3 years of unexplained symptoms and now might have some type of dysautonomia.

It all started in may of 2023, i had just turned 19 and got a job in July of 2022, I was making money and working my ass off. Then around may of 2023 I was lifting some heavy buckets at work, and a week later I started to feel pressure in my abdomen radiating between my left rib and belly button. I switched job positions around July of 2023, and felt better doing less heavy lifting.

Around couple months pass and I start to get the same pressure feeling in the same spot, I went to the doctor and did an ultrasound plus a ct scan with contrast. Both test came back normal, except for a slightly enlarged spleen, the doctor told me it was nothing to worry about and I just moved on. The pressure soon turned into pain when lifting and by July of 2025 I got fired because of it.

After I got fired I started drinking a lot and just stayed in gaming. Around November of 2025 after thanksgiving had an episode that lead me to the hospital. They told me it was alcohol withdrawal and sent me home, I was never an everyday drinker and just started drinking at 21. So I stopped drinking but the symptoms persisted, I went another 4 times to the er because of the panic attack like symptoms and they diagnosed me with anxiety. I went to my doctor and he sent me to a cardiologist, I did an echocardiogram and a couple of EKGs but both came back normal, this was around February of 2026.

I got sent to a psychiatrist and therapist, and I explained to them that these symptoms were there when my anxiety wasn’t. My psychiatrist told me that it sounded like pots, I told my cardiologist to test me but he said it wasn’t necessary and told me to keep going to my therapist appointments. Around may of 2026 the stomach pain started happening more frequently and had more new symptoms.

Like, bloating in upper left abdomen, food coming back up after eating, excessive burping after meals, chronic constipation, and a bunch of cardiac /dysautonomia symptoms. I’ll be seeing a GI specialist in October to do some tests, just wondering if anyone experienced the same thing and sorry for the long post.

Scared of dropping dead.

Since January I’ve been experiencing dysautonomia/pots symptoms, I first thought it was just panic attacks because the high HR was something new to me and thought I was gonna die. I went to the hospital a bunch of times because of it and was sent home, then I saw a cardiologist but my echo, and 1 week heart monitor came back normal. My cardiologist told me it was due to anxiety and stress, so I went and saw a psychiatrist/therapist. Symptoms still persist and my GI issues are getting worse day by day. I got this feeling like my heart is being squeezed when standing, walking or when I’m doing anything physical. My HR goes up easily, I’ll be brooming and my HR will be in the 130-140 range, I can’t squat for long because when I stand up my heart beats real hard and makes me feel weak. I used to be active, I had a job from 6am to 3pm and felt really strong, then got fired and stayed home for about 5 months then symptoms started. These are the tests I’ve done: 8 X rays, 13 EKGs, bunch of blood work, echocardiogram, 1 week heart monitor, and a stress test but won’t get results till September. All normal. I still get chest discomfort 24/7, exercise intolerance, lightheaded upon standing, I can feel my heart beats 24/7 especially while in bed, and bunch of dysautonomia/pots symptoms. Idk what else to do, I can’t find any help, and can’t live in peace feeling like this all of the time and not knowing what it is.

Scared it’s cancer!

I’ve been suffering from GI issues since 2023, 2 years before my dysautonomia/pots symptoms started. Ive been dealing with chronic constipation for a couple of months now. I also bloated and burp a lot after I eat, and get this sharp pain in my upper left abdomen that comes n goes, sometimes radiates to my back. I seen a cardiologist for my dysautonomia/pots symptoms but he wasn’t too helpful and told me it was anxiety and stress that was causing all of my symptoms. My upper left abdomen feels a little tender compared to the right side of my abdomen. I’ll be seeing a GI specialist in October.

Does anyone know how long does someone have to vape to get withdrawals?

I’ve been vaping of and on for 3 months now but I’m gonna quit soon before it gets out of hand. Today I’ve been vaping throughout the day and don’t want to get addicted. My family smokes and I’ve seen them try to quit but could never do it, I don’t wanna end up like them. When I first started, I was only vaping/smoking when I would get drunk, then I would randomly use it on some days. It’s been about 3 months and a half since I started. Will quitting be hard? Low-key scared to get withdrawals.

23 yrs old, 200lbs, 5foot 11, no medical history, mother has diabetes, I drink and only smoke when I drink, and currently dealing with some stomach issues

Since 2023 I was having stomach pressure when lifting and sharp pains in my upper left abdomen. I went to the doctor and he suspected a hernia so we did an ultrasound and ct. The only thing that was found was a slightly enlarged spleen. He told me not worry about it and I moved on. The pressure was around my belly button more towards the top and never went away. In 2025 I got fired and started drinking 3 times a week, heavy on the weekends. Around November of 2025 I started to get what doctors called panic attacks, my symptoms matched dysautonomia/pots, so I went and seen a cardiologist. Echo, EKGs, and 1 week heart monitor came back normal. So I started to see a psychiatrist and therapist because they were blaming it on anxiety. After my anxiety went away my symptoms started to get worse. I recently went to the hospital and got a ct with contrast but everything came back normal. I’m still experiencing the sharp pains in my upper left abdomen, I’ve been dealing with chronic constipation since may, bloating, and bunch of burping after meals. The last two times I drank alcohol, I was nauseous after drinking 6 12oz beers and had to make myself throw up. So no more alcohol for me. Just feel lost I’m having so many problems with my body but all tests come back normal. I’m waiting to see a GI specialist but that’s not till October, any idea what can be causing all of this?

How are you guys managing to work a physical job(blue collar work)?

I wanna work but all the jobs I’ve done were nothing but blue collar type of jobs. I grew up with pretty bad social anxiety and now ever since I started experiencing Dysautonomia/pots symptoms my social anxiety got 100 times worse. When I go into public or go somewhere where I have to talk with someone my HR goes crazy and symptoms are so bad. So I can’t get an office job or desk job because of it. All of the easy jobs require good communication skills, and good socializing. Now that I can’t work any hard jobs, my options are very very limited. Idk what to do anymore but I have to start working because bills are piling up and no doctor believes my symptoms and blame anxiety.

Does anyone here deal with really bad stomach problems?

I’ve been dealing with bloating, chronic constipation, burp a ton after a meal, acid reflux and sharp pain in upper left abdomen for a long time now. The pain started around 2023 and the chronic constipation started almost 4 months ago. I’ve done 2 ct scan with contrast and an ultrasound but other than a slightly enlarged spleen, nothing was found. I’m seeing a gastroenterologist in October but nothing seems to help with constipation. Also, I’ve been experiencing really bad fatigue and this weird feeling like if I was drunk.

I’m lost idk what’s going on with my body. I get sharp pain in my left upper abdomen, under my ribs with bloating and constipation

23 male, I’ve had this pain since may of 2023 at work but it started as stomach pressure when lifting. My doctor suspected a hernia so I got an ultrasound and ct with contrast but nothing was found except for a slightly enlarged spleen. I’ve seen a couple of doctors but none of them sent me to a gastroenterologist. I went on with my life, then the pain started coming in as a sharp pain under my left rib area. I got fired because of it in July of 2025, I wasn’t able to lift anymore because it’ll cause pain. After I got fired started to drink a lot but didn’t smoke at the time, then around November I started to get symptoms of dysautonomia/pots. I went to the doctor again and he sent me to a cardiologist because I told them that my HR would shoot up if I tried to do anything physical. My cardiologist did an echocardiogram, ekg, and 1 week heart monitor but told me my heart was healthy. About 2 months ago I started to get really bad constipation. The only way I can have a bowel movement is if I drink prune juice but most of it is diarrhea.

I went to the er and told them about the pain in my upper abdomen and the chronic constipation. They did a ct scan with contrast of the abdomen and pelvic area plus blood work but everything came back normal. 2 weeks ago I noticed bloating where I get the pain at, and I can feel the pain radiates to the back sometimes and gets worse after I eat or sit in a certain position.

After I eat everything gets worse, I burp a lot, acid reflux, bloating, upper left abdomen pain, HR goes up to 110-130 standing, and just feel awful in general. I finally got a referral after three years of complaining but I’m still waiting on the call.

Just tried zyns for the first time and had a mini panic attack

I was having some chest discomfort when I would inhale my vape (I’m also new to smoking) so decided to try zyn because I heard it’s better than vaping. I bought a 3mg one and put one in, 5 minutes of having it in I didn’t feel anything other than a burning sensation. So my dumbass decided to put another one in and walked in my house, once I laid down I was starting to feel the effect. At this point I had 2 in for about 15-20 minutes. Out of nowhere my heart started going up too high and I started to feel nauseous, dizzy and this feeling like I was gonna die. I checked my BP and had it at 155/92 with a heart rate of 115, I searched it up and heard that I can get nicotine overdose by putting in 2 at a time. I spat both of them out but the effects kept getting worse. I’m outside the hospital now contemplating if I should go in 😭. I feel better now that an hour past, but damn I ain’t ever doing that again.

Slow hard beats upon standing with chest tightness and feeling really weak?

It’s been happening a lot lately and it’s making my anxiety worse. When I stand up from sitting or lying down my heart beats real slow and hard, it feels like my hearts gonna stop. I start to feel better when it speeds back up, but I feel like I’m gonna collapse. It used to happen to me a lot but went away then it just came back this week. I can feel the squeeze in my chest and face when standing up, I already went to the er 10 times for chest and stomach pain but they couldn’t find anything. Cardiologist says all my tests looked normal.

Got a abdomen and pelvis ct scan with contrast and the right side of my chest feels weird when I breathe in

I heard it can cause fluid in the lungs or other long term damage, anyone here experienced the same? It doesn’t hurt to breathe but when I breathe I can feel my right lung different than the other. Also when i drink something I can feel it go through my right side a little, kind of like if my esophagus was on the right side. Been freaking out but don’t want to go to the hospital because I’ve already went so many times for different things.

Possible hiatal hernia?

Sharp mild pain in upper left abdomen, under rib cage that comes n goes, often feel it more when I sit or when in bed, sometimes radiates to the back, Feeling full quicker than usual, burping a lot after eating, chronic constipation, exercise intolerance, shortness of breath, feeling weak/fatigue, lightheaded, gas, mild bloating, pressure in abdomen when lifting, acid reflux after eating and palpitations. Done a bunch of bloodwork, 2 ct scans with contrast, and an ultrasound but nothing showed up. Also developed dysautonomia symptoms probably from vagus nerve irritation. I got a referral to see a gastroenterologist but not till a month or so.

Can’t do this shit anymore!

There’s no way I can live with this my whole life. Can’t shake this feeling off, I see everyone around me having a chance to go to work or do something with their life’s and I’m here stuck in this bullshit. What is the point of living, if I can’t even work? Who ever was born with dysautonomia/ pots since birth or developed it as a child I respect you for choosing to live.
