Activities/clubs in Binghamton

Early 30s couple, just moved to Binghamton. Looking for recommendations on things to do when we have free time. Obviously excited to try out some nearby hikes. What other recommendations do you have? We’ve been to the botanical garden and the Saturday farmers market once. We enjoy going to 205 dry. Are there any group activities or clubs that take place?

What are the rules for swimsuits/cover ups in public?

I know you’re not supposed to wear your swimsuit in public and I want to make sure I’m being respectful of the locals and the rules. Is it okay if the cover up is see through and your swimsuit is visible? Or should it be fully covered?

Rules are a bit different for cover ups where I’m from and I want to make sure I follow them accordingly in Hvar and Dubrovnik.

Revelin or Lazaretti? Or something else?

We only have 1 night to party in Dubrovnik. It’s a Sunday in mid September. We enjoy EDM. Where do you recommend we go out?

Is this a red flag?

I applied to Croatia 5 days ago.

I’m a green card holder with an Indian passport. I’m a doctor in the United States- just finished training and taking a vacation 1 week after I return from my trip.

Travel history:

  1. 2024- approved for Schengen to Spain for 6 weeks, for a 12 day trip. I stuck to my 12 day itinerary.

  2. 2025: Applied to Belgium for single entry. Got a multi entry visa for 1 year. I stated in my itinerary my entry and exit port would be Netherlands but I applied to Belgium because that’s where I was spending the most amount of time.

  3. 2025: Traveled to Lisbon for 4 days on the multi entry visa.

  4. Traveled to England via UK visa.

My question is regarding trip 2: I stuck to my itinerary exactly as stated in my application. But from Netherlands to Belgium, I traveled via train and I cannot remember if the conductor stamps your passport? Will the visa officer see the Belgium visa but stamps from Netherlands airport and think that I visa shopped?

I got an email that my visa has been shipped back to me and am just freaking out since I had this realization.

ETA: I’m starting a new job 1 week after I return from vacation. Therefore I included my signed contract which has both the start date and salary listed, as I am currently not employed. I also showed sufficient financial funds. Hope this helps my case.

What are your thoughts on using the word doctor versus Physician with general public?

Husband and I are both physicians in medical fields. When someone asks me what I do, I tell them I’m a physician but my husband uses the term doctor. I’ve always felt that the word doctor can come off as snobby or trying to show off, hence I try to avoid it. I associate the term physician as more of a job title and feels more simple. My husband on the other hand feels that the term physician can sometimes feel snobby, particular because some older population or smaller towns tend to not understand the term right away. He thinks that the term doctor it’s easier to understand. This did happen once in Spain when I introduced myself as a physician and the guy asked “you mean like physical therapy?”

I came across a post recently, where a female physician commented, saying that she hates introducing herself as a doctor because she feels that it sounds snobbish. I was pleasantly surprised to see that I wasn’t the only one who felt this way.

How do you introduce yourself to people and what gender do you identify with?

If you could only own 4 swimsuits for the rest of your life- what would they be?

Trying to build a swimsuit “capsule” if you will for an upcoming vacation. I’ve always bought cheap but now want to spend a little bit more as I plan to jump off the boat into the ocean and don’t need incidents of my bikini riding up 😅 hit me with your best recommendations for flattering (early 30s), durable enough to last many years, with good coverage without being grandma

Saturday or Sunday for Revelin?

We love EDM and were looking forward to going on Saturday but found a really cool boat company in Hvar to spend Saturday in. Would we miss out big time by going Sunday instead of Saturday to Revelin?

Will contract/offer letter suffice for proof of job?

I completed medical training 1 month ago and currently taking a break until I start my job end of September. I signed my contract for my new job already. Applying for Schengen in a few days- planning to submit my last 3 paystubs until end of June to show proof that I was recently employed along with the new job contract which states that I will be starting my job on September 21st. My planned vacation is from September 3-15. Will this suffice or do I also need a letter from future employer as well?

I have good proof of funds, genuine bookings, plus this is my 3rd Schengen visa and I was granted multi entry on my 2nd visa.

Loewe has spoiled me for other luxury purses

My first luxury purse was a Loewe mini flamenco that I bought a few years ago and I can’t speak highly enough about the quality. I then bought a Bvlgari serpenti because that’s been on my wish list since I was in high school.

I don’t really have a desire to buy a Chanel but recently went to the store to just check it out. I felt a few different ones and wow… the quality was awful. Then went to Louis Vuitton, another brand I’ve never had any desire to purchase but thought why not let’s just check it out. I was astonished by the piss poor quality.

My Loewe has truly ruined me for other brands. I think I will only be buying Loewe. I would love to also buy a Bottega and Ferragamo because I love their quality but need to see an innovative design before I bite the bullet.

I’m just shocked because I always thought I’d buy this vast collection of different purses and man, seeing the poor quality of these overpriced bags changed my opinion literally within minutes.

Experience with visa to Croatia

Applying through VFS in New York City 5 weeks before departure date. Anyone have a rough idea on how long visa turn around time is? Applying end of July for early September trip

Possible to get visa to Croatia through New York VFS in 4 weeks?

I gave biometrics 2 years ago and thought I could mail in my application (was able to do this for Belgium last year). At the 11th hour I realized that you cannot do this for Croatia. As such, I was able to get an appointment 4 weeks before my planned trip. Has anyone been able to obtain the visa in this time period?

The other issue is that I’m traveling to Turkey for the first leg of my trip. So plan to arrive in Turkey by September 3 and leave for Croatia on September 8. I have read on Reddit that Croatia some times processes visa based on your travel date. Since I’m traveling to Turkey first and will my need my passport earlier, how should I go about my trip?

Should I book refundable ticket/stay to Croatia from September 3 in hopes of getting my passport sooner?

Does Croatia require in person submission of documents even if biometrics were provided 2 years ago?

Indian citizen with US permanent residency. I gave biometrics 2 years ago and have received Schengen visa twice since then. Now applying for Croatia for the first time- am I required to submit my application in person or can it be mailed in? I read somewhere online that Croatia requires in person submission but I am not able to verify it properly. I mailed my documents to Belgium last year and it get approved without have to go in person.

Can someone please explain what to fill out here?

I’m an Indian citizen with a green card. Traveling to Turkey and then Croatia. Not sure what to fill out in this section? Are they asking for the dates that I plan to be in Croatia? But that wouldn’t make sense because an earlier section already asked when I plan to enter and leave Croatia
