"Yeh Azadi Jhoothi Hai": Three Moments the CPI went against the Indian National Mainstream

Three times before India had even settled into its own independence, the Communist Party of India chose ideology over the country it claimed to represent. In August 1942, as the Congress called for "Do or Die" and Gandhi launched the Quit India Movement, the CPI sat it out not out of principle, but on orders. Hitler's invasion of the USSR in June 1941 had flipped Moscow's line overnight: the "imperialist war" was suddenly a "people's war," and the CPI's Polit Bureau fell in step, resolving in December 1941 to back the very British war effort that was still ruling India by force. While the rest of the country's leadership went to jail for demanding freedom, the CPI was rewarded with legal status and freedom to operate the direct result of standing down while others stood up.

Independence in 1947 didn't change the pattern. Rather than accept that India had won its freedom, the CPI's leadership declared it fake "Ye Azaadi Jhooti Hai" because it hadn't arrived through the armed revolution their ideology demanded. That posture wasn't rhetorical. From 1948 to 1951, the party ran an actual guerrilla war against the Indian Army in Telangana, setting up a breakaway "Gram Rajyam" administration across nearly 4,000 villages in open defiance of the state it refused to recognize. It took years of military pressure before the party abandoned the insurgency and turned, reluctantly, to the ballot box.

By 1962, the pattern repeated with China instead of Britain. As Chinese troops crossed into Indian territory, a faction of the undivided CPI leaned toward Beijing rather than New Delhi. The clearest measure of how far that went played out inside a jail cell in Thiruvananthapuram, where Kerala communist V.S. Achuthanandan tried to organize blood donation for wounded Indian soldiers a basic act of solidarity with his own country under attack. His own party called it "anti-party" and "state-appeasing," and punished him for it: demoted from the Central Committee and banished to the branch level for a year, simply for trying to help Indian troops while Indian soldiers were dying at the border. It's hard to find a cleaner illustration of a party choosing doctrine over the nation.

Feeling demotivated and down because I couldn't get job after graduation and job market is really tuff

So guys I graduated this may , I am sitting for placements from last may and I didn't get placed in college and off campus too. It's really frustrating for me now from this may I travelled to Bangalore, chennai and coimbatore for interviews and did t get selected every time I go to these cities and see those offices and the need to go to office work is killing me. What am I doing simply sitting in house applying for jobs while everyone works in office.

I got an unpaid internship recently that to its work from home. it's a very small startup and they are not giving that much work to , and I started applying for govt jobs too but I couldn't prepare properly for it to and i fumble it. I wrote afcat , sebi and gate.

I wanted to do comptia security plus certification i didn't complete that preparation to , it's kind of frustrating that i couldn't pick one path and go 100% in it. I am scared that I will be trapped in this govt exam trap or the certification trap.

I feel like a loser without a job offer half of my friends got placed in very good companies for above 10lpa and half got 3-4 lpa in service based companies and I am here doing nothing. I cant even cry in my home there is no personal space for that in my home 😭.

For people saying reddit is better than other social medias

People use to fat shame others in reddit. Reddit retards falsely blamed an Indian origin guy for Boston booming who was a missing person btw.

Reddit is the majority left wing like 99% of mods have left wing ideas even though i myself lean left I don't think 99% mods should be left leaning.

Reddit retards falsely accused a youtuber who used to save foxes for abusing the foxes who went into depression and died because of that.

In the starting you may thinking reddit is better than other apps but it's actually the same shit like another app.

Tahir Hussain, four others convicted in IB staff Ankit Sharma murder case

A Delhi court on Monday (July 13, 2026) convicted former Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) councillor Tahir Hussain and four others for the murder of Intelligence Bureau (IB) staffer Ankit Sharma during the 2020 north-east Delhi riots.

Additional Sessions Judge Praveen Singh of the Karkardooma courts delivered the verdict in an open court. The detailed order was awaited till the time of the filing of this report.

Hussain was convicted for murder, kidnapping with intent to confine, rioting with deadly weapons, unlawful assembly, and promoting enmity between different groups, among other serious charges. He was, however, acquitted on charges of hatching a criminal conspiracy and abetment of mutiny.

The court also convicted Javed, Anas, Nazim, and Kasim for the crime, while acquitting six other accused persons who had been facing trial in the case.

Of the accused, only Hussain, Nazim and Kasim were in judicial custody. The remaining accused were granted bail during the course of the proceedings.

Hussain’s plea for bail was rejected by the Delhi High Court in September 2025.

Meanwhile, the AAP pointed out that Hussain contested the 2025 Delhi Assembly election as an All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) candidate. “He contested from Mustafabad, a Muslim-majority constituency, where his candidature split the Muslim vote and ultimately helped the BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) candidate win the seat,” the AAP said in a statement.

“Within hours of an FIR (First Information Report) being registered against Tahir Hussain in the 2020 Delhi riots case, the AAP suspended him from the party’s primary membership on February 27, 2020. Since then, he has had no association with AAP,” the party said.

The case stems from an FIR registered at the Dayalpur police station on a complaint filed by the deceased’s father, Ravinder Kumar. In his complaint, Mr. Kumar said that his son had returned home from work on February 25, 2020 but stepped out again on some work. When he failed to return, the family launched a search, and was later informed that he had been killed. His body was subsequently recovered from a drain near a mosque in the Chand Bagh Pulia area. The post-mortem examination recorded 51 ante-mortem injuries caused by sharp-edged weapons and blunt force trauma. Mr. Kumar accused Hussain and others for the crime. On March 24, 2023 the trial court framed charges against the accused.

The court is expected to hear the parties on the quantum of sentence on a later date.

Rate my 4 years of investment journey in college as college student

I usually use to check whether the profit margin increased in the recent quarters and whether the stock price increased in recent times and invest. And i look at other fundamentals like people ratio , roe and roce.

Is there anything wrong with what I do ?
