Which characters do you consider a "media literacy check"?—characters that reveal how well someone has understood the story based on how they interpret that character?

Here 3 examples

-Johnny silverhand from cyberpunk 2077: some players may be tempted to glorify Johnny's actions because of his carisma and the fact that he's fighting genuenly with the intention of helping people. But an attentive player Will understand why he, beyond the Violence, could not help the world

-Bear from obsesión, this one is straight forward, if you can't understand why Bear is the villain of the movie either you didn't pay atention to the movie or you need a therapy sesion to discuss consent and bodily autonomy

-Edelgard (and Rhea) from Fire emblem three houses, Three houses is a story with a great many moral nuances and information that must be recontextualized repeatedly from multiple perspectives; it demands that you learn about political and personal events through the biases of various characters.

Reducing Edelgard (or Rhea) to a purely heroic or villainous figure is clear proof that you have understood neither the events nor the themes in the Game.

Lukas' lance tranformation from CENTURIA

Character designs in the manga CENTURIA tend to be quite simple yet effective, with more elaborate, complex designs usually reserved for monsters and deities. Consequently, when Lukas transforms, his design evokes a sense of something more than human; thus, it is not merely a spectacular design in its own right but also one that achieves great narrative-visual synergy.
