because of her desperation for a family. And he'll use that to his benefit and exploit it.
However, I believe Howler had Lulu's mother killed. And he's the reason she's essentially been an orphan for so long.
Lulu would find this out before the end of the part, and once she learns this information, she'll go into one of her extreme rages.
Howler will suddenly collapse to the ground, and we'll realize that Lulu's stand is killing him. The entire group will watch Howler die from Bag's Grooves while Howler literally begs for his life and begs for Lulu to stop or for the group to stop Lulu.
I think this would fit him because Howler always believes he can just get away with everything, but his own family wouldn't let him get away with such an act.
And him begging on the ground for his life while others watch would be a thematic karmic justice almost, because Howler always believed he was above everyone else and untouchable, but now he's below everyone and unable to do anything to the others.
The last time we saw someone tasked with telling the members of a group something that isn't a main cast member he blew his head off after doing his job.
I think Doctor Roberts is going to do the same out of genuine fear of someone coming after him constantly and not being able to live with that stress after Jodio roped him into the game.
Who knows when we'll see him next actually but we know he's returning 7 chapters into Act 2.
7 whole months before we got confirmation he's coming back.
But when Part 9 gets animated, charming Man will only be gone for like 2-4 episodes before coming back.
Okay, so I am 100% on the board that Howler's stand allows him to reflect and refract physical things fully. Not just light, but actually physical mediums.
With this idea he could overlap physical items inside of other things with mass. Such as putting the pen inside the deck of the boat.
However if he can do this, he could do it with himself. If Eclipse Eight is part of Howler then Eclipse Eight can do the same thing.
And what is Eclipse Eight doing when we first see it ever?
That's right, it's halfway in the ground, refracting its body into the ground.
Alright y'all, I've already explained my theory on Eclipse Eight's stand ability. But I know how to really describe this now because of this video.
Howler's stand allows him to reflect and refract things inside his mist, even actually physical objects.
He reflects the pen off the ground into the soldiers neck, however whenever something reflects off of something there is also a refraction that occurs.
Because the pen is an actual physical item Howler refracts the pen into the soldiers neck and refracts the pen over to the documents to sign them.
And if you're wondering how he then leaves, he uses the mist to reflect the light around him, preventing any light from reaching him and he is then invisible.
I think Dr. Caldera from Better Call Saul inspired Doctor Roberts character. He often was seen in the show patching up cartel members and handling illegal businesses behind his actual job.
What really makes me think its him is his desire to get out of the crime life especially the drug and violence type of crimes coming in for medical assistance.
As Doctor Roberts is desperate to stay out of the actual criminal world and wants to operate as a normal person with a normal job. Only taking Meryl's money because it benefits him.
Something about that dialogue stood out to me. Now I know why.
