Vicious troll here

There is a vicious troll here who mocks anybody who posts and calls them scammers, and is obsessed with Wetherspoons. I would like to ask the admins to remove it because it makes it very hard for people in distress to post here I certainly never will until it goes. I know we should ignore such pathetic creepy individuals, but it would be better if it was blocked

English Civil War soldier in the lane

I feel sorry for the Roundhead* Alison sees in the lane when she is with Lucy. He has been there for the best part of 400 years and finally someone sees him! And ignores him!

*I am aware the two sides looked pretty much the same - I am classing him as a Roundhead for the sake of brevity.

Another loose dog

Another creepy old man in the old people's place where I live has a loose dog that comes barking up at me. He says it only wants to say hello. I said, "I don't want to say hello. keep it on a lead." Old creep was all offended about that. Yeah you took me by surprise this time creep, but next time I will have my air horn and my camera ready. In this country that's all we're allowed to do to these nuisances.

Apology to the trans woman I saw in Waterstones today

I am disabled. You were in the disabled toilet. It wasn't locked and I started to open it. You called out and asked me not to.

When you came out you looked abled to me, and I rolled my eyes.

I forgot that invisible disabilities exist. And I forgot that trans people now need to find unisex toilets due to transphobia.

I am extremely sorry.

If it helps, I have learned my lesson.

Hedgehog nesting site advice needed

My cat has a kennel with straw in as an outdoor shelter (she likes to sleep outside sometimes). She hasn't been in this year. The other night I saw a hedgehog in there. I had previously seen the straw had been disturbed (cat would just flatten it down).

The kennel has a large opening. Online advice was to block it with plant pots. Also the garden is south facing and gets very hot. It doesn't seem like a good place for a hedgehog. I won't be disturbing it of course.

I keep fresh water out there for the cat.

Any advice? Thank you.

Cold baked potatoes

The branch near me doesn't seem to know that baked potatoes should be hot all the way through, not just around the skin. So they serve what it's basically a cold baked potato, which is revolting. My feeling is they heat it for as long as it would take to melt cheese on a sub, which just isn't long enough. The first time they did it I accepted it being reheated. The second time I just asked for a refund and I won't be back. Other branches have done it fine, by the way.

Just found a dead crow

No photo. Lying on their back. I looked it up online and it said that means it was either a medical issue like a heart attack or It flew into something and broke its neck. There are other crows about 50 yards away, only a couple of them, and a seagull on the roof, dammit I reported the death to the appropriate authority here in England, but they don't take bodies away. Going to go out after dark and bin the body properly, provided the seagull has left them alone. Poor crow.

Door that used to lead to a chair lift in Douglas, Isle of Man

This door used to lead to a chair lift in Douglas, Isle of Man.

The holiday camp was up a steep road, but a sort of conveyor belt of chairs took people there. It closed long ago, and then the holiday camp was demolished. My family went there when I was a child. Sorry about using Google Earth, but I am far away now.

Housing association keeps giving UC wrong rent amount

I am on UC and rent from a housing association. Earlier this year they added a service charge for communal furniture in the residents' centre here.

When UC ask my housing association, the HA assumes the extra furniture amount is something personal to me, and DEDUCTS it from my rent figure.

This has happened twice. I was told last time they had sorted it out, but they haven't.

I made a formal complaint and I rang my HA (more promises).

Any advice? UC say the rent payment will be stopped if the HA won't provide the same figure that I do.

Thank you.

My mind went blank and it was lovely.

I was trying to say something, and my mind went blank. I pictured it as a large, sunny, empty room, high up. It was peaceful and blissful. Then I remembered.

Just another annoyance.

Paws Centre

Years ago, I volunteered for the RSPCA Paws Centre in Barrack Street. Some time after I stopped, I was amazed to find it had closed - a brand new purpose built centre! I googled it but couldn't find anything. Anyone know what happened?

Vertigo flare due to the weather

I am in the UK, where the weather is extremely hot - over 30C, which is around 90F, very rare here. I suddenly got bad vertigo - just at the time when the barometric pressure changed. I was wobbling like a new-born foal, lol.

Cat hates cone

She came in with a head wound yesterday. Vet said she has to wear a cone for 2 weeks and stay indoors (which she also hates). She is getting stitches tomorrow. She can't have one of those soft collar things because the main problem is her scratching the wound with her back leg (she has made it worse by doing that). Any advice?

Severe vertigo attack

Just a vent... I was in bed and my internet white noise went off (modem glitch). So I leaned and looked under the bed for the CD player. Moved at normal speed and didn't think. Oh, the vertigo! So nauseous.
