If videos of MGM being performed were shown in sex Ed this would die so fast.

The amount of times I've heard people say "I supported circumcision until I saw a video of it being performed. I could never do that to my son" is crazy

There's also been MULTIPLE times where I've shown a friend or someone in my life a video of it being performed and they were so immediately against it after.

Of course, there's a lot of people who are just THAT ignorant, or simply don't care that they're torturing their son. But if more people saw the raw truth, things would change faster.

Keratinization of the glans: What it is, why it happens, and a comparison to that of intact glans.

Keratinization is the biological process where living squamous cells (keratinocytes) produce keratin, harden, lose their nucleus, and form a protective outer layer in tissues like skin, hair, and nails.

Keratinization of the penile glans is guaranteed after circumcision.

This causes dryness and loss of sensation.

When the penile glans are exposed 24/7, the friction causes the production of keratinocytes in order to protect the now vulnerable glans.

Normally, the foreskin would keep the glans protected. But when the foreskin is cut off, and the glans have no protection, this causes the glans to become more like regular skin. Rather than the sensitive, soft, and hydrated skin that penile glans are supposed to be like.

Sometimes logic and evaluating what you've witnessed is enough, and you don't need a study.

This is not a stab at science and clinical studies, but rather a reminder that we should all be able to think independently. Studies and research are crucial, but you also can't allow your thoughts and opinions to be purely dictated by a strangers write-up.

We all instinctively and subconsciously know that circumcision is wrong. But cultural influence persuades us and we're taught to not trust our own gut feeling, but rather look to others to form OUR OWN opinion.

I'm sure most of us in this community have at one point or another watched one of those videos where a baby is screaming in agonizing pain while being mutilated. That's plenty enough to come to the conclusion that circumcision is painful, and unethical.

I think so many pro-cutters just lack the ability to think independently in general. They're looking at other peoples opinions to then form their own. It obscures their ability to look at things as they are.

The best example of this is how most pro-mutilators are against FGM but are in support of MGM. Both are performed for the exact same reasons, both cause the victims pain, both are a violation of autonomy, both cause sexual dysfunction and other negative effects; but they've been conditioned by the media and culture to think one is BENEFICIAL, and one is horrific.

You don't ALWAYS need a study, logic is often enough to determine right vs wrong... but either way there's tons of research showing the negative effects of MGM so either way it's absurd.

One of my favorite debate points that stumps every pro-circ person.

I've used this so many times, and then they just stand there barely able to wrap their heads around what I just said like 😮

The point is:

There are 6,800 mammal species. Only whales, dolphins, marsupials, elephants, and bats are born without a foreskin. The reason for this is in these select few species, their penis does not rest flaccid externally; their penis rests flaccid in an internal cavity, unexposed to the outer world. Therefore we cannot compare their anatomy to humans.

But, every single mammal species whose penises are external 24/7 just like humans penises are, have foreskin.

What every single mammal species has in common, is their penile glands are protected from the external world at all times besides during erection.

Do you mean to tell me that evolution made the same mistake across all 6,800 mammal species by making sure their glands are protected?

And did evolution make the exact same extremely specific mistake with foreskin by giving it to (roughly) 6,700 mammal species?

Or, if viewing it from a religious standpoint:

Did God give all 6,800 mammals glan protection by accident? Do you think humans know better than your God?

If your religion requires you to inflict physical harm among an innocent person, your religion is fucking evil.

"Oh but my religion requires me to do this to my child!"

Your religion requires you to hit your child?

Your religion requires women and girls to cover their entire bodies even in extreme heat?

Your religion requires you to painfully and non consensually remove a part of a baby's body?

Okay then, your religion is evil.

A study showing the correlation between SIDS and neonatal circumcision

https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC6412606/

2 things I'd like to point out that this study mentions:

\-SIDS rates are notably lower in Hispanics. I speculate this is because Hispanics in the US have a far lower circumcision rate than any other ethnic group. (And as someone who's Hispanic, I can back this)

\-"Research suggests that procedures that are far milder than MNC (male neonatal circumcision), such as routine heel punctures, can have persistent negative effects with changes to immune, endocrine, and behavioral reactions to stressful events continuing into child-hood or even adulthood."

I bring this up because if a heel prick is associated with "changes in immune, endocrine, and behavioral reactions to stressful events continuing into childhood or even adulthood" then just imagine how taking a scalpel and slicing off the most sensitive part of a baby's body, affects them neurologically.

r/intactinfo is under new ownership

My goal is to make r/intactinfo a genuinely informative subreddit where anyone can scroll through this sub and become more knowledgeable on why being intact is healthy, normal, and beneficial. Or, learn about the cons of genital mutilation.

I have not fully set up this subreddit yet, so I do apologize. But if anyone would like to share anything educational/informative they have to post, even if it's just a cross-post, I'd really appreciate it! ♥️

ALSO- I'm looking for a mod or 2. If anyone's interested shoot me a DM.

Welcome to r/intactinfo

Hi, I'm ElegantlyLethal_R0se, the new owner of r/intactinfo

I've been an intactivst for 14 years, it's something I'm incredibly passionate about.

In this subreddit you can post *educational* information about all things intactivism. Whether it be studies, statistics, advice, your personal experience, etc.

This subreddit is educational. Keep it informative, and keep it civil.

I'm yet to completely set up this subreddit but I'm on it.

My goal is to make this a genuinely informative place where anyone can scroll through this sub and become more knowledgeable on why being intact is healthy, normal, and beneficial. Or, learn about the cons of genital mutilation.

Male or Female centruroides vittatus?

Also what I have he/she in IS NOT a permanent enclosure. This is only for 2 days while I make the actual enclosure.

I wrote something about a voice speaking to a baby boy who's about to be circumcised.

I journal sometimes to work through my thoughts. This is something I wrote a few days ago, I'm a woman btw. Sometimes I really cannot fathom what must go through a pro-circ persons mind. I know that a lot of pro-cutters are just ignorant, but I often imagine a pro-cutters thought process as just pure evil. Like this.

I titled this "It's just a little bit of skin" Also, ⚠️TW⚠️. Here it is:

Welcome to the world baby boy. I know, I know, getting evicted from your cozy, warm home may suck. But you have your whole life ahead of you to enjoy, and it starts now.

Think all you'll experience today is love, oxytocin, being nurtured and cherished? Think again. You're going to go on a little adventure. Your parents are giving you to the doctors for a while. You'll be alone, but I'm sure it'll all be fine. This is a hospital! Nothing unethical will happen, trust me..

Well, maybe not. Cause now, it's time to take you to another room, to have your genitals mutilated. But hey, at least you'll still be close enough to your mama for her to hear you screaming in agonizing pain down the hospital hallway.

If the cold, sharp air on your little body after leaving your mother's womb wasn't uncomfortable enough already, let's strip you naked and strap your limbs down. You should probably be in your mother's arms right now... But that's way too peaceful and natural for us.

You need to be toughened up. No one here really cares too much about your pain. And actually, we'll get a good laugh out of this. "Haha, someone's angry he got his penis snipped".

Surely this won't affect you in any way. It's just a little bit of skin! It's cleaner! This will make your life easier, and you'll be thanking me later.

Now, I get that maybe taking a scalpel to your penis while you're wide awake might seem immoral. Which, if you were an adult, doing this WOULD be immoral. But you're not an adult honey, you don't get a choice. You won't remember this though. So none of your suffering matters anyway.

Alright bud, we're just gonna start by ripping this useless, dirty skin off of your glans. Shhh, don't scream. I know it hurts, but we have to tell mommy you didn't cry at all during this. Don't you love your mom? *Sigh* Whatever, you'll lose your voice eventually. Let's give you some sugar water. You're gonna lose a dangerous amount of blood. Plus, you won't want to breastfeed for a while after this. So we have to get your blood sugar up while we can.

Let's get the clamp on it now. Oh, you think this is bad? So dramatic. I haven't even grabbed the scalpel yet!! If you're lucky, you'll pass out and go into shock before we get to that point. But we'll just tell mommy you fell asleep, isn't that right? Time to slice it off now. Say bye-bye! It's gone forever. But remember, those 22 thousand nerve endings are just a littleee bit of skin.

Be quiet. You don't get to go back to mom until you go to sleep...

I'm waiting...

Ugh, in the meantime I'll wipe all the blood off of you, just as if nothing happened. Except for the scar I'm leaving you with. I'm sure someday you'll look at that and be grateful this was done. Or maybe you'll look at it in anger, and envy the ones who were spared. We won't know how you feel until it's already done though. Cause your consent doesn't matter to us!

Here, you're finally back with mommy and daddy. "He did so great! Slept through most of it!"

Finally, it's over. Or is it? It better be.

When you find out about this in roughly 12 years, you shouldn't feel resentment about this. Like I said, you should be thanking me. It's not a violation! It's not a big deal at all. You can't miss what you've never had. Why would you care so much about this? I didn't damage you.. it's not dry or numb now. I helped you.

It's just a little bit of skin.

How does the parental consent for circ work?

As in, if let's say a mother wants her son cut, but the dad doesn't want him cut, would a hospital need both parents signatures or would the decision be fully up to her? Also vice versa- if the dad wanted his son cut but the mother didn't, could the father get it done without her consent?

Edit: Y'all I'm talking from a legal perspective. Also I am anti-circ already.
