With great problems comes great measures

The left side passenger window somehow broke and wont get up. All the other windows work fine except this one which doesn’t give any response.

Me and my Grandpa came off with this solution but we know it’s only temporary. I was wondering if anyone here got similar issues on their cars (mine is a 2015 Rogue SL). At worst I’ll have to spend a couple bucks getting it fixed at a Nissan dealership. If anyone got an answer please let me know

Got flash banged buying groceries

Went into the small co-op I do most of my grocery shopping and lo and behold I had to a double take when I saw this sitting in the clearance section. I have no idea why it’s even there, this is in a tiny town on the Oregon Coast with a low Mormon population.

Anybody have any good excuses?

Missionaries randomly texted me yesterday wanting me to join them in a lesson because they were giving one in my area. Naturally I said no because I’ll have no part in bringing more victims into this cult, but now they want to meet with me in person. I’m PIMO right now in the same ward as my parents (dad is also in bishopric) so I can’t exactly tell them to fuck off. Any ideas?

ELI5: 1998 Ford Escort unibody rust—failed NYS inspection. Fixable or a total loss?

The first pic is by the right front wheel.

Second is in the left rear of the car

Inspection mechanic put it up on a lift, saw these, and didn't continue with the inspection, saying it would fail. He suggested finding a fabrication shop, but didn't offer any specific ones. I've read that this might not be fixable, or very costly, and even dangerous to drive as it is.

Overheating at idle

last week my car started overheating out of nowhere in a drive thru and i noticed it when i seen smoking coming from under my hood. i parked, popped the hood, the coolant reservoir had a hole in it and was shooting coolant from the top as seen in the video. i popped the radiator cap when it cooled a bit, and it was empty. i filled it, and went home.

fast forward bought and installed a new coolant reservoir, test drove it and it overheated again. i went back home, and i seen videos on bleeding the system so i attempted a few times.

the first few times, the car would just overheat and coolant would just start aggressively bursting out of the radiator neck as im trying to bleed it. tried again eventually, and it went smoove it was bubbles popping slowly and i let the car sit with the heat on max until the bubbles stopped.

thought it was the end of it, but the car still overheats especially at idle. i’m pretty sure the fans are working, im getting mixed impressions that it could be the radiator, thermostat, or head gasket.

to add on when the car gets hot the coolant reservoir starts bubbling inside aggressively, also coolant goes missing from the reservoir at times now. what does it sound like? what likely could’ve caused my car to start overheating in the first place?

edit: i have codes p0430 and p1217

What should I have looked at on my car

2008 Nissan Altima SE. Automatic Transmission. 205,000 Miles.

Tires keep looking like this and blowing out. Some friends suggest it's an alignment issue. Others said they checked my alignment and it's good. Driver's side rear looks like the car is almost sitting on the tire. Barely a gap. Passenger side has a normal look and eats tires also. This was the passenger rear tire. I've just bought this car 4 months ago and changed 6 tires on it already just on the back alone (x5) and front driver (x1)

Sister accidentally put washer fluid into her coolant reservoir. How bad is this?

2026 Honda CRV.

Apparently she poured about 1-2 cups into the coolant reservoir. This was 2 months ago and she has been driving as normal.

I know very little about cars, but suggested she go to a mechanic. She doesn’t want to.

Does she need to? Or is it no big deal?
