I just finished this book and wow what did I just read.
I really enjoyed it though and I’m processing it still. I’ve read a lot of unhinged books so I wasn’t super freaked out by the contents. But damn, it was interesting with the family dynamics and how it affected the main character.
Who else has read this?!

We unfortunately didn’t get reservations for Waianapanapa State Park or Ido Valley which is a super bummer. Didn’t realize it was needed, and we are more “go with the flow” people.
What are the best hikes and nature things to do and see? We are pretty fit and active.

The video game series, Horizon, takes place in a post apocalyptic future where humans are “clones” or created by past genetic material.
There are machines on Earth to fight but I’m looking for something that has the post apocalyptic feeling.
Technology was super advanced and the new humans have pieces of machines and such.

I was vegan for 5 years until I downgraded to vegetarian. I lied to myself saying it was healthier to be vegetarian. That I need animal protein. That it made social events easier. That I needed more B12. All lies. The truth was - it was the convenience.
I call myself a feminist and an animal lover but then eat dairy which is the exploitation of the female reproductive system. I don’t even like cheese that much. I’m not the person that says “I can’t live without cheese.”
I am a fraud.

Almost everything I use is cruelty free except for La Roche Posay cleanser and moisturizer. I have dry skin and my face feels tight after I wash. The cleanser has been amazing for me as it’s gentle, suds up and doesn’t leave my face feeling super tight after. Along with the moisturizer, it’s light and really hydrates my face.
Does anyone have recommendations for a face wash similar to “LIPIKAR WASH AP+ MOISTURIZING BODY & FACE WASH” and “TOLERIANE DOUBLE REPAIR FACE MOISTURIZER”?
I know this is a cruelty free subreddit but I do prefer non toxic as well and fragrance free.

My husband and are coming to the Minneapolis area in October. We are both originally from there, and both went to college in downtown Minneapolis. However we moved away 6 years ago and have been seldom back.
We have some friends that still live there who will take us around, but we want some recommendations as well!!
We will stay in the Minnehaha area with access to the light rail and we will get a rental car to go to places like Stillwater.
We are very active and into nature. Bonus for vegan restaurants!! We live in a place with no autumn, so we’d like to do autumn activities.

I have recently gotten into running and mainly run at Discovery Lake in San Marcos. I live in La Costa and it’s pretty hilly everywhere.
I would like to try running at the beach! Is there a good beach that has a paved/semi paved area to run? I think Tamarack does but wanted any suggestions.
Also interested in any local run clubs, preferably Carlsbad and Encinitas.

Am I the only one who does not feel bad about the murder?! He raped Gabby as a teenager!!!!!! And was going to hurt her again!!!! He is a pedophile rapist !!!
I get Carlos feeling upset to a degree but this intense guilt from Susan and the others is confusing and frustrating.
He was not an innocent man. He was literally about to attack Gabby AGAIN!!! They are acting like a random, innocent, kind man was killed in cold blood by Carlos. Carlos did the right thing.
