This is my half-ass attempt at canopy management this year. And before anybody tells me to defoliate it, I have been. She's just a bushy girl.

The haunted plant

I had this cannabis plant that's kind of famous in Grower circles. Mostly because it was massive and lived such a long time.

When it was small, it was galloping around in the wind. I coined it "Galloping Gertie" .

My friend tells me that his ailing Grandma's name is Gertrude. Some people called her Gertie.

As the weeks went on, his grandmother passed. I sent my condolences and said we will grow the plant in her honor. Gertrude was locked in.

As it started getting ridiculously big, I said she was haunting the plant in the best way possible. People on reddit were even invested in the saga.

(My friend was on shrooms when I said that. He started trippin balls. Sorry buddy.)

It went onto live a full year. She gave and gave and gave. She even kept a few branches alive well into December so that my friend could come and harvest them himself.

RIP Gertie(s)

Pine Tar Kush x ?? Puppy for scale.

Finally flowering. 🙏

Also this is a cross with something else. Bubba or Triangle Kush. I can't remember. Showing a bit of ntox but I'm not worried about it. She will start eating herself up in no time.

Timing is everything

All of these plants are about the same age. But the smaller one to the left was kept in a pot for about a month longer than it's siblings.

Something to keep in mind if you're wondering why yours aren't very big. Also something to keep in mind if you don't want them to get very big.

I should have done that to the one that's in the back(hindsight). It's 7 ft tall and not even flowering yet. Send help plz.

Stop fiddling with your plants. Start inspecting them.

Caterpillar eggs. Future budrot. Grab yourself a pair of magnifying glasses and some tape and start checking.

When you finish, start over.

If you're at this point and you see this, relax. It's normal.

She's eating herself up. As she should. As they do. Middle age comes on quick.

Death becomes her.

My friend said it was a gigantic puffball

Strain is Pine Tar crossed with something. Bubba maybe? Might be triangle kush. Idk. I forget. I have lots of crosses and never pay much attention to who the dads are.

As per the usual I've tried to keep it from getting to tall but it breached containment. She's going to the moon.

None of my others are flowering. She's off to the races.

I don't know the strain. Smells like fresh cut pineapple. I had posted about this one a few weeks ago saying I thought it was trash. I was WRONG. It's sticky and stinky. I'm guessing it will have an early finish.

These two clones are doing amazingly well in this tiny pot.

First off. I know that my yield will be 2 or 3 marijuanas. I'm not concerned. The mom is growing in my yard. This is just for funsies.

Domed and rooted them outside in the shade. They've been in this pot for two-ish months now. Using megacrop. Watering twice a day. Strain is Sunset Sherbet.

"That's easy, I can do it!"

Well anyway. I've never made a fancy cake before. Mistakes were made. And yes that's all buttercream.

The recipe was hobbled together.

Basic vanilla cake with a key lime juice infusion.

Keylime curd filling. It broke through the frosting dam and caused the cake to lean.

Crumb coated with a store-bought lemon frosting. "Decorated" with lemon zested buttercream frosting.

Did I mention that I've never made a fancy cake before?

I haven't cut into it yet. I did taste all of the individual elements and it was delicious. So there's that.

Also it took 3 days. wtf

She's beautiful but she sucks. Here's (probably) why.

Genetics! It's white label trash.

The neighboring plants aren't flowering yet and they're stinking up the whole place. They came from a reputable breeder.

This one IS flowering and has no discernible fragrance. That's not to say it won't develop later on, but I've seen this film before.

Told myself I wouldn't do it again. And here I am. I'm seriously considering cutting it down.
