Nekravol. - A Doom Eternal inspired two-layer color-reduction linocut print edition that I made

games and I just wanted to share this art that I did with this community!!

🔥Nekravol🔥

This is a color-reduction “gamescape” print based off of Chapter 10 of Doom Eternal. The ancient hell city, Nekravol.

Many people had a “Covid Game” which helped them get through some of the hardships that went along with the COVID-19 pandemic. For many people it was a game about fighting an evil raccoon that loves to steal your money. While I played that game too, Doom Eternal was my definitive “Covid Game” and, for my money, the best first-person shooter game that I’ve ever played. There are many other contenders, but Doom Eternal had it all. The action, the gameplay, the art direction, the atmosphere, THE SOUNDTRACK. All of this just came together so well to create one of the most memorable gaming experiences that I’ve ever had.

No Gods No Kings - Bioshock inspired color-reduction linocut prints handmade by me

Hello everyone!!

I’m a printmaker and I like to make prints inspired by the games that I’m nostalgic for. In my honest opinion Bioshock is the single best first person shooter that I’ve ever played and it played a significant role in my middle-high-school years. I made this print inspired by that! 🙂

👊🏼No Gods No Kings👊🏼

This is a four-layer color-reduction print inspired by perhaps one of the best first-person shooter games ever made, Bioshock. Rapture is simply one of the most fascinating and tragic settings in gaming, and the splicers that still inhabit it are terrifying. I wanted to capture elements of horror plus the beauty of the underwater city. I’ve been wanting to do a Bioshock print for years but was always stumped as to what I wanted to do. Once I got used to using shiny gold ink, this idea just stuck with me until I created it

I mostly wanted to just share this print with y’all, but I also only have one of these left, so if you’re interested at all, I’ll put my shop link in the comments 😁

Thanks for lookin’!

Warp Room - Crash Bandicoot 2: Cortex Strikes Back inspired three-layer color-reduction linocut prints handmade by me

Hello everyone!!

I’m a printmaker and I’ve been making prints inspired by games that I’m nostalgic for to capture the feelings that I had playing them as a kid. I made one for Crash 2 and wanted to share it with this community 😊

🍊Warm Room🍊

This is a three-layer color-reduction linocut print inspired by the warp rooms from Crash Bandicoot 2: The Wrath of Cortex. This game was a huge part of my childhood, and is the reason that Dr. Neo Cortex is one one of my favorite villains ever. In this print I wanted to capture one of the moments where Cortex is trying to convince Crash to help him. Also featuring Polar sitting outside of a portal to one of the awesome levels where you ride the polar bear through the stage.

I mostly wanted to share this for lookin’ but if you want to see my other prints or look at this one more, you can find me on Instagram @emvkoopa and I’ll put my Etsy shop link in the comments 😁

Thank you for lookin’!!

Misty Day, Remains of the Judgement - After Masahiro Ito - A limited editions color-reduction linocut print study inspired by Silent Hill 2 (OC FANART)

Hello!

I create linocut prints inspired by games that inspire me. This is going to sound like sacrilege. I’m am a maaasssiiivveee survival horror fan. I’ve been a Resident Evil fanatic all of my life and games like Dead Space and even Cronos the New Dawn just hit with me a certain way. Despite this, I had never played any Silent Hill games… I recently picked up Silent Hill 2 and could not put it down. Ended the game mad at myself for never having picked this series up. Immediately purchased Silent Hill f as the credits were rolling. This is not my usual style at all, but I wanted to do a study of the Painting that was made by Masahiro Ito for the game, and try to recreate it in the color-reduction linocut style. I wanted to share it with a community that might appreciate it!

I’ve posted this print here before, but currently only have one left on my site, and wanted to share it one last time in case anyone here is interested. I’ll post the link to my shop in the comments 🙂

🖤 Misty Day, Remains of the Judgement🖤

A color-reduction linocut print of Masahiro Ito’s painting

This is a color-reduction linocut print that I did as a study of the in-game painting from Silent Hill 2 which was created by Masahiro Ito. I wanted to see if I could capture the intense contrast and sharp “shapes” of the composition rather than the fine details. It was only recently that I FINALLY gave Silent Hill a chance. Survival Horror is one of my favorite genres and I’m mad at myself for waiting so long to experience this brilliant game.

Thanks for lookin’!!

Comet Observatory - Super Mario Galaxy inspired three-layer color-reduction linocut prints handmade by me

Hello! 🙂

I’m a printmaker and I like to make prints inspired by games that I feel a lot of nostalgia for. Super Mario Galaxy was a huge part of my middle school years and I wanted to show it some appreciation.

Comet Observatory

This is a three-layer color-reduction linocut gamescape print inspired by Super Mario Galaxy. I despise motion controls, but there were 3 games on Wii that I feel did them right. Wii Sports, Resident Evil 4 Wii Edition, and Super Mario Galaxy. I absolutely loved this game back in the day. I just recently played it for the first time in over a decade and it absolutely still holds up!

I mostly just wanted to share my work with the community, but in case anybody would like to check out my other work I’ll put the link to my shop in the comments 😁

Got this incredible fossil from someone parting with their belongings

Hello!

I live in Fort Wayne, IN. Location might not be super important in this case. Somebody on Facebook that my wife is friends with was parting with a lot of personal belongings. My wife knew I would love this fossil and snagged it for me. I’m getting a few conflicting answers while researching and was hoping somebody could confirm exactly what it is.

Thank you in advance!!

99th street - color-reduction linocut prints hand-made by me

Hello! I’m a printmaking that makes prints inspired by the things that make me feel nostalgic. Jet Set Radio Future is one of them! I made this four-layer reduction linocut print inspired by the most memorable location in JSRF to me, and that’s 99th Street!

I’ve posted this before, but only have one print of this left and wanted to share it here again in case one of you fans as big as I am wants to check it out! I’ll put my shop link in the comments 🙂

🐲99th Street🐲

This is a four-layer color-reduction linocut gamescape print inspired by Jet Set Radio Future. The best pack-in game for any console was this game. I had no clue what this game was and probably wouldn’t have even tried it had it not just been there. This is my most fond memory of the original Xbox. Skating around and spraypainting the city while running from cops and also listening to the most crazy and memorable soundtrack from any game?! 99th street in particular was always my favorite area. The night-time setting with all of the lights. A tower with dragons wrapped around it that you can grind on?! I still frequently put this soundtrack on while I’m trying to focus on projects. It’s a shame that this game isn’t backwards compatible or released on any modern consoles.

Big rock full of fossilized shells and coral found in Fort Wayne, Indiana - is this a trilobite?

Hello!

I found this heaping chunk of fossils, which is not at all unusual for this area. I do have some questions about this one though. What is the big black spot on top, and is the zoomed in image a trilobite? It certainly looks like one. If it is, what is the best way to get it out individually that will keep it in tact? I love trilobites. Also, is there anything else substantial within this chunk of fossils that you see?

Thanks in advance!

Help identifying - pyritized fossil?

I found what seems to be a super cool fossil and in an attempt to identify it, signs seem to point more towards pyrite or hematite. It is heavier than it looks, and has a very metallic shine to it that seems gold in some spots and silver-ish in others. Anyone able to help me confirm the ID of this? I absolutely love it and wanna speak to it when I brag about the find. I found it in a pile of discarded rocks from a nearby quarry in Fort Wayne Indiana containing a vast variety of other fossils.

Crystal deposit inside of broken apart agate - Huntington, IN

Seems to be quartz? Or Smokey quartz? I’m no expert though. Hopefully someone can tell me what this is for sure. It’s suuupppeeerrrr sparkly. It feels very light and possibly a little fragile but for obvious reasons I don’t want to tear that

I found my rock collection in my parents’ attic and found this in it. These are all rocks that I found, and for my entire childhood I was in the Huntington IN, Fort Wayne IN area. I’m seeing a lot of different rocks that all match this same description, and was wondering if somebody could help identify exactly what it is, as well as whether or not I should leave it raw or do something with it.

Thanks in advance!!

My great grandpa left behind three large rocks all similar to this one. I didn’t know him at all, but the note left said that the three rocks came from Utah. They’re beautiful. Anyone have any idea what these are?

u/ElijahVanceArtworks — 18 days ago

We bought this house about a year and a half ago and I never paid much mind to the Little Rock pits behind our house. My nearly 2-year old and I were playing outside and I found what looks to be a small part of a geode, or at the very least a crystal deposit that looks like quartz. Anyone able to confirm? I did have to break it open with a hammer cause the crystals were pretty hidden. It’s gonna go in a little box for my son when he gets older. Just wanted to see if somebody could verify what it exactly is 🙂

The fossil is beautiful, I would just like to know perhaps what kind of fossil it is? I’m fairly certain the top one is a small piece of a geode, or at the very least a crystal deposit that looks like quartz. Anyone able to confirm? Part of the “geode” is gonna go in a little box for my son when he gets older. Just wanted to see if somebody could verify 🙂
